This is probably the best news regarding the poker market in USA in a long, long time: PokerStars has been approved to return to the United States! So far it's only New Jersey, but that's a milestone for the poker in USA.

It was more then four years, when the Black Friday happened and we saw PokerStars deal last hand to American players.

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) granted today Amaya, owner of PokerStars and FullTilt approval from regulators:
"We are very pleased to add New Jersey to the long list of regulated markets that have found PokerStars and Full Tilt suitable to offer real-money online gaming," David Baazov, Chairman and CEO of Amaya, said in a press release. "I want to thank the DGE for their thorough and fair review of our business. We look forward to bringing our popular brands, innovative technology, marketing prowess and world-class security and game integrity to the growing New Jersey online gaming market. We anticipate providing additional details of our launch plans in the near future."

It's still unknown hen Amaya is going operational in New Jersey (it may take even few months), but it's sure that they will join WSOP.com, 888, Pparty poker and Borgata as online poker options in New Jersey.

"Since the acquisition, we have consistently delivered on our stated strategy," Baazov continued. "Today's announcement follows the divesture of our B2B businesses for total gross proceeds of approximately US$524.8 million; the launch of casino games on PokerStars, which we estimate has one of the largest active user bases of any online casino; the refinancing of our long term debt and the reduction of our annual interest expense by approximately US$62 million. We are excited about our new product pipeline and enthusiastic that we will experience growth in existing and emerging markets in the future."

The biggest luckbox in poker from the last 10 years is the CEO of Amaya, that guy has won every single allin in his business life

I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time

Sadly I doubt it will be like France, where outsiders can play :/

it will be segregated, then it will go with other player pools, deleware, pa ny and cali when they get there bills passed and other states will be able to opt in.

NJ is also looking to work with Europe on a shared player pool, they want more revenue and understand this is how to get it.

Looks pretty sweet to me, gonna be going there often thats for sure.

It seems to be not very profitable in the long run to play those kind of hands. - Gus Hansen
