partypokers latest software update is one of the major ones, and a very interesting option comes along with it - a possibility to use real names in high stakes cash games now.
The changes started 17th of June with name change and ban of HUDs, which were ued to 'target the weak'. Now this week’s cash game option release of using real names is designed to ‘reduce player concerns around anonymity’, especially in high stakes games.
Part two of the software update is a Mac-users focused one – a new tournament lobby with a ton of improvements – a big effort by partypoker to ‘close the gap’ between what Windows users get, and their Mac counterparts, as commented by poker room officials.
What Mac users will see next time they log in will include:
Dashboard overview - a personalised lobby display showing chipstack and position during tournament play
Digital tournament clock - a clear visual improvement for players
Improved player list - this now includes rank and screen-name, and the Bounty on a players head, as well as Chips/Prizes will be displayed as the tournament progresses
Quick access sub-navigation tabs - providing quick access to vital tournament sections
Updated title bar display - the total buy-in and the tournament ID are now included.
New colours for tournament statuses – a visual enhancement for players.
Position & stack - this new data point will display the position and stack of the player at the end of each hand.
Rest of the changes included in the software update:
Both Windows and Mac users can now play six fast forward tables at a time, an increase from four.
$0.01/$0.02 games are now showing in the Fast Forward lobby for lower stakes/recreational players.
A new POWERFEST table theme includes an improved final table theme for those making a deep run in the biggest series of all.
