Seeing that .gif image of Silva vs. Franklin reminds me how old school Franklin's style of fighting is. It's amazing he's been able to stick around this long and continue to be a decent fighter for the most part. I'm a Franklin fan, but I guess it's cuz his personality/background story/heart of a lion, not so much of his overall skill, just like how I still like Tito Ortiz for some reason (except when he opens his mouth and sucks Dana/Fertitta's dick).

I'm surprised at all the Bisping hate tbh ^^ I'm kinda want him to win, but since I believe he doesn't stand a chance vs Silva I guess I'll go for Sonnen.
And Sugah Rashad all the way ofcourse!

For some reason I really can't stand Rashad. He's a poor man's Bisping without the accent shit talking wise. About as boring as they come once he figured out he wasn't a striker too.

After reading the "Rashad is a poor mans Bisping" up above my post, I decided to look at Rashad's wins after he lost the belt to Lyoto.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rashad_Evans#Mixed_martial_arts_record

Rashad is 3-0 after he lost the belt in May 2009, and don't forget he was hurt for awhile and didn't fight, which makes sense for such few fights since then.

Anyway, he lost the belt and then fought Thiago Silva (11-1 at the time, only lost was to Lyoto), then Rampage Jackson (I saw the fight, but don't remember it clearly. Wasn't this a close fight?), then Tito Ortiz (Tito was 1-4-1 going into this fight in his last 6, WTF?). Rashad beat Thiago via Decision, Rampage via Decision, and Tito via knee to the body + punches.

Looks like Rashad's opponents got weaker over time. So this fight against Phil Davis seems to finally be a step up in competition, instead of padding his record with wins against old school fighters with big names who are still hanging around (Rampage/Tito).

I already think Rashad will beat David, but I thought the above was interesting.

rashad was an extremely underwhelming mma fighter up until his last 2 fights.

-rashad was extremely unimpressive against tito/bisping back in the day.

-i hate to use the term "caught" as i think its one of the lamest excuses possible, but until rashad "caught" chuck with one of the best KO of all time, he was losing the fight.

-rashad was getting crushed by forrest until he took forrest down midway through the 3rd round and pounded him out. in the first 2 rounds he was outstruck 46-23 and looked on his way to losing a one sided decision.

-he looked awful against machida and like he didnt deserve to be in the cage with him

-the thiago silva fight was a bad performance. he managed to get 8 takedowns, but only landed 12 strikes the entire fight. he was actually outlanded 31-12 and was nearly finished in the 3rd round. if it had happened at the beginning of the first round, he would have been finished, but thiago was pretty gassed by that point.

-the rampage fight was the first time he looked impressive as a fighter. his striking looked good, his wrestling was fluid and transitioned well from his striking. he really put it all together and looked like a complete mma fighter in this bout. of course he was nearly finished again in the 3rd round, but was saved because rampage was also horribly gassed out, just as thiago silva was.

-the tito fight he again looked impressive, but lets not forget that a) he was fighting a total has been and b) tito took rashad down early on.

i do think phil davis has a chance here. its not like rashad is some amazing striker or amazing wrestler. hes ok at both and was able to use both against opponents he could, but until recently he has been wholly unimpressive for a top 10 fighter. i do favor him in this fight, but i think phil is a live dog with an athleticism/strength/wrestling/reach advantage. i also think if phil utilizes kicks on the outside well he can do ok standing with rashad

Tell me how this isn't toying and trolling around with people plz. Pretty sure I can find a lot more instances than this if I try hard enough. Sorry to derail thread.

Rampage/Evans was close as a fight but Rampage really didn't do much for it not to be a clear decision win for Evans. And I'm speaking as a Evans detractor and Rampage fan.

I guess it's not difficult to look impressive against Tito these days but I thought Evans was really fluid and on point for having long layoffs. Bet Davis small for fun though...coz well...F Evans and F Jon Jones. Don't even care about their rivalry because I dislike them both, and Jones will probably stomp him anyways

i used the wrong words, he does toys with people and we all love when he drops his hands down and engages the Matrix mode, its probably one of the things i enjoy the most in MMA and probably many others doo too, however what he did with Maia wasnt this, proo of that is that White said he would cut him from UFC even if he was the champion if he ever do something like that again.

^ From Wiki: In the first two rounds fighting Maia, Silva appeared to mock his opponent while employing quick, precise striking. In the third round, however, Silva's tempo seemed to change. He looked to Maia to be the aggressor while he largely circled and taunted his opponent. In the fifth round, Silva's lack of action prompted referee Dan Miragliotta to warn Silva for his conduct. The crowd began to side with Maia, who was the only fighter attempting to engage. After 5 rounds, Silva was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

Silva was widely criticized for his performance. Dana White said it was the most embarrassed he had ever been since becoming UFC president. Midway through the fourth round, White walked away from the fight and gave the championship belt to Silva's manager, Ed Soares. White was so annoyed that he declined to personally place the belt around Silva's waist, claiming it was the first time he had done so after a title match. It was also claimed that Silva verbally taunted Maia saying "Come on, hit me in the face playboy."

Silva's real fault is that he has zero personality to go along with his antics. Ali was more a piece of shit than Silva is in and outside the ring but had charisma so everyone loved him. I'm done being annoyed with Silva during the Damian fight and just accepted that he is truly the best fighter in MMA by far

Well Ali was a megalomaniac douche, but Silva is just a fake.

"oh i love brazilians, love to everyone, go brazil brazil brazil brazil brazil brazil brazil...." Then he proceeds to humilliate fellow brazilian fighters, even fucking legends who he is supposedly friendly with (Belfort) he comes out with a retarded fag white mask and get in Belforts face wtf is that shit, he is just a pathetic asshole, but its a delight watching him fight
