I can bet there are quite a lot of different stories from WSOP 2012 with mess-ups from players, dealers, tournament directors, etc.

Let's see what we can find, some are really funny

1. Two players show a nut flush on the river:
Image in spoiler:+ Show Spoiler +

2. Found this on 2p2, quite sad story actually, even worse ruling then Cosmo's thread imo:
Prologue: It's a very loose 5/10 NLHE cash game at the WSOP that played much higher with double straddles, in-the-dark raises UTG, etc. All players were very deep with the biggest stack around $7k.

Act I: A hand comes up that is initially one of the smallest of the night. On the flop the pot is only ~$300 and all four active players check down a rainbow board of KQxx.

The river is a 10 and the first player to act is the $7k big stack - a nutty Asian guy who speaks in broken English. He stands up and pitches his cards at the muck face up, and we see they're 4s2s -a hand that can't even beat the board. After the hand hits the felt in front of the dealer, Asian Guy jokingly announces "All-in". We roll our eyes at his attempt at humor and the next player to act reaches for chips to take a stab at the pot.

Act II: Suddenly one of the other active players stops the action and tells the dealer that the Asian guy is indeed all-in. We murmur and look at each other, but another active player chimes in, agreeing. Now everyone is chattering, with some players (including me) pointing out that there is absolutely zero chance that the Asian guy's intention was to move all-in, and others claiming the hand is live and that it doesn't matter what his intention was.

The dealer shrugs and explains his understanding of the rules: a face-up hand is live even if it hits the muck. Chaos ensues and the Asian guy goes bananas shouting "I muck! I muck hand!" over and over while reenacting the gesture of throwing the cards away. A floorman is called and once the action is recounted he snap-rules that the dealer is correct and that the hand is live. The shouting goes to 11, a sizable crowd gathers, and Asian Guy has a conniption, demanding confirmation from the senior supervisor. But once called, the senior floorman snap-rules that the snap-rule is correct: the hand is live.

So to recap: Asian Guy has moved all-in for $7,000 into a $300 pot with the nut-low face-up on the table and three players yet to act.

Act III: Player 2 fist-pump insta-ships for ~$5k. The final two players curse the Poker Gods that their hands likely aren't strong enough to win and that stacks aren't deep enough to profitably overcall, and fold. Player 2 flips up J9 for the second nuts and drags a $10,000 pot. Asian Guy howls into his cell phone for a minute, grabs the remnants of his stack and disappears.

#2 isn't really a mess up. Unless you mean the player messed up. The ruling is obviously correct. Once the active players insist on him being all-in there is really no choice for the floor but to rule him all-in.

I think it's kind of douchie for the active players to insist he's allin. I'd personally just let him muck. Unless of course he was being a giant cunt at the table.

That's the nature of live poker. You do stupid shit and you end up paying for it. Very little live players have any sort of ethics. Even the live regs. So you always need to be aware of the rules and don't do silly shit.

It's kind of funny. The only time I see anyone with any ethics at the poker table really are people who clearly used to play online.

Which LP members are playing in the ME at the WSOP this year? I know Rekrul plays today (Day 1C).

I don't see any registered player lists like they had in the past.

#2 is a really fucked up thing of other players to do. What I woulda done if it was me was just picked up my chips and leave. Ive played in a local casino where some guy welched on his all in bet and the casino did nothing but ban him from the casino. Their reasoning was "we cant force him to pay you."

#1 How did that even happen? dealer messed up while suiting the cards or something?

Just do whats right

lol wtffff, if your hand is in the muck and then you shout all-in its binding these days? what if your throw your hand in the muck face up and when the other player pushes his hand face down over the 'forward motion' line you then announce a bet and force that guy into the muck LOL

ok I guess that isn't possible but still

super weaksauce by the other players.. sounds like straight up stealing imo

the fuck..., if I won that hand vs the asian dude and keep the money I would feel like a thief... I would've probably won it, let him steam a little and then give the money back just for fun.

Thats stupid ass ruling in case#2
If some1 expose his cards when there are still players left to act the hand must be declared dead...
When the first time dealer said the hand is live asian dude should just insta take all his chips and leave the table, he should expect this shit might go this deep and run away when possible

Thought this one was hilarious as well, especially considering it involves isildur
Action opened with an early position raise to 700 which received one call. The player in the cutoff three-bet to 2,600 only to have Viktor Blom four-bet to 5,800 from the big blind. The other two players got out of the way rather quickly and action was back to the cutoff.

The player in the cutoff five-bet to 12,000 and action was back to Blom. Blom shuffled his chips before moving in 18,400 for a six-bet.

"Can't do that," the dealer said. "Action is capped at four raises."

"What are you talking about?" replied Blom. The entire table protested with cries of "What?" and "This is no-limit". The dealer listened to the words of the table and the hand progressed. Blom's opponent moved all in and Blom let out a sigh and called.

Blom: {A-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}

The dealer dealt out a great flop for Blom as it came {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. The dealer was about to deal fourth street but was stopped by an ESPN employee who wanted to hold the action for taping. Blom's opponent made to wait and stare at the board that cracked his kings for about 45 seconds until the camera crews arrived.

Once the camera crew was there the dealer continued with the deal and put out the {A-Clubs} on the turn. This gave Blom trip aces but also gave his opponent a glimmer of hope as any club that did not fill up Blom would give him the win with a flush.

Fortunately for Blom the river was the {7-Spades} and he was able to double up. Blom's all in was for roughly 44,000 and he is now sitting pretty around 90,000 in chips.

wtf how can a dealer in the WSOP main event be so retarded?

They hire thousands of dealers like a month before the wsop and train them afaik, of course some dealers have been there for 3+ years and have experience but most of them are rookies and some dont fucking care cause the pay is not that good and you really get exploited but at the same time is a very easy job to do... you gotta pay a lot of attention because some of them are very irresponsable and not paying proper attention and can fuck it up big time

I was playing this hand 5/10 at the Rio with 2k, btn straddles, sb completes $20 and so do I in the BB with Th6h, other guy does the same and CO raises to $100 and is a retard indian turist, BTN is also a fish and calls blind, sb call and me and the other guy call as well. Flop comes 6s4h3h and the asian dealer says actions on you sir while pointing at the guy who raised to $100 lol ofc we told her shes incorrect, we finally checked to him and he bets $400, I shove for $1900 total when folded to me and the guy thinks for about 20 seconds before the dealer burned a card and opened the 6d turn, he says oh i like that card, do you? and calls! And the table starts shouting the dealer about wtf is she doing, the floor is called over and goes with the rules saying new turn and the 6d is reshuffled even after telling him that the indian guy called accepting the 6d turn. Floors rule stays and turn and river bricked and i lose the 4.3k pot FML

I thought that the ultimate rule of muck is that if the cards are in the muck, they are mucked. It's like the blackhole of the felt universe.

Definitelly not, cards can be retrieved from the muck if the floor seems its neccesary, its not hard to figure out somebodys cards out of the muck.

btw i know it sucks to lose the pot but that was the correct ruling.
