Fedor Holz has been winning high buy-in events all summer but tonight he earned his first EPT Super High Roller title after demolishing the 102-entry field at EPT13 Barcelona. Holz, who beat Canadian pro Sam Greenwood heads-up, received €1,300,300 along with the coveted trophy. The 22-year-old extended is outstanding streak of great results bringing his total live winnings for this year alone to more than $16 million. Holz is now the worldwide #1 player according to the Global Poker Index.
At the end of the summer's World Series, Holz said he would be retiring from being a full time poker pro. However, he said he's still going to travel at attend the world's largest events. Holz first tasted success at EPT Barcelona two years ago, cashing five times including his €2k NL Event win. That was just one month before the result that put his name firmly in the history books: winning the 2014 WCOOP Main Event for $1,300,000. Since then, Holz has established himself as one of the most successful players in the game's history. His live winnings now amount to nearly $20 million and he's currently ninth in the all-time money list.
Runner-up Greenwood, who hails from Toronto, took €903,600 for second place - his biggest cash of his career. This is the 27-year-old's second runner-up finish in EPT €50k Super High Rollers. He also made it to heads-up at EPT12 Prague, taking €583,500. Greenwood's live earnings now total more than $4.2 million and place him in 13th place in the Canadian all-time money list. Greenwood is also very successful online, playing as "Str8$$$Homey" on PkerStars. He has one WCOOP and two SCOOP titles under his belt.
Greenwood's fellow countryman Timothy Adams was eliminated in third place, earning €597,500. EPT12 Grand Final €25k High Roller runner-up Alexandros Kolonias departed in fourth place while Azeri businessman Ahadpur Khangah earned €377,100 for finishing fifth. Defending champion Sylvain Loosli made it to the final table again but bust in sixth place. The final table also included Daniel Dvoress and Day 1 chip leader Julian Stuer.

There were 102 entries to the €50k SHR (78 unique players + 24 re-entries) as thirteen players joined the field at start of Day 2 to beat last year's edition by three registrations. A record-breaking field also brought a bigger prize pool - the top 13 players shared €4,897,530 this time.
