<img src="http://www.liquidpoker.net/images/avatars/lpps_flsweden%20copy.png" align="right" style="border:0px solid black;">Surprise, surprise! When we thought the year was over, <b>SakiSaki</b> (or would it be SickSick?) decides to steal the show and take down the Super Sunday Million! PokerStars added 1 million dollars to the usual $1,500,000 guaranteed prizepool, what was more than enough to make a sick number of 16,260 players decide to register in the tourney. The total prizepool was worth of <b>$3,252,000</b>, considerably more than the guaranteed prize. It was the biggest Sunday Million Ever, surpassing the former record of $2,836,200 prizepool and 14,181 registered players (<a href="http://www.liquidpoker.net/news/517887/TimDawg_takes_down_the_Sunday_Million!">TimDawg won that one</a>!). This special Sunday Million is part of the PokerStars World Record Week.
<img src="http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Raidern/december08/sicksick.jpg" style="border:1px solid black;">
Saki came into the final table with the 2nd biggest stack, behind only AAmerican, who finished in 7th place. Also, according to PokerStarsBlog, he rejected a deal proposal twice. Right after saying no to the first of those, Saki eliminated the author of the proposal, k0rt, when he got a runner-runner straight with AJ, beating k0rt's pocket Kings. Then, with the field down to only 3 players, SakiSaki moved all-in from the BB in response to MauryFishant's raise from the small blind. MauryFishant showed 33, while SakiSaki turned up Kings. The board didn't change a thing, and SakiSaki went to heads-up with a four-to-one advantage. Saki had 127 million chips against 35 million from Beufford.
Beufford, "the villain", managed to narrow down the chip gap after doubling up and winning a couple of pots. But on the final hand, SakiSaki raised to 2.8 million from the button and Beufford called. Beufford bet 4.2 million on the flop, SakiSaki made the call. came in the turn and Beufford decided to go all-in with his remaining 50.7 million chips. We can imagine the smile on SakiSaki's face after that all-in move, as he showed for a flopped full house! All of Beufford's hope relied on the Eight of Spades that could tie the pot, as he had for two pairs. The river card was the though and SakiSaki became the winner of the largest Sunday Million ever held on PokerStars, taking home $331,378.80 for the victory!
Congratulations Saki!
Final results:<b>1. lp_SakiSaki ($331,378.80)</b>
2. Beufford ($227,640)
3. MauryFishant ($162,600)
4. k0rt ($130,080)
5. manifest23 ($97,560)
6. salmor ($73,170)
7. AAmerican ($50,406)
8. La_Alvarado ($32,520)
9. kharak ($22,764) |

I don't understand the refusal to split which seems so common. You wouldn't take a shot at 500/1000 because of the variance. Why does that logic not also apply to the final 5 or so of a massive tournament?
If I ever got that far I'd be splitting with haste :D |

applies cause of the edge youd be giving up by taking the lower variance route. your edge in a really good railheaven game might be 1ptbb or something, whereas here:
(8:18 AM) Ket: dont be peer pressured by the fanboys into trying to be cool, if u wanna at least look at some numbers then do it. your actions in the next hour are going to be life changing. id be looking at numbers at this point unless opponents were fundamentally extremely poor. obviously id be trying to negotiate an unfairly good deal for myself that reflects and maybe even slightly exaggerates my skill edge, and you may have the 'most willing to play it out if they dont accept' card on your side

yeah plus good railheaven games run relatively frequently whereas finding yourself shorthanded in the biggest sunday million ever with a bunch of guys making gross mistakes is a once in a lifetime event.
anyways enough hijacking, very very sick. congrats. |

Why would you share the cake when you can have it all for yourself ? Would be dumb to give away $ when he feels like he's the best player at the table. You can still look at numbers and deal something that give you more than 1st place tho, some people are stupid enough to accept like it happened before (2+2 thread not so long ago, the guy actually managed to deal more than 1st place lmao), that would be hilarious. |

usually it has 1.5mln guaranteed prizepool
this time it was 2.5mln, so 1mln was added to the guaranteed prizepool
obviously the amount of money gathered by the buyin of he players surpassed that value, so it doesn't really matter. |
