When it seemed that Fernando „JNandez” Habegger leaving Uspwing Poker is old news the character has suddenly come back and together with Doug Polk they throw accusations at each other!

The mess started back in 2017. We all heard the news about “JNandez” quitting Upswing Poker. PLO expert posted a video in which he claimed he was getting too little money for his videos and production costs went up. Many people expected him to start his own site and so he did a few months afterwards.

Polk had a big problem. Some of his users bought training packages for 6 months or more and Habegger quit after three, thanks to a favorable deal he had signed with Upswing.

This is not all. Now it seems three coaches left Habegger's site as he was supposedly late with payments. “JNandez” is said to owe them even for scarfs that one player's mother made for him. Poker player claims he was afraid of being cheated and it provoked Polk to say that his ex-fellow worker basically cheated an older lady.

Information about employment conditions quickly go to the 2+2 forum. “JNandez” promised people to share profits with them, but had little contribution in the website himself. He was consistenly breaking his word and finally people had enough.

Of course “JNandez” decided to fight back and he published a video titled “Whole truth about Doug Polk, Joe Ingram any my cooperation with Upswing Poker”. In the video he says he initially agreed to 25% share. Courses were worth $1,000 at the beginning.

The problem for him was Joey Ingram and his deal with Upswing Poker. According to Swiss player Ingram was earning more for promoting the materials thatn their author. Poker player complained about it when he met the site's owner in Las Vegas. During the first meeting Polk ignored him and it left a bitter aftertaste.

According to “JNandeza” the company still owes him $90,000. He considered hiring people, but it would be pricey as he lives in Switzerland. Interestingly “JNandez” also revealed that Upswing bought… RunitOncePoker!

Doug decided it was time to retaliate and he posted a “Let's talk about facts” video. In it Polk argues that Habegger was receiving decent money for his work. He showed the deal as well as PayPal print screens with some Skype conversations as well.

– The numbers are fair and square. I don't know how he calculated this $90k or $100k – says Doug, surprised.

Polk also explains that Habegger was doing a good job with his videos, but while he was still working for Upswing Poker he already started building another site. Polk also emphasizes Joey Ingram did NOT earn more. Now Polk considers going to the court with it – videos created by “JNandeza” had already been sent to his lawyers.

– I take care of my business, because I am proud of what I created. I have worked really hard over the last few years to make Upswing what it is today. I am very fond of our community and all those who enjoy and learn from training videos. Since Fernando accuses me without evidence nor reason, I cannot stay silent.

“JNandez” responded to Polk's statement. He showed different data accusing Doug of lying about profits. He also stated that he wanted to leave this one alone, but Polk attacked him and he has to protect his name. Therefore he challenged Doug to a boxing match!

– If you want to go after me, fine, but let's compete on neutral ground. I propose a $50,000 boxing match. Not for the money. If I win against you, Doug Polk, I will use the money to buy in as many players as possible to the next year's WSOP Colossus. My intention is to defend my good name and poker integrity.

no clue who Jnandez is, but if these guys are fighting publicly via Youtube shouldn't you also post a video of him giving his side of the story, or at least link to it?

havent watched either video but I have seen some Jnan streams before and practically fell asleep, whereas Ingram and Polk can keep my attention. So what if Joey makes more for doing nothing? Brands are important and "celebrity status" is relevant. This is like whining that Tom Cruise makes more than Tom Hanks even though Hanks is the better actor.

bye now

ya for sure the brand name is so so so so relevant. Jnandez was a nobody and after upswing pretty much all community knows him, before it was just plo.

Although i agree it was messed up that affiliates promoted almost immediately on launch which caused nandez to lose some money but after his own employees call him out its obvious who the problem is.

I tried years ago watching nandez video of PLO due to friends saying its good but I couldnt stand his english but happy to see he has improved a lot!

that hand knit scarf thing sounds like the scummiest thing ever.

I watched some of jnandez video and he didn't really do a good job of making the case. He kept saying 'in my opinion....this is what happened', so it seemed he was offering opinions which could or could not be true, rather than just cold hard facts which he should have done. (obviously he shouldn't lie about what the facts are.) He should realise that any jury isn't going to convict someone on opinions...

Yeah it is kinda stupid that joey made so much from not doing much at all, jnandez shouldn't have locked himself into any contract where he had to coach for 6months. Or if he did he should have powered through it.
