Day Eight in Vegas
   TwistedEcho, June 14

Mig and rainkhan went to play the $5k NLHE WSOP event, and myself and ket headed to the venetian to play the $550 since you got $10k in chips, and would probably have much more play than wsop events (and obv be much softer then the $5k WSOP event).

Pretty quickly i bled my stack off to 8500 by missing flops. Then at 50/100 utg limps, really aggro guy in MP makes it 600 and decent button calls. I was in the SB and made it 2000 to go with AsAh. utg tanks for ages (and later claims he had QcQs) and folds, and both MP and button calls. Flop comes KsQh6s and i fire 4k and take it down, aggro guy claiming he had JhJd.

I pickup a few pots here and there, and get up to 13k, when an interesting hand comes up. There is a really bad asian dude at my table who seems to just want to gamble. He open raises to 1200 at 100/200 with a 6k stack. The decent aggro dude makes it 3500 and i have JJ on the button. While the aggro dude seems decent, im not sure he is creative enough to isolate the moron with AJ or 99, so i folded.

I make first break with about 14k and ket has 20k since some moron gets allin after chasing a one card straight, and ket obv has the nuts.

When i return, blinds are 100/200/25. A reaaaaally bad player opens in EP to 700 (his standard raise) and i call in the BB with AsTs. Flop comes KsJh9d and i check, and he checks behind instantly. The turn is the most interesting turncard, the 7s giving me a double gutter and the flush draw. I lead for 1300 and he makes it 4k. I really wasn't sure what to do here, counted out a push and ended up just calling. The river was Qc and i shove, and he turbo folds.

At this point im up to $18k and start trying to open up and rape the table at 200/400/25. The table keep playing back at me, and my image is horrible. The same moron dude from the AcTc hand minraises to 800, and the really aggro dude calls on the button, obv not a good hand. I overcall in the BB with 6h4c and check in the dark. Flop comes QsJh7d and the preflop raiser checks. Aggro dude makes it 1600 and i checkraise to 4500. He thinks and finally folds his junk, and i table my 6h4c. He doesn't look too amused but ends up slowing down his raising. I then raise Jh3s from the CO and accidently expose them when everyone folds and i muck. I now have the worse table image ever!

At 200/400/25 i raise JsJh to 1200, and the guy who commented on my Jh3s hand pushes for 8500. The sb is a young internet kid, who ends up coldcalling with 3k behind. I fold and guy has QsTd and the SB has AsQc. Oops.

I then just steal a few pots, and get up to 21k at the next break, ket is down to 16k but amazingly still in the tournament!

When we return to play, it is 400/800/75. I pick up AhKh utg+1 and make it 2500. Some moron in MP pushes for 10k, and its folded around to a fairly tight guy in the SB. He now goes hard into the tank, and looks really confused. He counts out a coldcall (with a 30k stack) and just looks really confused. After about a minute he asks how much i have behind, and thinks even more. He finally coldcalls, and i shove. He now goes into the tank again (lol) for like 10k more into a now 45k pot. He eventually calls with 9h9d and the MP has AsJc. The flop comes 7h7d4h but i don't get there and bust.

I then register for a $130 sng while waiting for ket, and end up sitting next to TheActionKid. Everyone sucked in the sng, and ActionKid didn't seem that great either. I bust him at 100/200 when he shoves the sb with 1100 blind, and i call with Qs2c which holds vs his 5d3h. I then bust another dude who shoved sb v bb with K6 and i had As6d. The sng paid $550 to top two, and i was a big chipleader with 5 left. I then shove my sb with two cards into some woman who calls with KsJh and wins.

I have a $100 LL with some guy, and the blinds now go up to 200/400. He raises to 1200 with a 3k stack on the CO, and i repush on the button with 3800 with AhQc. He has As2c and wins the hand, which cripples me and i bust the next hand losing the sng and the LL.

While i am playing ket comes over having busted with KK v AA v QQ and we head back to the house. We get in touch with kickdog and myth, and arrange to meet up for something to eat. We go to some casino i forget, and get a really good chinese, and obv i lose the creditcard roulette. We decide to go play some 1/3 uncapped at the wynn, and i was really tired and played horrible, spewing off about $1100 or so when me and ket finally decide to call it a night.

We get back to the house to find rainkhan still up, he has 50k in the $5k wsop, and mig has about 110k and have made it into the second day.

Day Seven in Vegas
   TwistedEcho, June 13

Day Seven i was really lazy and stayed in bed hungover till 3pm. Ket and mig were sidebetting on various games like chess, typer shark, online minigolf and text twist.

Rain was the last one to bust the $1500 (only mig and rain entered) and got back an hour before the stars $1k started. He didn't have a laptop so left to buy one after registering. He got back an hour into the 1k after blinding down to about 15bb, but still outlasted ket and mig!

Mig made two finals in some small UB tournaments, and i went deep in the $1k busting in 11th. My bust hand was pretty sick, and mig thought it was pretty good but rain hated it.

Seat 1: Shaddy Boy (177981 in chips)

TwistedEcho: raises 35146 to 68574 and is all-in

Basically on the flop, i expected Shaddy Boy to cbet any real hands. Once everyone checked through i assumed i had the best hand, so lead the turn for value/protection. When Shaddy coldcalled i figured he didn't have much, and knowing Plz is a decent player i figured Plz's range is a ton of bluff/semibluff hands - much more than real hands.

Sadly Shaddy Boy somehow had JTo here and busted me. I then lost $100 playing text twist vs mig.com because he runs sick good and gets easy 6 letters. That was about it, Day Eight will have several fun tournament hands from the venetian $540, so stay tuned for an actually interesting post coming up !

Day Five and Six in Vegas
   TwistedEcho, June 12

This is a joint post since both days were fairly boring. I woke up hungover at like 8am on sunday, and realised the sunday warmup was at 9.30am. I stayed up to play the warmup and went pretty deep, busting 150th with AA vs AJo allin preflop (AJo made quads). I proceeded to drop 3k for sunday mtts, and went deep in the $650 wsop sat. With 45 left and 35 getting a seat, rainkhan returned after cashing for 15k in the $1500 event. He was going to take us out for dinner so i let ryan (daut44) take over. Not only did he bust in 40th place getting my buyin back instead of 10k, he also wasted my FPPs on a chris moneymaker coin.

We went out to a decent asian resturant with myth, mig, ket, rain and myself and then registered for the $2500 WSOP.

The next day we all went to play the $2500. I was at a table with Mike Gratz and some random 2p2er, and chipped up to 8k pretty quickly.

I was also sitting opposite erica schoenberg's table, and she is ridic hot. She distacted me a fair amount Also, when i busted i bumped into Teddy Sheringham who recognised me, and said hi. Awesome

At 50/100 the button raised to 300 and i coldcalled in the bb with 45d. Flop came AdKd8x and i checkraised his 250 bet to 750. He called and the turn came Ax. That card pretty much sucked to bluff on, but i fired out 1200 and he thought for 2 mins before calling. The river was some random blank, and i fired for 3k and he tanked for at least 5 mins. Some kid at the table calls the clock on him and he finally calls with KTo. Oops.

I move table to seat 7, seaty 8 is the grinder with 10, seat 10 is gavin smith and seat one with a monster stack is C.K.Hua. Grinder tells me that C.K got all his chips at 50/100 in a limped pot (C.K completed sb with K9) flop comes 689 and CK gets allin three ways when both opponents have T7 and he boats up. Grinder and gavin smith play pretty badly and bust, and mig moves to my table with position on me. At 100/200/25 CK raises to 700 utg, and i have 3200. I shove in the CO with black aces and he calls with AKo. Flop comes all hearts giving him a flush draw, and he rivers his flush.

I'm pretty annoyed so go out drinking with 2p2ers. We end up going to binions and get a private 1/2 PLO8 table, and over the last 7 hours i dropped about $2k while drinking. I won some back eventually and finided down about $800. I then lost $100 propbetting on video poker, and lost creditcard roulette for $150 breakfast.

Sorry for the lack of details etc, but i ran so bad over these days this is all i can be bothered to write about. One O8 hand, its straddles and minraised blind (standard for our table) and random donk pots it after some action. I repot with AA52 to $200 with a $500 stack, and he calls. Flop comes TT5 and i shove, and he has KKT3 obv. I dunno, this blog post kinda sucks but its 7am and i have just got in so this will have to do. The $1500 WSOP shootout starts in 5 hours, so i will probably skip that and play online for day.

Day Four in Vegas
   TwistedEcho, June 10

I am fairly drunk, so hopefully this is coherent enough to read.

I got up about 3pm as I couldn't register easily for the $1500NL WSOP event. Mig informed me that there was a $1k bellagio tournament at 7pm each day, so I decided to play that. Myth drove myself and ket to the bellagio at 5pm to get some food, and I was going to sign up for the tournament and they were going to play cash. We get to the bellagio and find out there was a tournament at 1pm, so I decide im going to donate money at cash.

We go to a decent Asian restaurant to eat first, but my meal is pretty bad. We go to play cash but the queues are so long so head to Caesars palace.

I follow myth to a 1/3 NL table where you could buyin for $500, and ket goes to play 5/10. I only buyin for $300 because I didn't realise you could buyin for more, and end up topping up to 500 an orbit in. Sadly due to drinking I don't remember too many pots, so you'll have to forgive that.

One hand random moron raises to 12, myth calls, button calls and I call with K9c. Flop comes 532dd and preflop raiser doesn't cbet. Myth bets $20 and I coldcall, and lead for $45 on the Ac turn. He tanks and finally folds, probably with air.

Then random kid who seems to be playing pretty decent LAG raises two limpers to $15. I call with KTd in position and both limpers call. Flop comes Ah Th Tc and its checked to me. Its the first time he hasn't cbet (he cbet twice into multiple people) and I bet $50 hoping to look like a bluff. Its folded to the preflop raiser who makes some speech about 'why $50' and finally calls. Turn is the Qh and he checks. We are 3 buyins deep so I check behind, and snapcall when he bets $50 on the 4d river with AQ.

Another hand i'm up to $700 and get KK in EP. I raise to 15 and get 5 callers including the bad lagtard button with $600. Flop comes Ts 6s 5d and I cbet $55. Button coldcalls and SB checkraises to $100. I announce allin and the dealer informs me I can't move allin. (oops, stupid live poker) and I call. Button now tanks, and finally calls too. The turn is 7s which is a sick horrible card, and I check and he turbo checks behind. River is 2s and I figure he hasn't got much and bet $100, he calls with 9s7h... lolz.

So i'm up to $1100 (+600 profit) and ket comes to play, the empty seat being to my left. While he gets his chips I move to that seat so I can have position on ket, shippp. He isn't pleased but whatever.

I now start drinking so my memory isn't wonderful, but ket manages to stack myth twice, making myth -$1200. He seems really upset and goes off for a walk, and eventually leaves to go home.

At this point ket is raping all the random morons, and has like 1500, and I have 1100. Its folded to the CO who opens to $20 with about $250, ket calls in the SB and I call in the BB with JTc. Flop comes 798r and its checked to the preflop raiser. He bets $50 and ket announces allin (lolz dumb internet player). I snapcall but ket has only put out a few hundred to cover the CO. I make sure the dealer knows ket went allin, and ket finally realises I have called him. CO calls with QTd, and ket tables T7o (he didnt realise I was still in the hand). Turn 7 river 9 and I ship ket the $2200 pot. Thankfully I had started drinking so I found the pot really funny, and kept laughing at ket.

The very next hand, UTG straddles and ket completes in the SB. I raise to 20 in the BB with ATs and the straddle calls. Ket makes it $80 and I turbo shove, and the straddle folds. Ket calls with A9o and doubles me up back to $1k.

I play a few random hands I don't remember, and get up to $1200. The MP limps for $3, CO with about 400 raises to $20 and I call with KQd on the button. The AdJdx board is dealt, and MP announces he hasn't acted yet, and tries to call. The floor is called and the flop is redealt. Rigged.

The new flop is T94 and its checked to me. I often take a stab here, but I decided to check behind with the plan of raising the preflop raiser on any turn if he bet. Turn is a J putting out two hearts, and he bets $30. I make it $100 straight and he shoves with 99. Obviously I snapcall, and river is a 9. Amazingly this is the SECOND worse badbeat I’ve taken.

At this point the game kinda dies so we cashout. Somehow i'm only down $200 after losing a $2200 pot with the nuts, and a $1k pot with the nuts and not winning any really big pots. Myth left -$1200 and ket was +$3k or so including 5/10 wins. I'd suggest reading kets blog whenever he updates it since he probably remembers more of these hands than I do.

At his 5/10 table he played maybe the worse hand of the day - after being away from the table he posts $15 from two off the button. There are a few limpers and he checks his option with J6o. SB shoves for $300 and ket wants to call, but thinks its too much. SB says he doesn't have a pair so ket instacalls, and busts the SB who had AK.

That is the end of day four, and hopefully that made enough sense that people can read it. Its now 4am and after spending 20 mins typing this I realise how drunk I am, and hopefully will wake up in time for the Sunday online tournaments. Ket basically is a HUGE luckbox, and rainkhan is still in the $1500 event with about 170 left which is ITM. He has 33bb so maybe he will win!

Day Three in Vegas
   TwistedEcho, June 09

I'm going to have to do more interesting stuff in Vegas I think, otherwise my daily blog will get boring. I got up at about 2pm and made ket play some online poker while I watched.

O
M
G

Ket is a supernit, he was playing 10/20 6max and would open fold JTo, QTo sb v bb, he open folded QJs HU when the button raises etc. I think he might have been talking with us too much and not focused (he coldcalled a preflop raise with T2o in the sb, and then seemed confused when he noticed he had a flop decision with T2o in a raised pot). Mig, Rain and myself had a huge long discussion about mtt strategy, and we didn't end up watching ket too much. Ket finished up about 3k and we decided to go watch a movie that evening.

We played some pool, and I realised I suck as a hustler. I should have thrown a few games vs Rain and got everyone to up the stakes before winning, but instead I went 3-0 and now have to give him 1.5:1. Mig says he has played pool maybe 3 times in his life, so hopefully we can get him into some bets too. I also have a $500 bet with Rain that aba20 will be up vs. Farha, but they seem to have stopping playing since I made that bet... damn.

We decide to go see knocked up, but have 15 mins to kill so convince ket to play some poker. He finds a soft 50/100nl table on FTP and sits for ~4k (there were two people playing HU with about 4k when he sat), and a three handed 2550 table. Ket seemed annoyed we were calling him a nit earlier when he played, so he wasn't letting them push him around anymore! After me and mig berated him for not open shoving some random hand, he 3bets the button raise with Q2o and claims that he is calling a push. I'm fairly sure he only raised here because we'd berated him the hand before.

On the 25/50 table he defended his BB with KQ, and check minraised the buttons cbet on a K77 board, and shoved over his 4bet, losing to J7o. There goes his profit from earlier! So with 5 mins to go, he has to win $2500 back off the 50/100 table.

Button raises to 300 and ket defends the BB with J8d (both myself and mig were trying to get him to just shove preflop, but hes a nit!) Flop came AJ5dd, and they have like 3k behind, so like the easiest checkraise ever since everyone will be cbetting that flop. Ket instead decides to donkbet out 450, and gets coldcalled. Turn was some random lowcard, and ket now checks and the button bets $1200. Ket shoves for like 2k total and the button tanks and folds, as ket instantly leaves $300 up for the session. Shippppp

We drop Rain off at the Rio and go to watch Knocked Up. When we get there we finally find a DDR machine, and the battle is on! I pick the first song which is some ridic easy 9 footer (on DDR songs are ranked by 'foot', with 1 being really easy, and 10 being the hardest). Mig kept telling me how he was crushing 9 footers, but he failed pretty fast and got to watch me finish it.

He makes some lame excuse about it being 'live ddr' (WTF?!) and he needed to play an easier song. He picks two random songs I’ve never played (UK machines have like 10 good songs, US one has much more) and we both pass, with him getting a slightly better score. I then pick the easiest 9 footer in the game for the last one, and he fails that too. However mig claims he doesn't lose the sidebet since it was 2-2 on scores, despite him failing two. We will have to play again and come up with some better scoring, but after seeing him play, it should be a lock.

We then see Knocked Up which I’d recommend to everyone, really funny film. Mig thought it was really good too, but ket didn't like it, claiming Harold and Kumar was much better - we bust his balls about that for a while and head over the Rio so I ca register for the $1500 event. The queue is about an hour long, so I decide im going to play the $1k at the bellagio instead.

We get home and mig heads for bed at like 2am and me and ket chat for a while until rain gets back. I then get into the most retarded argument maybe ever with Rain about tournaments online for a few hours and headed for bed.

Tomorrow's blog will probably be about as interesting as this one, since again its 2pm and I’m just getting up. I'll probably try to watch ket play some more online and play some pool, and then head over to bellagio at 6pm to play the 7pm $1k. Hopefully I can have a few more interesting hands unlike the $1500 to post

Day Two in Vegas
   TwistedEcho, June 08

Day two we headed to the Rio to play the $1500 6max NLHE. Rainkhan hadn't registered for this event, so decided at 11.30am (tournament starts at 12) that he needed to get money from the bank. We arrive 20 minutes later (luckily this is live, so probably only missed two hands) and I found my seat. Three 30yr women at my table and two middle aged men... awesome. As expected the women sucked and were weak/passive and the two guys weren't much better.

The first hand I played was my second at the table. Folded to the younger of the two guys who raises to 150 (25/50 blinds, hour long levels and 3k starting stacks). I just called in the BB with 88 since I have no idea how he plays. Flop comes A72 and goes check check. Turn 5 check check and river K, I check planning to probably fold but he checks behind and shows his Q6d after I show my 88. Glad he didn't try to win this pot!

I then raise the CO with two cards since I have two women to act behind me (I think I had T6s) and picked up the blinds. Sadly we play a few more hands (all of which I fold) and then I am informed the table is breaking. Bad beat #2 of the trip so far. The last hand of the table I am in the SB and weak passive woman is in the BB so I raise her to 200 with J2o. She calls and turbo folds to my 250cbet on the Kxx board.

I get moved all the way across the room to seat 2 at my new table. Seat 4 has ~10k, but obviously I have no idea how he got all those chips.

I fold for a few hands and quickly notice seat 4 is really aggressive, he basically never folded if it was folded to him, and he'd raise any2 on the button. Seat 5 was a middle aged fat American player who I never figured out, but sucked. (He folded for 30mins, and then coldcalled a 3bet with 95s...) and seat 6 never folded his BB. It was pretty amusing watching seat 4 open every button he could, and seat 6 turbocalling with any2. On several occasions they'd get to showdown with Q2o and T6o.

I picked up aces after a limp and made it 200 and they all folded. I then got JJ and raised to 150 from the CO and bb calls. Flop came JT5dd and I cbet 250, he turbo folded. I picked up AK utg and they all folded again... sigh.

I was up to about 4k now still at 25/50. The moron is seat 6 opens for 150 and I coldcalled with 77 on the button. Flop came QT3r and went check check. Turn was a 5 and he bet 225 and I called. River was 3 and he bet 225 again. I thought for a bit but he sucked so badly I couldn't work out if he had nothing or value betting his T8o or something. He flips AA and wins that... oops.

At this point the kid in seat 1 busts, and gets replaced with an aggressive internet player, who refused to reveal his online ID. I basically raised every so often and picked up pots preflop until 50/100.

At 50/100 I had 3900 and opened 73h from the CO. I basically started opening every CO since button was a predictable nit; sb was aggressive but seemed to never play OOP and bb sucked. The button thought for a bit and coldcalled me, and the SB made it 1300. I then tanked, and really wanted to shove - but I didn't have a good enough read on him that he was capable of squeezing light. It was pretty obvious the button was folding to the reraise too though, which made it a perfect spot for him to repop with air. I eventually folded and the button turbo folds too, meh.

I get repopped again a few hands later, and decide to calm down my raising. The lag in seat 4 now opens from UTG+1 with two cards as expected, the moron in seat 6 calls, and the decent SB calls. There is now 1k in the pot, and I have 3k. I'm really tempted to shove here, but worried that seat 6 will snapcall me with AT or 77, I look down at 32o and chicken out, and seat 4 and 6 get to showdown with QQ and JJ. wooo (despite that, seat 4s range is huge, so if seat 6 wasn't such a moron I would have probably shoved here and busted).

It was now the break and I was on 2900, expecting 75/150 the next level. I met up with the other guys, and ket was the group chipleader with 12k (in kets words 'I never folded top pair, and they kept bluffing')

Back at my table, I found out 75/150 didn't exist and we would be playing 100/200. I raised KTo on the button and the nit in the SB shoved and I had to fold, so was down to ~2200 after blinds passed. Ship push/fold.

The next hand I played, it was folded to the button who raised to 600 at 100/200. I had 1900 in the SB and shoved with AA. He tanked and folded getting 2:1. The next orbit he opened from the SB which he'd done a fair amount, and I shoved on him with A4. He called with AQ but I sucked out, and had ~6k. I made a few raises that didn't work, and was down to 4500. I opened AKs to 600 and the nit next to me shoved for ~6k. I called and won a race vs TT. I then doubled him up two hands later by just shoving on him when he was in the BB with A5, and he had AA.

So I now I had ~11k when my only big hand came up. utg opens for 600, and I made it 1700 on the button. The BB shoved for ~9500 and I snapcall with KK, but before I can turn over my hand he has his turned over, AA. Wonderful.

I was left with 1400 after that, and open shoved the next 6 hands (all were like A8s, 99, AQo etc) on my 6th shove, the BB angrily requested a count (despite someone asking for a count the hand before). I told him, and he asked what my cards were (lol?) I told him it was 2700 to call, and he could find out. He then asked if I had seen my cards, so again I told him it was 2700 to call, and then we could both look at what I had. He finally folds and I pickup the blinds again (I had 99 that time). The moron in seat 6 busts, and is replaced with someone with 8k, he instantly donks off like 5k of that, and I realise he sucks. He limps on the button and sb completes, so I shove KT from the BB. They both fold. The next time he is button he opens for 700 with a 3k stack, and I fold 33 in the BB. I guess I could have stop and go'd, but he seemed to be getting annoyed with people repopping him and I just folded. Very next time he is button, it’s folded to him again. He now has 2400 and raises to 900 at 100/200. Sb folds and I look down at A7c. I had 2100, but he really didn’t seem strong (and he had folded earlier getting like 3:1 after he raised and some kid shoved). I figured it’s likely I have the best hand, and who knows he might fold. I push and he throws his cards into the table towards me, complaining all I do is push. Live players suck. Another hand it’s folded to boring moron in seat 5 (im BB) and he tanks, and asks if im going to push. I ignore him and he folds and sb raises me and I look down at 73o and turbo fold. Seat 5 announces he folded 77 because he was sure I was pushing... lolz.

This table now breaks and I move back across the room close to where I started.

Blinds were now 100/200/25 and ket wandered past informing me that his 12k stack vanished in an hour, and he was going to play cash. He later informs us about his best played hand ever... Basically someone raises and he calls with 64. Flop comes K32 and they pot it, and ket floats. Turn is like a 7, and ket reinvents the rules of poker, and decides he has a straight and calls to TRAP. Turn pairs the 3 and the guy pots it again and ket being a supernit live decides he’s only going to call and confidently tables his 6hi... oops? Despite having created this wonderful table image, he now leaves in shame... lol.

Anyway, back to my tournament, I move to this new table with 1900 and everyone is joking and laughing and buying each other drinks. Seems a really soft table. One table across from me, there was a man who looked really familiar. For anyone who knows about football, I support spurs and he looked SO MUCH like Teddy Sheringham. I kept staring at him and I think he noticed, but then I got distracted by his super hot wife/girlfriend/escort.

NINJAEDIT: After i busted, i wandered over to his table on my way out, and apologised for staring at him and asked if he was indeed Tedy Sheringham, and told him i used to support spurs. He says he is, and i realise i don't have a pen or anything for him to sign. I just wish him luck since he had a huge stack, and wandered off. I expect he doesn't get recognised that much by Americans so he probably didn't care.

Anyway, I basically play no hands since everyone is opening and then showing AKs or AQ etc so I couldn’t even resteal. I push once with A2d from CO and pick up the blinds. Then the CO with 10k limps, and I have 2k and 67s in the SB. I'm tempted to shove but he limped AT earlier, and im not sure he is folding KQ or A9 here to me. I just complete planning on trying to win any flop that remotely hits me. BB checks and the flop comes K72r. I check, BB checks and CO bets 250 into the 750 pot. I shove and the BB tanks for about 4 minutes. Finally he flashes his cards to the guy next to him and folds. The CO explodes claiming he should get to see those cards, and the dealer tells him he can at the end of the hand. CO folds as expected, and BB's KQo is shown, lol. I don't complete here with anything that beats KQ except 22, I’m so glad he wasn't a thinking player.

I bust the very next hand when I shove 84s from the SB for 10bb and BB tanks and finally calls with 33. I'm quite liking the race, but the 3s hold and I’m out. Mig busted about this time too and we go to buy some stuff I needed for the house, and food (mig insulted pretty much every item of food I bought, apparently I pick bad brands? He claims my jam will kill me, so I think I’ll test that out soon).

We head back to the house and ket is already home after his 6hi call, and rain has also busted. We talk about bust hands and random stuff and ket wins money off rain playing pool. By now it’s like 11pm and everyone seems kind of tired so ket goes to bed, and I decide to read cardplayer for a bit and sleep until mig decides to go to the cinema with myth, so I got up again.

We went to see the midnight showing of oceans 13, which I thought was really slow and fairly boring - it wasn't like the first two which were exciting and fast moving. I won't spoil the film since im sure most people will see it, but I thought it should have been much better.

Anyway, that’s my blog up-to-date now, it’s now day 3 at like 2pm and I’m still in bed writing this. Mig has already busted the $5k PLHE (yes, it started at 12). Apparently he had a really tough table (yes, he told us how soft the PLHE would be before the event) with Steve Paul Ambrose, Greg raymer, Scott clemence (bigriskky) and some other live pros. There was one big fish at the table though, so mig kindly gave all him chips (10k stack at 25/50) to the fish.

Actually it was a lame setup hand, fish minraises utg at 50/100 and 3 callers, so mig calls in the BB with J9d. Flop comes 267dd and mig check calls 600 and is HU with the fish. Turn is Td and fish bets 800, mig checkraises to 3k and fish shoves with A3d.

We are going to see either hostel 2 or knocked up in a bit, and then I think im going to play live sats. Hope this blog is kind of interesting; I will get my phone working soon hopefully and start including pictures!

Day One in Vegas
   TwistedEcho, June 08

So I finally decided to write a blog since im still in bed and too lazy to see if anyone is still in the house. I figured I’d do it by day, and just recap the last few days from memories. I also want some pictures to add to these posts but my phone is currently dead so that will have to wait.

I flew out to Vegas on the 6th, planning to start off my wsop tournament run with the $1500 6max NLHE on the 7th. The first flight to Chicago was awesome, I had three window seats to myself so basically had all the room I wanted. The movies on the plane kind of sucked so I just watched random stuff on my laptop till it died and then some crap movie I don't remember much about.

Upon arrival in Chicago, I joined the queue for customs and immigration. When I last went to US to play poker, I was interrogated for about an hour about why I was flying into US (it didn't help that the person I was sharing a hotel room with I only knew online, and didn't have any booking details for the hotel etc).

As expected, as soon as I mentioned poker they asked me to go stand to a side and wait for someone to ask me more questions. I spent 30 minutes while two guys asked me how much I make playing poker, what I do with the money, how I cash out the money, what I will be doing in Vegas, how much money I was taking to Vegas, what will I do if I lose all that money etc. Obviously I just answered everything correctly, and finally they both stopped asking questions and just stared at me for 30 seconds. I had no idea if they were waiting for me to talk or what, and I was starting to think if they didn't let me into the country it would suck so badly.

I was pretty tempted to suggest if they wanted proof, we could just get out a deck of cards and play for money, but finally after just staring at me for 30 seconds they stamped all my documents and wished me luck in the WSOP.

The flight to Las Vegas was on some small crap plane without TVs on each seat. I was stuck sitting next to some older woman who kept talking to herself, and then this ridic hot blonde girl comes and sits the other side. Sweeeet.

However she sticks in her ipod and curls up in a blanket, so I just pull out a book and get ready for a boring 4 hour flight. Anyway about an hour into the flight she seemed to have had enough of music, and decided to try talking to me. Sweeeeet x2. Turns out she’s 23 and doing marketing at college, and her friend is a model and they were entering some bikini contest and staying at the bellagio. I start to have visions of awesome house parties in Vegas with bikini models, until she mentioned in passing her boyfriend.... First bad beat of the trip

We talked for ages about poker, Vegas and random stuff and finally the plane landed and we got our bags and left.

Ok so this blog is long and probably boring/me rambling too much, but whatever.

So I find a taxi and give him the vague directions that ket had given me the night before. I figured with a street name (it wasn't the actual street the house was on but the main road we turn off of, ket seemed to think giving me the actual street wasn't useful...) and a house number, I’d be ok. So we found the main intersection in the directions no problem, the rest being 'immediate left, keep going, house is up there' Sounds simple right?

An hour passed and we had been up every street and not found the house. My laptop had died on the plane so I couldn't get the AIM chat log which might have helped, and my phone was really close to dying. I didn't have mig/rains number and kets phone didn't work so I was pretty screwed.

I finally phoned tom (tjbentham) at like 3am for him to get him to find the house website and get better directions/a contact number. I finally managed to phone the owners of the house, but he refused to give me a detailed address despite me telling him I was 2mins away, the dates we had booked for, and the name corwin mackey (mig obviously booked the house as james mackey, which was the problem). He finally agreed I could get migs number from him but I’d have to wait 30mins.

I decided just to go to the Rio to try to find people and phone him from there, and if I couldn't get in touch with anyone just buy myself into the tournament and stay at the Rio for a night. Luckily I found mig and elky pretty much straight away, and met up with rainkhan, ket and myth and headed back to watch daut crush the PCA.

This is where I need photos to do this post justice... When I got to the house there was a really tiny bedroom on the ground floor, which doesn't even have a bed in it, but some pullout couch thing that was half made (ket couldn't manage it apparently). This was the worse bedroom in the house, and obviously left for me since I was last to move in.

Rain/kets rooms are fairly decent but mig has a HUGE bedroom with a king-sized bed, en suite bathroom AND a storage closet which is about the same size as my room. So rigged He won't even pay more money claiming he gets that room because of the 'all the effort' that went into booking the house.

Mig was still in the $2k with about 50bb and 3x average stack. Pretty much as soon as we left he managed to bust on the first hand after break (78s vs. AA on a 568 board, or sth like that) so we all watched daut crush. We also agreed on a $300 last longer for the 6max (so +ev with kets dead money) and chilled out at the house for a bit.

Mig then decided he wanted to play me at DDR (mig has been playing DDR for about 6 months I guess, and kept telling me over aim what songs he could do etc - I used to be pretty decent at it but haven't played for 2 years or so, but still think I can crush mig) So we drive to some arcade which is closed, and then try the luxor arcade, which ket offers mig 40:1 on being closed. It’s closed and ket is up $10, but as we go to find the food court ket offers mig 10:1 that it’s also closed. Mig notices a group of people walking towards us with food, so +100 for that bet to mig. We get back to house about 1am I guess, and I decide to sleep.
