 In a move that comes as a huge shock to the entire poker community, Daniel Negreanu has resigned as an ambassador for PokerStars, the online poker site he’s represented for 12 years. The decision comes just days before the start of the 2019 World Series of poker and just few weeks after he married Amanda Leatherman.
With this departure, it means that Chris Moneymaker is the last poker Team Pro member remaining from the poker boom era - all other pros already left, with names like Jason Mercier, Barry Greenstein, Vanessa Selbst, Jeff Gross and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier all leaving within the past two years.
Many former PokerStars pros have left for Partypoker, including Gross and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier. More recently, Jaime Staples made the switch.
Negreanu didn’t explain his reasoning for leaving the poker site, “To all to the great people working for the company, I wish you all the best and while this is a goodbye, let’s make it a “see you later,” he wrote.
