Phil Hellmuth has won his 15th WSOP bracelet at last! Phil, called “Poker Brat” was the best in $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em event (30-minute blinds). For this performance he has also received $485,082 .

Buy-in $5,000 was paid 452 times which resulted in $2,101,800 prize pool. First day included twenty blind levels and only 39 players advanced.

At one point top stacks where amongst Chance Kornuth, Liv Boeree and Phil Hellmuth. Boree had to say goodbye very quickly though. First she lost a big pot to Hellmuth and then she gave the rest of chips to Shawn Daniels, and she busted out at 31th for $11,176 soon after.

The event was played very well by Erick Hicks, who finished on 9th position ($30,881). Hicks risked it all with QQ and then we also had an all-in from Paul Fontan, who was holding KJ. They were both called by Aliaksei Boika who turned kings. No help on board.

Finally he had to settle for place 4th and $142,458. Aliaksei lost a lot of chips and then open-shoved twice. In the second instance he was called by Steven Wolansky, with kings. AK Boika turned over was not enough.

Afterwards there were only three players remaining – Wolansky, Hellmuth and Alan Sternberg. Hellmuth had then the smallest stack, but it soon changed. “Poker Brat” risked his last ten big blinds with A5. Sternberg called with yet kings again, but the board gave Hellmuth two pair.

Soon after that it was Sternberg who had to go all-in. He chose J9 and lost his stack when Wolansky showed AQ. The flop included a jack, but then came a queen and Stenberg was ready to collect $204,789 for third place.

Wolansky had a huge lead when the heads-up with Hellmuth started. “Poker Brat” managed to double up with KT against KJ and finally won the event.

In the last hand Wolansky went all-in. Hellmuth called him with threes and Wolansky had A9. Flop was 923, which meant a set for Phil and bad news for Wolansky. Turn and river changed nothing and Hellmuth added one more WSOP trophy to his collection.
