Grinding a lot online lately
  RaiNKhAN, Mar 03 2008

Finally back in my rhythm after a lot of pep-talks with players like mig.com, SooCrispy, tjbentham and my brother(not a poker player). While being a tournament player you go through a series of devasting emotions when you see your fellow colleuges crushin the online tournaments and raking in the big $20,000.00+ scores weekly. I always questioned myself after the WSOP, because I hadn't won anything big online since the end of October. I know now that after all this travelling on the live circuit and running of the mind that the only real way to see a secure consistent winning month is to put in excessive amounts of volume and dedication to the game. People really aren't joking when they say they're grinding. As tedious as this game can be, I think it's the quality of how repetitive things can get which makes it so highly profitable since our opponents we choose to profit off of are poor at maintaining their focus for such an extended period of time. That being said, LEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTSSSSSSSS GGGGGGGGETTTTTTT READDDDDDDDYYYYYYYY TOOOOO RRRRUUUUUUMMMMMMMMBBBBBBBBBLLLLLLEEEEEE!

Tough Sunday
  RaiNKhAN, Feb 25 2008

Didn't cash in any of the tournaments I played today, as well as yesterday. I think a big part
of the reason I haven't shown much success online since the WSOP is two things: a.) i'm not putting
in enough volume into high-edge tournaments loaded with fish, and b.) i'm putting in too high
of a % of the volume that I put into poker by playing tougher fields with low edge like the
100+rebuys on pokerstars.

It's my belief that even if you get deep in the 100+rebuys whether it is on the weekend(easier
because it gets larger fields---> therefore higher % of drawing an easy table and more fish)
or not you will end up having a tough time exploiting players in the ways that is neccessary in
order to chip up properly to give yourself the best shot at winning. You need to enter fields
that will give you almost hardly any resistence in order to profit well. Profitting well helps
build your confidence and eventually helps make you a sicko. Now, i'm not advocating to just
stomp on fish all day, plenty of nice tournaments online have good amounts of tournament regulars
and hyper aggressive players to make sure you don't slack off and keep on your toes at all times.

I'm going to start cutting out certain tournaments from my schedule for my own good, and the
100+rebuys is the new candidate. As competitive as I may be, I think with my age and experience
on the live circuit throughout the past 6 months that somethings in life are better off left alone.

Been a while.
  RaiNKhAN, Feb 23 2008

Well I know the last time I posted I said I would be updating people as often as I could with my success on the circuit. Apparently, I haven't kept my word and I apologize. Since last summer ended with the WSOP, I've been to EPT London, EPT Baden, World Poker Finals @ Foxwoods, APPT-Macau (China), Bellagio Five Diamond (GJ Daut ), EPT-PCA, Borgata WPT Winter open, and LAPC. It's been a busy year, and as far as i'm concerned I don't think i'm quite prepared to lead a life on the circuit every single minute of every single day. Currently, i'm on a little R & R at home and taking two months off until the end of March where I will be attending the next WPT Event taking place @ Foxwoods, and right after that the Bellagio Five Star. I'm looking forward to it because i've been eating well for the past 1-2 weeks and working out on the new Nutri-system diet. Pretty much with Nutri-system they deliver you frozen TV-type dinners which you can eat for all three meals of the day and its all legitimately healthy with low-calorie intake. I customized my order so that they only sent me the good tasting stuff. Right now it's Lasange, Pizza, Ravioli and Beef Tacos. I've been working out on my exercise bike which i have stationed right in front of my mounted 46'' LCD, so I can watch movies while I bike (makes it really easy to get good workouts in per day). I've gotten into staking players again recently, and with my new agenda and schedule, I should be getting in good shape and preparation to enter the circuit with a much fresher mind and body.

If anyone here is interested in chatting tournament strategy on a consistent basis with me i'm down. I only ask this because as of lately I want to try and get more involved with the community here in order to improve, because from what I've seen, the people that post the most and work the hardest seem to have been the ones who continually improve and have accomplished a lot. That being said...

LETS GET IT ON! : - )

edit: Looking to chat with people who actually play the same fields that I do, both online and live. I'm not lookin to teach or give lessons, that will just take forever, because who wouldnt want free lessons? gl

I'm excited
  RaiNKhAN, Oct 16 2007

About nine months ago I quit as a full-time SNG player to become a full-time MTT player. After my huge score in the series I had several months to reflect on what had happened, how to deal with it, and what I am going to do for the next couples of years.

I've decided that I'm going to travel as much as possible and enter all of the events on the live circuit. I'll update this blog somewhat routinely with pictures (I know it's not fun to view a blog or any sort of online journal of an event without pictures). I hope to do my best and I'll keep pushing until I land a win in one of these live events.

Good luck on today's and future sessions, fellas.
