Uh Oh March
  superfashion, Mar 27 2011

So I epic failed my March goals and actually got crushed at 25NL. After having a session where I ran roughly 8BI below ev I got really frustrated and took a few days off, then had another big losing session and only played once every few days. Almost a month later my roll is just over 400 and I'm struggling to motivate myself to play again, but in order to save my PlatinumStar for April I'm going to have to get about 2k VPP at 10NL before the month is over...so that'll be my motivation to play for now. I'm sort of concerned with how much interest I lost in poker once I had a tiny bit of runbad, but grinding for Masters on SC2 didn't help either since it split my focus. I've actually gotten decently good at SC2 so if anyone wants to play, add me (furrychobo at yahoo dot com) and we can game

GL at the tables LP! Will be updating this in a few days with whether or not I followed through on my goal to keep platinumstar.

February Results + March Goals
  superfashion, Mar 01 2011

Put in a decent amount of volume in February I think...would've liked a bit more but with school and a girlfriend I'll take the just under 3k hands a day that it comes out to. Definitely my best month ever, as I made almost $400 playing mostly 10NL and about 14k hands of 25NL in the last couple days of the month. Made Platinumstar and have my eyes set on Supernova now that I have the roll to be grinding 25NL a lot. I'm actually pretty close to getting to take shots at 50NL, and I hope to be trying that by mid-March. I've mentioned before how proud and excited I am given my history of basically being a loser degen and donating to microstakes fish all across teh interwebs, but having almost $800 in my bankroll as of right now is kind of putting it into perspective for me that my perseverance and hard work have paid off. Being a losing player for so long is really hard to come to terms with, and it's very refreshing to have a positive graph to look at and be proud of. This may seem like a brag, and I guess it kind of is...but please forgive my elation with my results in light of the fact that I lost for almost a year before having a decent month like this.

As for March, I'd really like to start taking shots at 50NL by the middle of the month. Realistically I'll take a shot once I have about 25 buyins, although I might go against that and try at 20. I don't plan on making Supernova by the end of the month, but I think it's definitely realistic to say I can make it by the end of April. With that said, I have 89k VPP to go, and I'd like to get that down to about 45-50k to go so I'll be on pace to break it by the end of April. I'm done using the 4,500 FPP $50 releases, and am going to begin just hoarding them in order to get the 250k FPP $4000 releases once I hit Supernova. I figure by the time I hit Supernova I'll probably have right around there if not more considering I'm making about 2k FPP a day at 25NL, and will definitely be making more at 50NL. For the first time in my life, it's "when I hit 50NL" as opposed to "I really hope I can get to 50NL."

This is the biggest tl;dr I've ever written I think, but if you made it this far, I thank you for being interested enough to read through this and wish you (and the rest of LP) the best of luck at the tables, as well as in life, in March.

Here's to 89k VPPs and the grind for Supernova!

GG 10NL + YTD graph
  superfashion, Feb 26 2011

so i don't know if anyone actually reads my blog since i only play 10NL but in my last post i noted that i had started with $18 on stars and was at $365. after that, i got up to about $450, lost about $75 in a few crazy plo sessions, and started regrinding 10NL. i just got off a sick heater where i basically made 6.5bi+$50 rewards bonus so my roll is up to just under $500. this year's graph minus omaha since i don't have omaha tracker:

so i'm feeling pretty good, and i'm ready to slap 25NL in the face for crushing me last year. GL at the tables LP!

edit: not really YTD graph, i'm an idiot. just january 11-today

mid february
  superfashion, Feb 17 2011

I didn't do a January blog so I'm just going to throw this in here now since I feel like making a blog. I started off in the middle of the January with $18 in my Stars account, determined to stop playing like an idiot after getting crushed on AP and running like $330 below EV while playing like 90% 10NL and 10% 25NL. I started shortstacking the 2NL games and eventually made my way to 5NL. This is no new thing for me; I've always kind of had spurts where I take poker really seriously, then just start spite calling and generally just playing like a moron and giving all my money away. 12tabling 5NL went pretty quickly, and I threw a handful of 5PLO in there, but I've been playing 10NL recently and have my BR up to $365. I actually impressed myself a lot in terms of volume, as I'm currently at Gold star while playing no higher than 10NL, which is something I barely made while playing 25NL last year. I'm looking to try to make Platinum star and clear the $100 in bonuses I have coming up, and then getting the roll to $500-600 in order to start playing them 25NLs. I'm basically just really happy with how I've been playing, and how I've not had the urge to play super underrolled because that's idiotic and it's the main reason I'm always busto. Reading LP has always been inspiring to me because of people like Fayth, Dusty, Wobbly, etc who do very well in poker and I've always looked up to those guys (among many others). My goal is to get up to 50NL in order to be playing high enough where I can have some extra money in my account where I'll be able to withdraw occasionally when I need some pocket money. Obviously 50NL is not the highest I hope to ever play, but I feel it's the most reasonable goal while I'm still at 10NL.

Anyways, thanks for reading LP, and hopefully you won't see a blog in a few weeks about how I turned into a retard and started spewing after multiplying my initial investment by 20. As always, LeeAnn and I want to wish you all GL at the tables, and thank you for reading!

back to stars
  superfashion, Feb 01 2011

cashed out my ap roll because somehow i run like complete shit there (some 30 bi below ev over like 40k hands) and started from scratch at stars. had $18 in my roll, now up over $200 and playing 10nl. trying to think a lot more and generally just improve my game. watching a lot of aejones, ansky, and galfond videos because i feel they describe their thought processes very clearly and i guess i just look up to them more than other instructors for whatever reason. was 12-16 tabling 5nl and jumped down to 4 tables when i got to 10nl and it moves a lot slower but this way i can obviously concentrate better on individual hands. one hand i'm pretty proud of from a session i just played:

duno if that's a brag or whatever but since i'm posting a 10nl blog i had to throw it there because it's definitely my favorite hand since i got back to stars. either way i'm having a blast with poker for the first time in a long time and i hope everyone else is doing the same. for january i made roughly $200 between 2nl and 5nl and i'm looking to keep it up and get back to 25nl, which i feel is the first limit where you can make "decent" money (considering i make $10/hour at my job).

GL at the tables lp leeann and i salute you for reading!
