The Monte Carlo One Drop Extravaganza began on Friday in Monaco with the biggest buy-in tournament in poker history – the €1,000,000 Big One for One Drop with unlimited re-entry.

The tournament attracted a total of 26 players on the first day and two re-entries were made. This means that the Big One and one side event have so far generated €3,116,708 for the charity, since no new players registered during late registration on Day 2. With €11,111,111 for first place, there was quite some tension amongst the players.

The first elimination was none other than the founder of One Drop fundation, Guy Laliberté. It seems that getting coached by the biggest winner in the history, Daniel Negreanu himself, who stood by his side, wasnt enough.

Final table started with former online grinder and also a former CEO of Matchbook, Andrew "ClockWyze" Pantling leading the 8-handed final table with over 31 million in chips. Unfortunately he busted at 6th place in the end.
Finally after three days of action, the 2016 Monte-Carlo One Drop Extravaganza €1,000,000-buy-in Big One For One Drop has it's champion - Canadian player who lives in Hong Kong, Elton Tsang, won the third biggest prize in the history of poker and took home €11,111,111. He defeated a final table that included: Andrew Pantling, James Bord, Rick Salomon, Haralabos Voulgaris, Cary Katz, Brandon Steven and Anatoly Gurtovoy. If you would like to read a full report from the final table, check the WSOP.com live reporting page.

With this win Tsang jumps from around 3,000th place on all-time money list to 21st spot.

Final Table Results

1 Elton Tsang Hong Kong €11,111,111
2 Anatoly Gurtovoy Russia €5,427,781

4 James Bord United Kingdom €2,100,000
5 Cary Katz United States €1,750,000
6 Andrew Pantling Canada €1,500,000

It appears to me that he is a some kind of male-gold digger that got rich selling his sex tape with Pairs Hilton and then somehow managed to seduce other actresses, pretty shady character

you don't have to "seduce" women after they know you slept with paris hilton

It seems to be not very profitable in the long run to play those kind of hands. - Gus Hansen

Isn't Voulgaris the guy who got rich by sports betting?

that is his public image and what he tells people in interviews. however he never mentions that he was one of the main original investors in the online sportsbook WagerStreet (now part of TheGreek).

the guy is obviously very bright and knows a ton about basketball, but there are a lot of things about the standard story he gives that make no sense at all. the Lakers bet he supposedly made with his life roll that got him started and took 6 months to payoff would have been made after the formation of WagerStreet. not to mention the obvious stupidity of putting your life roll on a bet that takes that long to pay off, regardless of how certain you are about your edge.

he also claimed to have made a killing betting Nets 2H unders from 2010-2012, based on the logic that their coach at the time (Avery Johnson) micro-managed games more in the second half, and by the time their PG (Deron Williams) got the plays from him, a bunch of time had run off the shot clock. http://aloneinthecorner.com/post/39094525339/my-thoughts-on-avery-being-fired

however this claim makes no sense when you look at the Nets totals results versus opening/closing lines during that time period:

Nets against 2h closing total lines from 6/8/2010 to 12/27/2012:

home
39 under
51 over

away:
under 42
over 40
push 3

total:
81 under
91 over

Nets against 2h total opening lines from 6/8/2010 to 12/27/2012:

home:
39 under
50 over
1 push

away:
40 under
41 over
4 push

total:
79 under
91 over
5 push

frankly i enjoy hearing him talk about basketball and i wouldn't be surprised if he's a successful bettor, however his standard background story is almost certainly misleading.

Ricks alright at poker he brought a really fun game to the pokerstars.net big game imo, he does seem a lil shady, but cmon, hes screwing porn stars left n right, while most of us use our left n right thinking about pornstars. i respect him, he even FT'd the one drop for millions a few yrs ago i do believe, shows hes kinda good.

also saw him tank fold KK vs AA in a live cashgame which is pretty good if u ask me.

Thanks, I didn't know anything beyond the standard story.
