Right after the WSOPE we have the European Poker Tour in the british city. The number of participants of the Main event of this EPT stop is a record <b>598</b>, and the first prize is <b>one million pounds</b>! Great news so far, one of our guys, Erik "<b>Pinball<img src="http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Raidern/greenstar1.png" style="border:0px;"></b>" Sjodin (<i>picture</i> is the chip leader after the end of Days 1A and 1B! He finished the day with 148,000 chips, almost 50k more than the leader of Day 1A, Mohammed Jaber.
Many famous players tried their skills at this event, some of them were WSOP champion <b>Greg Raymer</b>, <b>Johnny "bad_ip" Lodden</b>, who had just played the WSOPE ME, <b>Phil Ivey</b>, and 4 of the finalists of the upcoming WSOP Main Event final table: Darus Suharto, David "Chino" Rheem, Peter Eastgate and Ylon Shwartz.
Some of the online pros are doing really well. <b>Sorel "zangbezan24" Mizzi</b> is one of them. During one point he had a low number of chips, only 6k, but managed to recover and finished Day 1A among the big stacks. <b>Yevgeniy "Jovial Gent" Timoshenko</b>, who has been on a really good run on live tournaments lately, also survided through the first day. Gus Hansen had a really tough day, but could smile in the end. His chips were in danger many times during Day 1A, but always found the right cards when he needed them. At one hand, he managed to win a three-way pot with AQ vs AK and KK, held by Chad Brown and Sorel Mizzi respectively. Hansen finished the day with around 100k chips.
Talking about the LPers now, we can all be sure Pinball has really good stories to tell us, as he sent home <b>Chris Moneymaker</b> (held AK vs Q8s on a 679 flop), retired football player Teddy Sheringham (Sixes vs Eights) and Christer Björin, one of the most known swedish poker players. Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier and Hevad "RaiNKhAN" Khan were eliminated at some point during the day. <b>Eric "Peachy_keen" Liu</b> is also in London and is still alive. Only 121 players will be back to play Day 2.
<i>At the time of writing, on Day 2, Pinball has 128k chips, while Peachy has 93k.
