From Busto to...less busto

After my last blog post about how I am a busto but ready to rebuild, I started grinding a bit harder but as always, life gets in the way of things. Work made me travel, family things came up, downloaded Vampire the Masquerade, HOMM4, Battle for Wesnoth - games which took roughly 3-4 weeks worth of weekends. I did however to put in some hours at the casino which is always +ev but didn't make too...

Because there isn't much to blog about.

I was really out of poker for a good 6-7 months when I started work. Starting a new job is always stressful for the first month or so, worrying about things like whether i'd be able to get along with work mates, other graduates, senior management etc etc. Finally settled in after 6 months and i feel more like a permanent fixture around the office. I'm...

Question about pokerstove

Sup Lp,

Pretty simple question about stove - does it automatically discount cards from my opponents range based on my hand?

Example: I hold Aspades4spades, flop is 4d4c2c, and i click say i give my opponent A2 suited.

Will it only count 2 hand combos for A2 suited? specifically A2diamonds and A2heart? or do i have to manually unclick A2spades and A2 clubs on the right hand box?

This is really weird - so my net is breaking up and fucking up in general but i kept playing - 2 things happened -

One REALLY laggy hand, on the river, i raise, then it LAGS like crazy - but i think he folds. HEM shows he folds. HH shows he folds. HEM shows i lost the pot.

20/20 reg with no reads raises 3.5xbb on CO (presumably to iso fish on BB).

You call button with QT.

Flop comes A68 with a flush draw (you do not have said flush draw)

Preflop raiser checks to you. What do you do? what is your plan on the turn?

Alternatively, what do you do if you have T8/underpairs etc instead?

Personally I like betting flop and probably 2 barreling if turn...

I can't seem to connect. Pokerscout says they are online with 12k players. zzz anyone know the reason?

I clicked the updater to see if there is any updates but that doesn't work either. GG

Does anyone know how to make the tables i'm wait listed on highlight on ftp?

I've spent a good 10 minutes googling and searching through the options - god i hate it so much when i see some promising tables but find that i am already waitlisted on them :

How i lern donakmentz?

So where do i go to get the basics on donkaments?

I play 6 max, no idea how to play full ring. The reason i ask is because i have a couple of 26 tokens from ftp and i want to use them as effectively - i probably won't cash so i want to use this opportunity to learn.

Advice anyone?

So i was on PS and i was very comfortable in my game in 25nl, actually taking shots at 50nl. Then my friend suggested i switch to ftp. I did, and i've started grinding 25nl there.

AND...im getting totally crushed. Partly because i'm running cold but i feel that FTP plays a bit harder in that its player base float more, 3bet more and bluff by just clicking the pot button. I figured PS to be ...

Is AK the nuts preflop? Why?

As I hail from the micro limit of poker, I don't understand why people think AK is the nuts preflop?

My friend said it was partly because of the fold equity you get if you jam it over a 4 bet or 4 bet it. Secondly, we're not exactly crushed unless we get it in against AA. Against KK, you still have ~30% equity so "its just like a coin toss!"

This doesn't click for me because no...

Well i'm going to lose my prop bet in 1.5 hours -

Recap: I needed to hit 2k br from 300 bux in january. Atm my br is 1.8k and i've comfortably moved up to 50nl. I'm pretty comfortable there and i feel my game has improved from leaps and bounds since my 30k hands of 10nl. Stopped playing because i got bad beat AA v JJ backdoor flush, which would have put me in a commanding position - 1 bi aw...

Does TAGs fold AJ?AT on AXXXX?

I was reviewing hands with a friend and we began discussing a certain theoretical scenario about blowing people off hands.

The gist is: can you blow a villain TAG 23/20 off TP (Ace) high kicker (AJ/AT) if you three barrel him in position when you are holding JJ/TT and its obvious no good. This is also on 100nl.

This is assuming that the flop, turn and river are very disconnected with no...

need to crush 25nl faster

I think i've got a pretty good grasp of 25nl metagame despite the small sample size of ~12k hands so i've started 6-8 tabling. Still kind of on track for my prop bet - i'm on 1.1k and i'm going to finish grinding a $100 bonus tomorrow. So 800 bux in 20 days, definitely doable at the rate i'm hitting my 2 outters. Probably going to dabble in 50nl when i hit 2k.

Anyways, i've decided to broad...

LAGstars

I live in Australia so i usually play during American offpeak hours on pokerstars.

But today, i decided to play early saturday morning and pokerstars LAGS so bad.

The network status on ps says its 77%? and fluctuates erratically.

So my question is, is this normal for pokerstars? or is it just my net dicking me around?

Hi everyone, this is my first blog...ever.

I'm going to blog about my adventures of 10nl. I used to play live/internet poker on and off but since then i've been motivated by salutary to take it more seriously. He staked me 100 bux on cake in July and it took me 2 1/2-ish to turn it into 400 bux grinding 10nl. Uni work / finals took over. But now that i've graduated, i've got 2 solid months ...
