Doyle Brunson have given up playing tournaments due to his age, but the living poker legend is still playing the biggest live cash tables on daily basis. He is still a standard guest of Bobbys Room in Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas.
Just few days ago Doyle Brunson shared some interesting details on his Twitter, regarding the Bellagio Big Game. According to Brunson, one mysterious player had ran up his/her $12,000 stack into $550,000 playing in the $2,000/$4,000 (Mix Games). The ten-time WSOP bracelet winner didn’t reveal what was the player’s original buy-in for the big game: “I saw a player who made 550k out of just 12 at 2-4k limits. I cannot say his name though”
Brunson also revealed that there had been “some fireworks” after two unnamed high-stakes players had been playing for a mere 48 hours and finally ended their brawl so frustrated that they started throwing $150,000 chips around the poker room:
“There were some fireworks at Bobby’s room too. Two players were playing for 48 hours, got tilted and threw 150k worth chips all over the floor”.
We don't officially know who the players were, but recently Patrik Antonius has been posting updates from Bellagio and there have been rumors about Phil Ivey and David Oppenheim also playing regularly in the past days.
Doyle didn't end up too well himself, as he said he lost $150,000.
