Many poker fans have eagerly been waiting for some information on Phil Galfond's upcoming poker website, but the online poker legend instead surprised the poker world at the beginning of last week by announcing he is now lauching a Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) site, called Draftboard. Quite a move from poker, huh?

Galfond's online poker room has been in the works for quite a long time now and the community is starting to wonder if it's still being designed. Poker pro Jason Mo even mocked Galfond's project and bought the Run It Once Poker. At present the domain redirects to his own Twitter account.

“It looks like ill have my poker website up before galfond and runitonce idiots. I heard they don't even own the domain for their site

Phil Galfond's online poker room is not there yet, but Joey Ingram invited the man to his Poker Podcast few days ago to talk about his upcoming site. It looks like the project is still very much on his mind, though he couldn't really give any clear time of its start.

I always thought a poker site based on subscription fees rather than rake would be a good idea, but you only have to pay full subscription if you log lots of volume. so it's like $100 a month subscription for full volume players but $0 if you play less than 100 hands. Or perhaps the subscription comes out of monthly profit, so the fish don't have to pay rake. And the site could be successful if it was low marketing, more word of mouth based. Might be tougher competition but rake would be zero.

One of 3 non decent human beings on a site of 5 people with between 2-3 decent human beingsLast edit: 18/10/2017 03:04

I dont like it at all, I dont thing fish care that much about rake so you would get tough games and regs carrying all the rake... so basically you create a Stars #2 but without the millions in advertizing
