Time for a new Monitor (help please)
  Balzamon, Jun 18 2009

First of all i know these questions are asked all of the time, i tried search some but didnt find exactly what i wanted, but i keep the question in my blog!

Atm i only have a 22", not really cutting it so i've been thinking of getting myself a 30" to be able to get the max resolution of 2560 x 1600. They are really expensive tho, starting at ~$1700 so i really want to hear opinion from people already having ones. Are they worth it? How many tables do you max out without overlap? Would a 27" cut it just as well? Which brand to go with?

I could also say that im not a masstabler, never more than 8tabling 6max. But atm i use minitables on ipoker, not leaving much room at all for HUD stats and so on so not the ideal situation. What would be the best setup for me?

Thanks for any help <3

Home from Vegas
  Balzamon, Jul 05 2008

Sooo my visa actually did start working again and i had a pretty enjoyable last days in Vegas. Came home 8h ago and is still really really tired, just gonna write a short tournament report for i dunno the purposes (maybe someone wants to read?).

$1500 NL event 49: Lasted 20 mins in this my first live-tournament ever, great indeed! Not much i could do tho, i played 2(!!) freaking hands and i was out... Starting with 3k stack and 60bb deep. I get AA raise it up to 150 from cutoff, btn and bb calls and flop comes QQ9. BB check i bet 200 into this pretty safe flop, btn folds and bb calls. Turn is a blank 3 and it goes check/check and then he donkleads 400 on a K river, bleh spot, what do i beat? But the aggressive internetplayer donk i am i obv call the 1/2 pot bet and he shows a Q and im down 800 chips.

I blind away ~200 more and have 2k left when EP raise it to 200, MP guy calls, i look down at QQ and 3bet to 800, pretty much comitting myself if not the extremest of gay flops comes out. EP folds and MP guy flatcalls again, Flop comes Kxx and he checks to me. Im never folding at this point but checking behind and getting it in on turn may be a better option? I give him a change to do something stupid on turn and bigger chance he calls with 99+ perhaps? Oh well i shove it rigth away 1200 into 1900 and he snaps with AKo, gg.

At least I lasted longer than Cosmo that i met in the hallway right after!

$1500 NL event 52: Lasted a solid 5h in this one! Played pretty perfect all the way imo just didnt get the chips i needed in the end. Best hand was me raising AJs EP, loose/aggressive guy calls LP and tight american livenit calls from BB and flop comes Qd2d2x. BB checks and i fire a 2/3 pot cbet and the loose guy calls and BB folds. Turn comes a J and i check to him and he bets, preeeeetty thought spot. I have just over a miniraise left over his bet so its my tourmanet life on the line, i think for like 4 mins and then ship it in and he instafolds 55.

Last hand i have an OK chipstack but still, blinds moving up fast and you get short really fast, i have like 35bbs i think. I get AA and raise it up and the same loose/aggressive guy (who actually is pretty good postflop player, but hes really to loose at this point playing almost every pot) calls from BB. Flop comes K92 rainbow and he leads 1/2 pot. I mean at this point his range is wiiiiiiiide and he can practially have anything, and i need more chips than just his 1/2 bet with the blinds going up this fast so imo theres nothing else i could do than to slowplay this hand some. So i just calls and the turn comes a Q and he bets 1/2 pot again. I try to look weak and think about things for 2 min and then goes all in and he snaps with his J10 nut straight. So he got his 4-outer, i still think i played that hand pretty perfect since i needed to get the most chips possible at this point, but i never play tourmanets so feel free to tell me if im wrong?

Vegas was a nice experience, but im still glad to be home. Its a very hectic city and way to hot for my taste and you burn $$$ way to fast on a shitloads of things

Going Vegas in 4 days!
  Balzamon, Jun 22 2008

So time is catching up and its only 4 days left untill im flying to Las Vegas for a week (or two) to play WSOP $1500 NL events 49 and 52 (and some other stuff as well i hope). I will be living at Bally's Las Vegas which i believe is on the stripp and at least pretty close to the action.

None of the LP-swedes are going there that i know of and im not really close to many people here but if theres some LP-meetups going during the time im there or if anyone wants to show me around in Vegas a bit it would be great! Just write here or PM me if so!

Not really sure what i want to do in Vegas other than pokering, I heard something about helicopter trips to grand canyon which sounds pretty sweet, anyone know what that cost/where you book it?

Free pokerset wuut?! (for swedes)
  Balzamon, Mar 17 2008

(as the title says this post is pretty much only for swedish people)

I dont know why im making this post, im tired and stumbled across this site which was an ad on http://www.aftonbladet.se/. So its says if i download Titanpoker, register with their bonuscode and put in $20 (120 SEK) i get a baaaaaaaller chipset worth 795 SEK. Since im a cheap motherfucker and need a new chipset (the old one is like drowned in old beer and liquidshit from all the drunk playing) this sounds to good to be true (nothing comes for free!!).

Well maybe its true, if youre a swede check this amaaazing offer out: http://www.pokerproffsen.se/. Since i already have an acc on titan im gonna register with my dads creditcard tomorrow i think, anyone already did this, is it a scam?!

Must be ultimate cheapness to play nl400 and wanting a free chipset so bad but well whatever!

Grinding & Las Vegas plans
  Balzamon, Mar 12 2008

Its almost exactly two months since i dropped down from nl400 to nl200 to rebuild, relearn and gain confedence. So far its going good, its no amazing results but im happy with the $ i make and i think i play solid poker most of the time just need to step up my aggression some. I think I will be ready for nl400 soon again (BR wise i've always been but i have this feeling its a jinxed level). Heres my results so far (like 10k hands and 1k profit is missing), havent played that many hands theese 2 months but i've noticed shorter sessions with just 6 tables have been good for my game:

Ok so in the last blog i wrote about winning a trip to play some WSOP events in LV this summer. Noiqpoker shipped me $4500 yesterday to book flight + hotel and the rest i get to spend on whatever i want. I will play No-Limit Hold'em Event 49 $1500 and No-Limit Hold'em Event 52 $1500 and will be in Vegas june 26th - july 4th i believe.

If anyone got tips on good hotels/casinos i would be very happy since i kinda have no clue (and other general tips would be great). I would like to stay in a nice casino that runs a good $1/2 NL game: Bellagio, the wynn, ceasars palace others? Also it seems hotel costs are pretty expensive and i guess it would cut the costs in half to be two so if someone is in the same situation as me and looking for a pokergeek roomie you can always send me a PM and we can discuss it. Im trying to bring some IRL-friend but no one is very into poker and its a kinda expensive trip so its hard Why cant i have more degen friends!

Oh well cya there!

Going Vegas and WSOP!
  Balzamon, Feb 17 2008

Since my past two blog entries been fairly depressing i guess a happy update for once would be nice! Not only is moving down to nl200 to rebuild confedence going pretty well (running 2.5 ptbb over 30k hands which im ok with) but today i had my first BIG donkament score. The 10 highest people from a ladder today played a 10man Sit&Go with some great prizes:

SHIP!

So a $7500 WSOP package which i believe is some 5k event + 2500 for the trip! If i find a good deal i may sell my donkament spot but either way i will be in Vegas during Wsop!

Lastly thanks to Dzoo who was railing me and giving advice during the tourmanet! <3

Rebuilding
  Balzamon, Nov 18 2007

So this is my first blogpost. I felt like creating it now to reflect abit over things so i can look back at it when things (hopefully) turns around.

Had a pretty hot run hole summer and all the way to november where it crashed, or not really crashed but i've lost 20 buy ins on nl400 which is a limit im fairly new at so it hurts, my peak was at -25 buy ins:

It was a very intense period with 60k hands over 15 days (i was doing a rakerace) and i felt very frustrated a couple of sessions and had my first tilting sessions for perhaps 5 months which im very not proud of - thought i was way ahead of that stage but clearly not.

Tho with rakeback and winning $2k in the race i just lost $2000 in total which is nothing but still after 80 hours it feels like shit !

Even tho im still very well rolled for nl400 im gonna go down to nl200 to find my A-game again, win a minimum of 10 buy ins and then move back up again. I feel im way ahead of the average player on nl400 ipoker but i found myself having BIG leaks when under great pressure and i probably could've cut this loss to half with the right discipline.

Had my first little nl200 session today, went ok:

No biggy but always nice to book a win after a downswing.

Also congrats to Locoo that won a "VIP"-invitetournament at the same site which i play (Ipoker - Noiqpoker). A 10man Sit&Go where top 3 won tickets to EPT, i was also in it but with my november luck I busted out first, shame that extra 8k euro would've been great ! But at least a LP-member took it down!
