running bad rant
Syntax, Jul 19 2009
To everyone who is convinced and tells their peers they run bad: its obv possible, but you most likely are just not as good as you think you are.
I really get annoyed when people talk about how they run bad as if its an absolute fact.
"Umm, it's basically been scientifically proven that i run bad so yeah, i'm 100% positive."
Im actually surprised that people are so weak minded or w/e and cant realize that its just that theyre not pro like they thought. If youre running at .05BB/100 for 150k hands its easy to remember all the constant bad beats and automatically assume that youre running below expectation and that youre BB/100 should be higher.
also going back to bad beats. they're the nature of the game, theyre basically what makes poker what it is. if there wasnt a luck factor, the fish wouldnt play. theres constantly gonna be bad beats. over and over, till youre dealt that very last hand youll ever play. because if you think about it, all the situations where youre ahead, its usually something like 60/40, 70/30, 55/45 of course youre going to lose ALOT when you were the favorite. poker is a very very long term game... if you constantly wallop in your 'misfortune' than youre just making it harder for yourself to truly become a winner. Id imagine the greatest winners today are most likely absolutely emotionless about every hand they play. They always are on their A game and they critically think to the best of their knowledge about poker all around and how they can get better.
winrates are considerably lower than they used to be because of less fish so i think we see this more and more because people are just not winning / breaking even now. Players are getting more and more frustrated thus you see all these ppl bitch about bad beats and how they KNOW they run bad.
Theres no way it could just be because poker is an extremely intricate game and its actually possible they just suck and ran well or any number of other reasons. get real :O
my last 20 days
Syntax, Jan 24 2009
worst loss so far in poker career, both in terms of BB and $
by far worst month i have ever had. ever.
Possibly standard for winning players/ possibly not standard? I have to read some books and refresh myself with what i'm actually doing. I have had some pretty bad luck, but this HAS to be because of bigger leaks than i thought, i guess? Not really nervous or anything, but still want to address this issue as it could turn into something bigger. Especially since i have to pay rent nowadays etc... i really can't be losing / breaking even like this. (if i want to maintain my baller lifestyle too) hehe
gl 2 me :D

Brag: Flopped quads at two different tables at the same time against the same person. (SobraoBoy)
Beat: Had to use dictionary.com to learn how to spell 'simultaneously'
December 2008 - First month back
Syntax, Jan 01 2009
I took the longest break I've ever taken. I didn't play for about 2 months straight other than a couple times live.
Had a bad month. Didn't achieve nearly what i wanted. Next month will be better surely.
Life's been extremely hectic. A whole lot of shit going on at the same time, coming from all directions. It's usually positive but nonetheless consumes me. Poker is always a top priority for me.
I also bought every (2+2) poker book imaginable. Let's see if i actually read a chapter or two. -.-
ewwww

Ugly last few days.
I took a month off and now i'm back. Gotta keep learning this game...-_________-
One thing i want to say: I really dislike this website. Incredible amount of idiots who think they know how to play yet they're at 25nl. It seems like everyone sucks up to eachother at this site. All the fish ... at least. There's a reason why you're still at micro stakes and can't move up. You suck. :/ This is really out of my character to even talk about this, but it's gotten so annoying reading some comments people make and their so called "advice" regarding poker theory. It wouldn't even be just that, giving advice that is, but they say shit with a sense of authority as if they've proven their superior thinking from grinding $10 SNGs...
I think i'm going to make an effort just to ignore most all comments from this site completely. Other than the few good players here... It's just too much of a joke.

+$28,000/48k hands
half way done with clearing my $4,000 bonus
+$250 from tilt rakeback
And finally...my first real brag...our family is moving into a house. Going to be such a sweet jump from living in apartments my whole life. Plus, it's a pretty sick house. Pics soon to come.
Reason why no graphs is because i would have to post four entirely different graphs. This is because i played on two different computers and two different sites. (stars and tilt) I'll probably end up posting a lifetime graph anytime soon anyway.

Pretty weak results. 10k is great tho considering a normal job, so i'm content.
Very low winrate at nl400 =[
Pretty much breakeven for last 25k hands as well... ;/
My lifestyle: Sustainable?
Syntax, Aug 23 2008
I definitely hope so :D
Also...since Vegas:
Thinking about getting lessons some time in the next couple months. I want to further my game and take it to the next level. My goal is to be able to crush nl600+ by the end of the year. (100k hand sample with winrate > 3.5)
Thoughts/instructor suggestions?
