The Crown Melbourne released the new schedule for the 2018 Aussie Millions Poker Championship just yesterday and we are sad to say that $250,000 Aussie Millions challenge is no longer on the list.

The 2018 Aussie Millions will feature 26 different events with buy-ins ranging from AU$1,150 to AU$100,000. The AU$250,000 buy-in Challenge will not run in 2018 like we mentioned - last year the event failed to attract enough players to even start, and the casino doesn't want to repeat that mistake as it's a bad PR.

The AU$250,000 Challenge was first introduced to the schedule in 2011. Erik Seidel won the inaugural event for AU$2,5 million. Phil Ivey was the most successful player there though, as he managed to win the event three times in 2012, 2014 and 2015 for a combined AU$8,2 million.

Even though the AU$250,000 event is removed, there will be AU$25K, AU$50K and AU$100K Challenges to ensure there is still enough high roller action.

The 2018 Aussie Millions will run from Jan. 17 through Feb. 5 and the AU$10,600 Main Event is scheduled to begin Jan. 28, with the final table playing out Feb. 4. See the full schedule from here.
