Some good news for poker economy (mostly World Series of Poker series though) in United States: state of Nevada is considering lowering the age of when gambling is allowed to 18 years, similiar to what we can see accross most of Europe.

A new bill has been sponsored by the Nevada Assembly which would, like we just mentioned, lower the legal gambling age from 21 to 18. The bill was intrudced by Jim Wheeler. "Assembly Bill 86" says “if you’re old enough to serve our country, in foreign lands … you’re old enough to come to Las Vegas or Reno or Lake Tahoe and have a good time.”

Do you think this should be done? It's quite common for 18-21 year old players to crush poker tournamnets on European scene, as we've seen from the future (players like Fedor Holz, Ole Schemion and Dzmitry Urbanovich come to mind, all of which fall under the category).
Also, we can also remind you about Annette Obrestad, who was won the first ever World Series of Poker Europe Main Event in London while being just 19 years old, two years before she could even participate in USA-based tournaments.

There are no plans to also reduce the state drinking age to 18.

I don't see this working with the legal drinking age of 21 still in place. Seems inconvenient to filter drinks in a place handing out free drinks. But money talks who knows.

Most 18 year olds don't have alot of disposable income.

I think it's a bad idea honestly

if poker is dangerous to them i would rank sports betting as a Kodiak grizzly bear who smells blood after you just threw a javelin into his cub - RaiNKhAN

If this is the logic, I have a better idea, raise the age of going to fight to 21.

poker is soooo much easier when you flop sets

Even better, outside of Legal Gambling institutions gaining access to the 18-21 year old market, what is the argument for this change?

I wish one of your guys had children if I could kick them in the fucking head or stomp on their testicles so you can feel my pain because thats the pain I have waking up everyday -- Mike Tyson
