Bisping had a post fight interview with Ariel H(??) whatever his name is and he was surprisingly really, really classy about the decision. Thinking he had won the first two rounds (obviously a valid argument) but congratulating Sonnen and saying that's what happens when it goes to the judges sometimes. Sonnen talked crap but never really directed much of it actually towards Bisping pre-fight and after. They also touched gloves pre fight and pre-3rd round. Pretty funny that the two biggest trash talkers in the sport get together for a fight and for as much as they could, got along really well |

UFC's fault they spoiled the fans in the past 3 years with hype(too many ppvs) The results realistically can't follow the "storyline" - this ain't the WWE and I don't think the UFC can last as long as Pro wrestling has.. |

Only watched the main card but those 3 fights were alright.
Maia gassed and has turned into a Gurgel, never threatening to use BJJ until it was too late. For Sonnen vs Bisping I can see it pretty much going either way so the arguing is kind of spastic. I will say that I don't think inactive clinching is scored very highly though in the eyes of the judges. Davis looked alright but Evans was just that next level in every area. Also I noticed that Phils feet were slipping all over the place the whole fight, thought that was weird. These two set a pretty good pace and looked decent after 5 so I don't really get the gassing comments. I'd have to watch it again though to make sure.
Also the Bisping vs Sonnen "trash talk" was all bullshit. It should come as no surprise that both guys can talk normally after the fight. In fact it was some of the more forced and obvious empty trashing I've seen. |

UFC really dropped the ball on the fox card lineups.
The first fox card if you were forced to choose just one fight, then cain vs JDS was a hell of a choice. I dont care if it did end in 64 seconds, it would have been the fight I chose as well. The mistake they made was not pushing to have 2 or 3 fights on that card, because guida vs henderson was guaranteed fireworks. I know it was fox's decison yada yada, UFC needed to press for that extra 30 minutes and get that fight on the air.
And for this fox card, why in god's name would they choose davis vs rashad to headline the fox show when they could have had either diaz vs condit or edgar vs henderson. despite how exciting and awesome the fight will be, diaz might be a little too rough around the edges for fox, so specifically edgar vs henderson was PERFECT for this show. its probably not going to do that many buys to begin with so they arent losing out money on a PPV, its extremely exciting, and even though neither guy has a lot of star power, they could have piggy backed on chael/bisping. They definitely should have set up this card as edgar/henderson+chael/bisping to begin with. Would have similar hype, a title fight, but would have left fans with a much better taste in their mouths.
davis/rashad was an extremely relevant fight that set up a title shot. but for fucks sake, is this the fight we want to show the largest number of viewers? send those bloody wrestlers off to japan instead of some exciting lightweights that could steal the hearts of 5 million viewers.
this is the second time the ufc has had the chance to get ben henderson on a fox show and failed. I just hope for the 3rd show they choose some really good exciting fights because I feel like an idiot every time I suggest my casual mma watching friends to see a show and it sucks. |

^ Nate Diaz vs. Jim Miller (Lightweight) & John Dodson vs. Darren Uyenoyama (Flyweight), are scheduled for UFC on FOX 3 in early May.
Those 2 fights will be exciting for TV. There's 6 events before the UFC on FOX 3 card, so I don't think they will add anyone else just yet. |

Yea while I don't feel super excited for the lighter weight classes for the most part (like most "causal" fans) Henderson is so much more exciting then Rashad.
The only entertaining thing Rashad has done the last few years is getting knocked silly by Machida (I so want a rematch).
UFC 143 can't disappoint though. The prelims are very so-so but the main card (except the Ed Herman fight) looks sooo good. |
