PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree appears in a new video released last week about artificial intelligence and poker, sponsored by HP.

The video is sponsored by Hewlett-Packard (HP) and has so far gotten over 219,000 views on youtube. Boeree is the main staar, there are also group of other people who appear in the video, like Carnegie Mellon professor Dr. Tuomas Sandholm:
"Earlier this year, Libratus, an artificial intelligence, made headlines by besting poker champions from around the world in Texas Hold ‘Em. Astrophysicist and professional poker player Liv Boeree looks beyond the game to imagine how a supercomputer-driven AI can solve some of humanity’s biggest problems. Invented by Carnegie Mellon professor Dr. Tuomas Sandholm and powered by HPE technology, Libratus is capable of much more than mastering a mathematically-complex card game. It has the potential to answer some of our most enduring and complex questions about the nature of the universe."

You can watch the video here:

Boeree won the 10 EPT San Remo Main Event for €1,250,000. Boeree also won a WSOP bracelet this year after she and her boyfriend Igor Kurganov took down the $10,000 No Limit Hold'em - Tag Team Championship for $136,982 paydays each.

feels bad when seeing others give you undeniable hints that you are way past your biological prime

How would homo sapiens motivate himself in an utopian world where AI does all the work? What direction are we going to evolve if we don't become all kind of retarded? Complex AI is already here and it brings many questions with itself.

You're kidding right? The whole idea of humanity is to move from physical work to intellectual one.

Expiate   Bulgaria. Nov 21 2017 19:36. Posts 236

But AI is already better in many fields regarding the intellectual work. Imagine 100 years from now - maybe only 0.00001% of the people will do intellectual work better than the AI. What are others gonna do?

^ They will do intellectual work anyway, for the fun of it. It's not like people have stopped playing chess once bots got better than humans.

This is my assumption too, but then how much long do you think humans will play chess for example? Will the new generations get hooked to it knowing from little kids it is a solved game. I dunno, a lot of uncertain stuff.

suicide has gone through the roof in countries with less manual labor tho, having all necesities provided opens room for a lot of thoughts and that can be very bad for many ppl

thats also cause physical activity has gone down and we still need it to fulfill ourselves, thats why gyms are so popular tbh - its not really about getting ripped

The main problem is the motivation. One day robots/AI will do everything better - be it work, physical, mental activities. A person will have the option of course to self improve knowing that he won't ever reach the level of AI. And what do you do then? Still have fun, pretend you have fun and live with it, don't have fun and suicide? It's a topic that will come more and more when robots start to replace people jobs.

if you guys are really interested in this topic, one of my old proffessors is writing a book on how humans will transition, once machines can do all the mental work. I read/spellchecked the draft of his book. Nicholas Agar is his name

This is what happens

and is already happening.

We are basically at the peak of civilization and things will continue breaking down from here. Humanity is doomed. Make the best of it and don't have kids
