On to NL25

Hit 20 BI for NL25 yesterday but I was too lazy to type out an update. Apparently I was running way over EV through NL10 but it honestly didn't feel like it. I sucked out a few times pretty big but with all the coolers I took it didn't feel like I was running hot. I felt like I played the same game I've been playing since NL2 but with some small changes from what I've learned. Averaging $6.06 a...

Finished NL5!

So I'm just about done NL5. Tomorrow's rakeback should put me at just about the 20BI I need for NL10. Only 1 losing session at NL5, but there were a few I had to save. Actually, quite a few sessions I ran bad to start but made it above water at the end. It was also nice to hit a great session just starting out. Hopefully I can finish NL10 by the beginning of February.

I'm actually kind of to...

My first 4bet bluff

3n3yd was 17/9/10.2 over 249 hands
Sbenaglio was 40/11/10.9 over 175 hands
I was playing 23/17/8.8 and was stealing 57%, 33% from the cutoff

[HAND=787240]
I figured with how much 3n3yd was 3betting and how much I was stealing that this was just a squeeze and so I tried my very first 4bet bluff. I obviously found out that my read was wrong when he 5bet me all-in. Now I was in a situation I...

First day at NL5

Today was my first shot at NL5 and it went pretty well. Up just over 3 BI's in 1079 hands. If I keep up this pace I'll be done NL5 in about a week. I did make some terrible calls and I paid off big pocket pairs with small/medium pocket pairs way too many times. Also got check/minraised on 4 of my 7 biggest losing hands. I guess I need to give any aggression more credit, even if it's a minraise....

New year, hopefully new stakes

Finally after a long Christmas lull (which featured plenty of family gambling) I decided to play and finish grinding my 20BI for NL5. 2 months and 28k hands to grind from $7 of freeroll winnings to $100. I'm going to be rich. I'm hoping to be done NL5 within the month and be on to NL10. If I start putting in a decent amount of hands it shouldn't be a problem. Race ya MadJukes?

The hand that ...

Good Week

Besides today, I've run really good this week. The way I this week went I would basically go breakeven for a while and then I would get a rush of hands where I'd take a few stacks and then I'd just quit. It obviously feels nice to end a session up, but I think that if I want to get to real stakes any time soon I'm going to need to stop quitting when I get up a bit and just put in some more hour...

Hello Liquid Poker

It's been about one month since I decided I wanted to give playing poker seriously a shot. The idea of building a bankroll from nothing really appealed to me so that's what I attempted to do. I started off inspired by a post on LP about selling play chips for real money and decided I'd try to grind up some play chips while playing a few freerolls each day on Full Tilt. I figured that the rakeba...
