Phil Hellmuth gets crushed in cash games, loses over $320,000

The World Series of Poker is starting very soon, but there is one person that is for sure waiting for it as noone else - the 14-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth. He reported on his social media this week that he can't wait for WSOP to start, as he's been playing cash games up to this point this year and he's having terrible results.

But it's nost just cash games - Hellmuth haven't cashed in a poker tournament since October 2015.

Phil is a regular at a home cash game in Bay Area - he Tweeted that he had “personal record” losses in the game, but didn't comment on how much it was. Just a week later he followed that by losing over $100,000 in a cash game in Florida, so just imagine what his score in Bay Area must have been.

Regarding Bay Area games, Hellmuth often goes against Chamath Palihapitiya, Zynga Founder Mark Pincus, David Sacks, Jason Calacanis and NBA player David Lee - the line-up doesn't look very strong, so Hellmuth should be coming out as a winner pretty often.

Altogether, according to his estimates he has lost roughly $320,000 in recent weeks. However, the downswing can definitely turn around quickly. He had as many as 7 cashes in WSOP events last year, including capturing his 14th bracelet there. Will he be able to repeat that this year?

I mean, his skill level aside, everyone runs bad sometimes so it's not prudent to judge.

If Hellmuth was as smart as he thinks, he would've retired from cash games years ago or at least tried to improve.
