Formerly known as Eureka Poker Tour Main Event and PokerStars National Championship, the €1,100 PokerStars-sponsored tournament annually held in Prague has built its reputation as one of the most popular mid-stakes events in Europe.
Since its establishment in 2011, the attendance has been setting record numbers in each of the subsequent editions. The bar has been pushed higher once again this year with the €1,100 EPT National attracting 2,486 entries through three starting days.
The official numbers (including the payout structure) are yet to be confirmed, but it's guaranteed that this year's turnout has easily surpassed last season's total of 2,117 entries.
Breakdown of EPT National entries:
Day 1a: 671 players (101 survived)
Day 1b: 1,200 players (180 survived)
Day 1c: 615 players (92 survived)
Each of the starting flights concluded with the field reduced to the top 15%, leaving all advancing players inside paid positions. The 373 remaining contenders will come back Monday, December 10, at 12 p.m. local time.

EPT13 Prague Main Event champion Jasper Meijer van Putten dominated the Day 1c leaderboard after scoring a massive double knockout on the bubble which saw both Mihail Nedocitanijs and PokerStars Ambassador Jaime Staples leave the tournament empty-handed. Meijer van Putten vaulted to 956,000, putting himself firmly into pole position. Famous players finishing with big stacks also featured Jan-Eric Schwippert and Walter Treccarichi, among others.
