Triton SHR Series cash game were happening latetly and there were some massive pots. Buy-in to the game was KRW 1,000,000,000 (around 900,000$), and the blinds 3,000,000/6,000,000/6,000,000 (2,700$/5,400$/7,100$). Among the participants we have got players like Tom Dwan, Paul Phua, Mikita Badziakouski and Sam Greenwood. After few big pots what happened was the second biggest televised pot in the history of poker.
Now we are on to the biggest hand that took place in the whole series.
Paul Phua in the UTG decided to straddle for KRW 12,000,000 KRW and surprisingly he got AA. Dominik Nitsche joined in with KQ in the cutoff and he raised for 30,000,000. Tom Dwan was in the big blind with AQ and he re-raised to 120,000,000. Paul Phua raised yet again to 320,000,000. Dominik Nitsche folded and Tom Dwan analyzed the situation for a few minutes before announcing all-in for KRW 1,288,000,000. Paul Phua was waiting exactly for that and called. The pot was KRW 2,615,000,000 that is $2,353,500! Durrrr quit the table straight after the hand was over.

It's worth adding that this was the second biggest pot in the history of televised pokera. Previous record was in May this year at Triton SHRS in Montenegro. The buy-in for that game was 1,000,000 euro. Record pot was €2,090,000, that is about $2,469,335.

With the straddle its like a less than 100bb stack 5bet shove with AQo which isn't automatic but is something you have to do sometimes. Also the 4bettor is the one who posted the straddle, and is certainly a player who is capable of goofy stuff and doesn't care about money. However from what I've seen he isn't particularly aggressive. Also the timing seemed bad to shove here. Paul bet Tom off of a couple other pots and was already up huge for the session. He doesn't seem like the bullying type and will mainly make huge moves when he's stuck or bored.
trying to play optimally against Paul Phua would be a big mistake

hes just doing so poorly with AQo. Esp vs someone who seems like the type of fish to overcall 3bets instead of 4betting.

Yes he has more people behind him but you have them OOP on you and a lot of dead money, I open the same range pretty much on straddle tables if not wider in late position

Regs played with their own money for TV (not sure, but I assume staking and action sharing wasn't as widespread)
And it was the biggest game by far you knew about

I haven't even been watching these, probably won't even though they are on youtube

I play at regular mortal stakes, it’s just from what I’ve seen watching all the Triton cash games. There’s a fair amount of insane over-aggro play, and I’ve seen Paul make that sort of play before but the timing just didn’t seem right for it here. Obviously I can see that he has AA though.

if it was like SB just 5bet jamming AQo over a cold 4bet from BB, that's seen as bad by pio/monker. Sure, low suited aces are a different story and make popular 5bet bluff hands in pio. i don't really understand snowies results. They seem to differ from pio/monker esp in early position 3b/4b spots.
