Feel like year went pretty well and i could feel my edge in every league. also learned a lot and will be a bit stronger next year.
Daily Fantasy
As the year progressed, I started getting more and more into daily fantasy sports. At the beginning of the year there was a nice guaranteed tournament over on draftkings (www.draftkings.com, has some poker crossover, their VIP manager is Jon Aguiar aka fatalerror and they have a partnership with the WPT) and a deposit bonus, so i threw 1200 on, fired 6 lineups in the $200, think i had one small cash, fired most of it away and had like 38 bucks left in the account. Let it sit there for most of the season, but a bunch of my friends had been getting into daily stuff so I decided to start firing.
didnt feel like redepositing but i wanted to make as many lineups as i could each week to try and learn as much as possible for next season. so first week i made 19 lineups and entered them in the $2 tournament, got back $49. the following week i fired in 1 $11 lineup and 19 $2 lineups, did well, got back $113. then fired in 2 $11 lineups and 45 $2 lineups, did very well in a few with 4 top 30 finishes out of 8500 and cashed for $240. first place was 3500 and i was pretty close to that so it was a little frustrating to have so many entries do so well and cash for so little but a good sign that im getting a much better grasp of things. this past week there was a bigger $150 guaranteed tournament, and since it was week 16 i fired in a lineup and put in around 40 smaller lineups, did bad in the large one and only got back $40 which is ok cause week 17 is so unpredictable with resting starters to prevent injury. most of the games do matter this weekend but a lot of teams that are eliminated just throw in the towel and some of the later game players know their fate by then and the games become meaningless.
but now having entered a few hundred lineups the past 4 weeks i feel good about my daily fantasy game and think ill put in a lot of work over the next 8 months and plan on going hard in it next year cause it feels like there is more money to be made here than in year long stuff, albeit with smaller edges and more variance. will probably deposit 10-20k next year and work out a year long plan for grinding it out. hopefully it goes well! if you dont play daily, i suggest you look into it, its really going to explode in the next year and its big for NBA/MLB/NFL.

Out of about ten places today, three were online, the rest were paper. One of the places I went into, the second I asked for an application, I was laughed at by the staff and told no. No reason, just no.
The last place I went to, I got berated. I have a jacket on, ya know, cause it's fucking WINTER, and I'm in the wrong for wearing a jacket. I told the lady that I can't afford a tuxedo to ask for a fucking application, and she said that I'm way too under dressed, that if I dressed up properly, I'd get a job, even though she's just a fucking cashier. Mind you, this is a low volume restaurant. When I was walking out, she kept calling me back, and I was wondering what the fuck for... Guess what? She felt such pity for me that she actually gave me money to wash my clothes, even though they were clean.
That was after I went to olive garden and actually had some success there with three of the managers, wearing the same thing.
For the job that I was supposedly supposed to get, I called them again and they want an "extra interview" with me "when they call me" after telling me that I was hired two weeks ago.
Still getting yelled at at home for applying online instead of going into stores like wal mart and home depot, asking for the manager, shaking his hand, and demanding a job right then and there... Cause ya know... that's how people get jobs nowadays.
I tried to play some online poker for a stress relief and there's almost no traffic left. Might just be the holidays, unless there's some new site taking all american players.

I knew this shit was going to happen today. I don't even think it's my wireless internet since I was able to get on bovada and look on the internet.
I'm sort of tilted after downswing breakevening for the past 10k hands. I'm doing a lot of experimenting with my basic strategy and static ranges and maybe getting better maybe not, but there has been some growing pains and while Holdem is alot simpler than something like Omaha there are still quite a bit of situations to standardize and its been alot of mindpower trying to get that under control. Im insanely behind whatever curve there is in the poker world and its kind of depressing thinking about how good probably some of the regs are on this site (Song,Longple,Marshall, etc). I had a shitty session yesterday and today so I'm blogging to be a little less annoyed. I guess this is a late november results post. Made around 2.2k live and a bit online as you can see by the graph. Some hands got lost from the 23rd I guess from Bovada's customer service getting raided. I think I was at around 3.7k in October and with bonuses a bit over 4k for November. December is starting out pretty shitty so far. Anyway I wanted to make a winning month blog post just in case December keeps going like this and I never win at poker ever.
then choose liquor over your family, then almost get kidnapped by a black dude, THEN blame it on your family, not yourself. This is how to be a great mother.
And to think, I was disappointed that she didn't get kidnapped.
I graduated in 2010...I think there are a couple of other people on this board that graduated around that time and many have took varying paths. I worked a corporate accounting job for roughly a year but for whatever reason i was pretty depressed doing that and i ended up moving on from that in the summer of 2012.
Anyway I had lived in Jersey and went to State school and it was pretty toxic to think about being a joe in New Jeresy. I moved to San Diego for life experience stuff and pretty much paid the bills for awhile working at yet another crap accounting position at a small firm. I wasn't doing very well and I was exploring life options but I was still lost and didn't know what to do with my life at this point...I got to backgrounds with SDPD, considered the CPA/CFA, etc. In a pretty random series of events involving my parked car getting hit as a third party to an accident, I drove to vegas to play poker as a vacation. I arrived around Sep 30th and have stayed since then.
Right now I am playing live poker with a bankroll of ~22k (though close to 7k is locked up in long-term stocks so effectively ~15k). I am doing ok and paying my bills while saving a bit for my bankroll. I had bought roughly 800 dollars in BTC which is probably around $2500 now but I think I forgot my tormail password so I'm trying to get that unlocked fml, lol..
It was pretty random but I played a top-5 german live tourney crusher at low-stakes cash recently. He was killing time with his non-professional friends while getting free drinks. It was pretty fun poker and a bit of motivation, but depressing that others are so robusto and I'm sooo busto at the moment, lol.
I've been through a lot of shit since graduating in 2010. I think as a person I have progressed quite a bit but still have to figure out how to make it in the ultra-competitive world. It is depressing to think about the probabilities of that. It is also a bit frustrating playing live poker. My online experience was pretty derailed once I decided to (do the smart thing) of getting a job after graduating and the subsequent onset of black friday and I think my game has been ok at times but I have to work to have it not break down. Improvements are difficult for various reasons and I have inexperience in certain spots that translate to leaks and not great logic.
So pretty much right now I'm a pos paying my bills saving a bit and waiting on a modest trust fund, lol fml.
Do I let the game host know he's got a mechanic working for him? The host would in no way risk having a mechanic work for him. However, I'm sure the mechanic is also working in a much shadier game. Reminder: limp handshake, is armed. (the mechanic)
Do I let other people know? Probably not. However, if I don't tell the host, should I just simply not go to the game anymore? Do I stay and try to figure out how to profit off my new found information?
"Legendary mixed martial artist Frank Shamrock goes on an unforgettable journey into his tumultuous past. He recalls everything from his remarkable fighting career to his turbulent personal life."
Anyway, as someone who wasn't around for Frank Shamrock's career, it was great to finally find out more about the man who was once considered one of the best MMA fighters alive.
In this 41-minute documentary, we get to learn about Frank's younger days before he started fighting, how he got into fighting, some of his most important matches, his love-hate relationship with his brother Ken, and there's also a cameo with Nick Diaz where he shows Frank a lot of respect, which is a rare thing in Nick Diaz's world.
I was having a discussion with someone yesterday about the profitability of online poker games. I started playing full time in 2002 and I have steadily reduced my stake levels over the years as on a level by level basis the games became far tougher.
These days I play NL100 on fairly easy sites like 888poker and that is fine by me to be honest. I also play full ring where I think the average line up is softer than in a comparable six max. However I do feel that mistakes are punished more these days than they used to be. The game itself is much less forgiving and you simply don't get enough opportunities to win the money back what you lose.
So discipline is massive now but a few days ago I spewed $300 in a fashion that left me somewhat bemused. I hadn't done this sort of thing for ages and so it disturbed me to think that I was actually capable of this sort of behaviour. I pride myself on acting professionally but it just rammed it home to me that we never ever stop this battle with ourselves. I always think that the biggest battle is with what we have between our two ears.
So I am taking a few days off away from the games and coming back on 1st Nov after reflecting on where I am at this moment in time. There are still good profits to be made at the lower levels but you need discipline at all times and not just 99% of the time in a game like deep stack NLHE.
Besides the bullshit trolling I do on here, especially with my 4nl hands, I've been regularly playing live for about half a year now and have been doing alright. (50-200nl) However, lately, my paranoia is getting to me. I swear, getting the SAME hand at least 20 times each night for weeks? Then, EVERY FUCKING MONSTER gets busted. Aces have all been busted this month, kings, queens, jacks, all ace high flushes, every boat, every set, fucking everything. I'm down only a buy in for this month, but I'm fucking buckling under my paranoia. I can't decide if the dealer is fixing the cards, I can't decide if I should fold aces pre flop and just start only pure bluffing, since it seems I never get called when I make moves, or if I should just quit at least for half a year or so.
I honestly feel a lot safer pure bluffing than having the stone cold nuts. I would be up so much this month and it eats me alive when I see everyone else getting paid off on their monsters. I don't know if I'll be able to stay away, which I need to since I'm sure I'll be on tilt even before I get to the game, but I got to.
Without seeing pocket aces? For my cash game, I haven't seen aces in 1200 hands so far. Statistics say I should see one in every 250 or so. I really hope I can make it to 2k hands without seeing aces. Oh, wait. As soon as I'm typing this, I get aces. What the fuck. So weird.
I don't remember the last day it didn't rain. It's been at least four weeks now. Holy fuck. Last Saturday, my sister's car and my car got flooded, which mine got the worst of it. Yay for the worst flood we've seen in a couple years that happened in less than one hour. Rain flying up. I am fucking sick of this fucking raining shit every fucking DAY PLEASE STOP RAINING OMG. I gotta air out my car but I can't have my windows down cause that would defeat the purpose because of bitch faggot fucking rain. xDDDD
Im disgusted by vagina but don't find men sexually attractive. Im not sexually attracted to post-op trans-women. I like shemales who have cocks. I want to be a shemale too and fuck other shemales. My family is a military family. I went to a support group of trans-women and a trans-woman called me a faggot and said I'm fucking up public opinion of trans-women. Am I wrong? I went to a boob job clinic in las vegas and they wouldnt give me a boob job.
