does anyone pay for a subscription to this? any value in paying for the pro version over the 2 cheaper versions? It seems like it would go well with PIO and I am trying to up the analytical side of my game.

PT4 Bovada question
  traxamillion, Oct 17 2015

When you DL Bovada HH they display the holecard information of all players at the table regardless of action (anti-collusion measure). When i use the hand converter to turn Zone HH into ZOOM hh that are compatible with PT4 they lose the holecard data.

My hope was that I could go into PT4 and look up hands where i folded and see what my opponent had rather than manually digging through HH files.

Is this possible?

example.

unconverted bovada HH (one with opponent showing his cards at showdown, the 2nd i fold and he doesn't have to show)

you can see especially in the last HH that after the conversion Villain hole cards are not visible at all so going into pt4 to see what people had is at this point useless (and maybe a results oriented practice in general but wouldn't you want to know if you were bluffed or not if possible?)

getting hero called live
  traxamillion, Oct 05 2015

playing 1-1-2 with a bunch of fish one of whom is nice enough to kill it to 2/4 almost every hand. I'm playing relatively tight/solid pre haven't showed anything out of line in 3-4 hours.

Fish who kills it is button this hand so he is not allowed and the blinds remain 1-1-2.

Me SB $400
Old Azn $250
Young white fish kid who 3bet/called off 60bb with 72o (yea) $200 or so

Young opens 4, Azn calls 4, I raise to 24 in the SB.

Flop Ax5c3c (pot $66)

I lead 25, young folds, Azn snaps (no raise consideration or anything I already have his range narrowed very heavily to shitty aces. In a previous hand he was the PFR and bet flop 4 ways IP, I was the only caller on 942ccc, turn comes a red king I check he bets 65 (near pot) I check shove putting him in for 90 more and he folds.

Turn As5c3c10d ($116)

I lead 50 and he again calls very quickly; I expect him to peel this bet way wider than he should but to generally have to fold on most rivers.

River As5c3c10d5d ($216)

I shove 150 and he goes into the tank for 4-5 minutes which is forever in this game but I don't like calling the clock on my opponent when in the hand with him; I generally just sit stone and don't give off anything. He finally flicks in a chip for the call which is somewhat annoying because i probably could have used a little chat on the river to get him to lay it down; call out his hand or something but I never know if that is going to backfire. He flips up the A7o to rake the pot of course.

Standard I suppose but what is tilting is that he caught me with literally my one bluff there. This game is so soft with a bad rake structure that drops 2 pre without a flop and 4 more after on any flop that I play in a way that is on the tighter side pre as light defense and steals often make no sense. From the small blind there my 3betting range (kinda like raising limps in this game as it is 4 to go pre but still technically a 3bet) is A10s/AJ/AQ/AQ/99+/KQ. Especially with the BB at the time I call everything else even up to QJ/KJs (or if i raise them I don't throw them in and overbluff the runout). Just trying to smash good top pairs to valuetown fish otherwise play a smaller pot OOP. I'm not even always cbetting KQ; sometimes just giving up but for the sake of argument assume I bluff them all (even KQcc which I may not actually want to barrel turn). Well that leaves me 16 bluffs, I do ship all good aces so assuming he has an ace that still leaves me with 27(aj-ak)+6(a10)+1(AA). I don't c/c river vs this station so u can't discount either. 15:34 is about the right ratio for that river jam.

everytime i run a big bluff in these low stakes games I am reminded how bad I am

comp programming question
  traxamillion, Sep 21 2015

I'm teaching myself Java right now, have really just started in earnest these last 2 weeks. My only question is as I practice writing programs should I be using notepad only to make sure I can do all the syntax stuff properly from scratch? Would I be doing myself a disservice to move straight into using Netbeans?

maybe use netbeans mostly and fire up notepad every once in a while just to test myself?

poker for dfs trade
  traxamillion, Jul 09 2015

If anyone is new at poker but has some experience with Daily Fantasy (you know how to make projections in excel) hit me up. I'd be down to trade a couple poker lessons (nlhe, plo, hu or ring, whatever) for help with getting my DFS setup going.

Just started learning about DFS day before yesterday and plan to go hard.

Live poker bitching
  traxamillion, Apr 27 2015

gonna post dumb live hands in my blog to blow off steam you don't have to read them

UTG $300
UTG+1 $80
UTG+2 $80
MP $340
ME (button)$300

UTG puts out a blind kill which is a 4 dollar blind that gives him last action preflop

UTG+1 opens 8, UTG+2 calls, MP calls, LP call, I call with 99, UTG raises to 30, everybody calls but LP

Flop 9c5h2d (pot $148)

UTG bets 45, UTG+1 calls all in, UTG+2 calls all in, Mp raises to 90, I call, UTG folds

Turn 9c5h2d3h (pot $363)

Mp leads 40, I shove, Mp calls with 98hh

River 9c5h2d3h7h (pot $743)

My top set no longer good MP scoops the pot with a 9 high flush and the 2 shortstacks muck some trash that had no equity. Not long after MP got in 200bbs pre calling off a huge overbet shove with K9o. He cracked AK with his K9 shipping a huge pot with a pair of 9s. Not long after the game broke when he left and I got moved to another table. At the 2nd orbit at this new table I faced an interesting hand that I also posted here tonight.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/poker-forum/1126836/Live_1-2_river_play.html

Game is 7 or 8 handed live 1-1-2 NL holden

Button $200
BB $240
Me (UTG +1) $280

I open to 7 UTG+1 with K10ss. button calls, Bb calls

Flop 5s8sQd (pot $18 after rake I believe- max drop any flop in California :/ lol)

BB checks, I bet 14, both call

Turn 5s8sQd9c (pot $60)

Everybody checks

River 5s8sQd9c3s (pot $60)

BB leads 30, I?

Neither player seems to be a drooler, my game recently broke and I just got moved here, 2nd orbit. Both young - 30s white men but not online players I don't think.

I've been watching a lot of the Claudico bot lately and I think it would definitely choose all in as its play because of GTO or whatever. Do you think a smaller raise is better to get wider calls out of a human or is there more value in getting bigger bets called less frequently (or at the same rate).

What do you guys do here.

Yes I could 3barrel this and that may be best but I believe the line I took is certainly viable especially vs the players in this hand.

tilt
  traxamillion, Feb 19 2015

I used to be a tilt box but years have passed and I am older now. I have played millions of hands of this game with plenty of huge downswings and feel like I have seen just about anything. Especially live play is just rote at this point with automatic decision after another at a slow pace while often times i'm just on my phone to stay productive.

So tonight I'm in a 3/5 game at the local casino I go to and for the first time in as long as i can remember I just packed up and went home early out of tilt.

everyone 100 effective about. utg makes it 10, mp calls, I call with A4cc on the button, sb makes it 30 and utg calls and I call.

Flop is As7c4s.It checks around to me and i bet 75 and both call.

turn is the Qc making a AsQc7c4s board. Sb leads all in for a bit more than the pot like 380 into 320 or something roughly that size (we all have similar stacks; i cover utg and sb covers me by like a dollar) and I get ready to call while UTG goes into the tank for like 2 minutes. He is a huge donk and just thought the action was on me. When he realizes it is on him he snapcalls all in.

While UTG is sitting in the tank i was chillin figuring I was going to have to hit versus SB's AQ 90% or maybe his QQ if he was stubborn enough on the flop. He flashes his KJss to me though for some unknown reason thinking i already called or something iono so I perked up a lil when I saw I was the massive favorite. I call (obv calling no matter what).

SB shows KJss and UTG shows 103ss (lol live poker- why i put up with it though). Obviously river is the 5s or the 8s one of those. Owned

Pretty standard beat I mean I play PLO mostly so i see worse every other SNG. I literally almost never get tilted by results if anything I might get a little frustrated if I make a bad play but I don't really even do much of that anymore. I guess its just the time issue. Live is so slow I know its gonna be a couple days of grinding before I even find a spot that sweet again. I can't move up or open a bunch of tables.

Well i guess that is why i went home to play on Bovada

Overtime question
  traxamillion, Dec 12 2012

I'm trying to find out whether or not my employer is screwing me On overtime. I work in California. Overtime is defined as hours worked over 8 in a day or 40 in a week. Overtime rate is 1.5x and after 12 hours in a day it goes up to 2x.

I want to look at the part specifically when I work more than forty hours in a week. Do I get overtime for every hour after the first forty? Or is it just after forty non-overtime or regular hours? Let's look at a simplified example to clarify.

Workweek is mon-sun

Monday I work 15 hours
Tuesday 15 hours
Wednesday 10 hours
Thursday 8 hours
Friday 8 hours

So Monday I accrued 7 ot hours
Tuesday 7 ot hours
Wednesday 2 ot hours

So 16 overtime hours the first three day (in which I worked my 40 hours) so would the last two regular days of my week be overtime since I have already worked 40? This would be the most beneficial calculation to me because it would leave me a total of 32 ot hours out of the 56 hours I worked.

My work doesn't pay me like this though they don't start shelling out ot after the first forty; the sequence of days doesn't matter to them. They make sure to pay 40 reg hours then anything after that is ot.

So by their calcs it looks like

Monday 15 - 8 = 7
Tuesday 15 - 8 = 7
Wed 10 - 8 = 2
Thurs 8 - 8 = 0
Friday 8 - 8 = 0

So since they look at it like they are going to pay me for the first 8 out of each day and THEN anything after that is ot so in this scenario I only get 16 hours ot. In this scenario I am not rewarded for both working two huge days and a longer week they kind of lump the two together to pay the minimum ot.

Legal?

Standard?

dinner with a ferguson
  traxamillion, Feb 19 2012

So I had dinner at my girlfriend's house tonight. Her mother has a sister. This sister is married to Mark Ferguson. Mark Ferguson is obviously brother to chris ferguson.

I have always wanted to meet one of them if only to try to get a 100% rakeback account but they lived in Vegas until now. Mark is back in Palo Alto for a new job now that the whole full tilt thing fell apart (his brother didn't break him off enough to retire? I know he worked on tiltware).

Anyways I probably should have just kept my mouth shut but I didn't

had to ask her what her take on this whole thing was. Told her i was lucky enough to have money on stars but some of my good friends lost tons. Basically she just said the DOJ faked as payment processors for two years taking all the money and that is why when shit hit they fan they didn't have the money to pay out the players. As to why full tilt extended credit to everyone for like a month with no way to collect the funds she said there was a good reason but couldn't put her finger on it. Just really annoyed me how she put it all on the DOJ not acknowledging bad management on the part of ray howard and chris.

She had no information I hadn't basically already heard so maybe I was just being an ass figuring her husband was more involved than he really was but I know if I was scamming millions my little brother would be right next to me.

My girl and I got in a pretty decent fight over this and i'm pretty tilted but do you guys really think she just knew nothing (or got lied to the whole time by the hubby). I was just bothered being in the same room as someone who may and likely did benefit from stealing from my friends.

Guys was I being a dick should I just give this woman the benefit of the doubt????

Apparently chris ferguson is just chillin in Arizona no criminal penalties or anything.
