Crazy prop bet from a poker player – $100,000 for a month of living in the dark

Strange, crazy and sometimes dangerous bets are a part of the poker world. Every now and again we hear about another one and today we have a prop bet piece of news that you don't come upon every day.

Social media in a few previous days are full of gossips about a poker player who agreed to spend a month in darkenss. Yes, this person has agreed to live for 30 days in a dark room with a bath, fridge and toilet! The bet? $100,000 to win! The whole thing was discussed among others by Danielle Andersen and Mike Matusow.

The rules are as follows:
Poker player must spend 30 days in darkenss and cannot contact other people
The fridge will contain fresh food and water replaced regularly
He has access to bed, cosmetics, Rubik's cube, and a rocket
He cannot drink alcohol, use drugs and take sleeping pills
The reaction of the poker community was fast as players love such things. Mike Matusow's post (below) as what Danielle Andersen were commented by followers and game fans who said that it can't be done.

“Some poker player made $100,000 prop bet that he could sleep in a bathroom with shower & refrigerator in complete darkness for 30 days. No clock Nothing and is going to be drug tested and can’t take anything to fall asleep or anything do you think he can make it? I don’t.”

Some people were very harsh about it. Journalist Paul Oresteen said this bet is mentally and physically devastating. Nolan Dalla added there is nothing interesting about it, unless someone is interested in tortures and mental injuries.

In the past scientists were examining how isolation influences people and they came to the conclusion that even a short solitary period can cause fear, phobias and paranoid states. After 2 days there were halucinations reported. BBC reported that the experiment was planned for two weeks but it had to be shortened.

“I like this bet. I think with the right mindset and the afore-mentioned conditions one can take it without any permanent damage” – said grinder Josh West.

If he follows the rules 1o1 there s a huge chance he will become mentally insane at some point... no light, no human contact, nothing to kill the boredom, he s basically being in a VIP solitary cell, except there wont be guards he could yell at even.

This is torture. It should not be attempted. these prop bets are beyond stupid imo, can't people really think of better ways to spend $100k?

Practice meditation and focus on your internal world. Time will pass quickly. Easiest money. How do I get in on this? Haha

Stretch, work out, pretend you're blind and in jail, with 100k stashed from robbing a bank that you'll be able to enjoy after you get out. Would be soo much fun.

Anyone that says this is easy doesn't understand how long 30 days of no light exposure really is.

Don't think I would even try doing this... Doesn't seem healthy.

Would 100% do it if I could at least write.. they should allow the guy to write. It would be interesting to see the madness unravel

So there is actually no level of light that is visible? When they said cosmetics and rubix cube I assumed it was going to be a dim room but light enough that objects could be made out.

A month in pitch black in a room with no way to tell time, no human contact and no distractions/entertainment is absurd. If that's the scenario I think the chance of success is close to 0, and probability of psychological damage is very high. Definitely agree with those who are saying it shouldn't be done.
