High Stakes Poker S5 line-up announced!

The fifth season of High Stakes Poker will be filmed 19 to 21st of December in the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino and has some very interesting names making their appearance. Both the winner and the runner-up of this year's WSOP Main Event, Peter Eastgate and Ivan Demidov are amongst those who will be there.

We'll also be able to see young pros Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies and Dario Minieri making their first appearance to High Stakes Poker. Other newcomers include Hollywood director Nick Cassavetes (director of movies like John Q, Alpha Dog and The Notebook), the creator of The Simpsons: Sam Simon, and Giorgio Medici, a successful businessman and president of the Medici Consulting and Investment LLC.

Of course we'll see familiar faces as well. Players like Doyle Brunson, Patrik Antonius, Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, David Benyamine and Phil Ivey will be playing as well, amongst others.

The full list of players scheduled include (in alphabetical order): Patrik Antonius, Mike Baxter, David Benyamine, Doyle Brunson, Nick Cassavetes, Ivan Demidov, Tom Dwan, Peter Eastgate, Eli Elezra, Antonio Esfandiari, Barry Greenstein, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Phil Laak, Howard Lederer, Giorgio Medici, Dario Minieri, Daniel Negreanu, Ilari Sahamies, Bob Safai and Sam Simon.

The minimum buy-in for this season will be $200,000 .

would rather have other player than laak because his play is super average and nitty (just from what i've seen, which isn't much hands). Sure hes funny but it still doesn't compensate enough for his dull play for me

Im actually kinda curious about how will baxter handle himself vs the online pros, he may be worse but he isn't too bad and seems pretty smart, plus he is probably way overolled and is never scared money (but im not 100% about this)

esfandiari is fine, he isnt that nitty, he is just on scared money but he reads people really good and he makes moves.

Doyle is also fine, he is tight but not a nit, just solid good tag imo.

I'm glad Guy didn't get an invite (or doesn't come), he pretty much ruined the $500k game at the end of last season for me. He just doesn't value his money, he's annoying and plays really bad

Ziig should make things interesting. Although in a game where any TP is the nuts and everyone is sporting a VPIP of 177, even he might slow down like Phil G did on HSP.

keep doyle for sure, esfarandi plays scared, wich is very YAAAAAWWWWWWNN, and phile laak is a douche, talks 10 min to fold just to get some airtime, and then make the same retarted jokes and hoodie moves he makes every time. VERY unentertaining. obviously sammy not being there will make the game alot less interesting, unless durrr plays like he plays online, then should be fine ;O
