Wardrobe help
  Daut, Aug 07 2012

I kinda want to revamp what I wear. i basically dress like a 15 year old high school athlete and its time to change that. i've tried to get my girlfriend to help a bit but what she likes and what I like are so far different that Id rather get some other opinions and form something thats more of my own style.

I searched some of the old threads on LP (http://www.liquidpoker.net/poker-forum/559749/Clothing_thread.html) but given how much people were recommending ed hardy and affliction shirts, I think it's safe to say that those threads are outdated.

I guess i'll just go over every part of an outfit that I need help with. I've got nice pairs of jeans, nice dress shirts, a good pair of sandals and finding cool sneakers is really easy. so i need help with shorts and casual every day shirts.

i mostly just wear t shirts. lots of jiu jitsu tees like these:

finding t shirts to wear is easy and i can do that either online or at a place like pac sun. finding nice polos and casual every day shirts is not. it doesnt help that i have a hard body to find shirts for. im 6'0 170 so im tall but pretty thin. muscle wise i have lean arms, a very small chest and a thin frame but well developed shoulders. so basically mediums are snug on me and really short while larges are the right length but are extremely loose fitting around my arms and chest.

any recommendations for nice casual every day shirts that arent t shirts and arent golf shirts? one big pet peeve i have is guys who dress like they are a professional golfer every day. looks really stupid to me. just as i imagine me dressing like im some pro mma fighter looks really stupid to them.

As of now I wear 3 types of shorts:
board shorts:

bball shorts:

very casual but not workout shorts like these:

but these really arent enough. any recommendations on other good every day shorts to wear?

i also have absolutely 0 sense of what kind of stuff matches together to the point that I probably come off like I have aspergers lol. what are big no-nos for matching shorts and tops? and what colors go well together or dont go well together?

thanks

Scoop: selling action
  Daut, May 01 2012

gonna be selling action to a few of the high buyin events.

here are the tourneys I will definitely be selling to, percents im selling, and markups i will be charging:
**SOLD OUT** may 6, event 2: 2100 NL, 1m guarantee, selling 70%, 1.143:1
**SOLD OUT** may 13, event 20: 2100 NL, 750k guarant, selling 70%, 1.125:1
**SOLD OUT** may 13, event 21: 2100 NL, 1m guarantee, selling 70%, 1.143:1
may 20, event 40: 10300 NL,2.5m guarant, selling 80%, 1.0875:1

if scoop isnt going well ill probably sell action to some of the 1ks. if scoop is going well ill probably take a shot in the 5k plo, the 2k 6max events and maybe some of the weekday tourneys. but im going to concentrate on 9max NL events to start out. I will be selling each of these individually.

anyway, gonna be selling for the 2k high event on may 6 here.
1.143:1 which means ill sell 70% for 80%. gonna end up swapping around 5% and have 25% for myself. going to limit my tables to around 6-8 tops once this tourney starts and wont register much after it starts to concentrate more on this tourney.

1% = 24
2% = 48
5% = 120
10% = 240

ship to Daut44 (Canada), wanderlei silva avatar

avatar pictured here:

unfortunately cant accept funds on moneybookers at this point cause of my shitty limits. maybe by the end of scoop those will be raised.

A different kind of month: merge, coaching, AUTHOR
  Daut, Apr 26 2012

Pre-black friday my monthly poker routine would be to play something like 60 hours of cash and 25 hours of sunday tournaments in a month. I was never a huge grinder, but I was pretty consistent about putting in decent volume for the 5 years I had been a professional poker player. I never put in a shitload of volume, but I never really burned out and felt like retiring. I would spend a few hours doing staking stuff here and there, but I would rarely put in more than 90-100 hours into poker each month.

Post black friday has been different for me. I have a girlfriend and a dog living in california, so permanent relocation wasnt an option for me. But neither was sitting on my ass doing nothing. I rented a place in canada for 6 months and bounced back and forth spending roughly 12 days a month in canada. While I was up there I felt forced to play more hours per day to make up for having a smaller window of time to play. Then when I would return to the USA I would take it easy and not grind.

April was the first month since july that I spent 0 time outside the country. As a backer, I always try to put in extra volume in the months leading up to black friday so I can make more money before the most expensive time of the year. I felt the need to put in my hours somehow, but I have no desire to play live poker. I turned back to HEROPOKER.

i deposited about 1k on hero a year ago and fully expected to be able to run it up to infinite like I was nanonoko. It didn't work out like that. Building from a small roll was a lot harder than I expected. The merge games have lots of regulars that arent bad, the mid-higher stakes games arent great and dont run, and my shots worked out horribly. Coming into this month I had just under 7k on the site that I had built up from the original 1k, but had no way to cash it out.

I went through the process of filling out all the annoying forms so I could cash out to moneybookers and cashed out 3k leaving myself just under 4k there to start april. I put in about 70 hours of grinding and have built it up to about 7600 at all 50 and 100plo.

With my 35% rakeback and side bonuses this worked out to +3600 for a whopping 50 bucks an hour. Even though its a small hourly, i'm proud I was able to obtain that playing such low stakes on a non pokerstars network. I also spent a lot more time battling than I do on stars. Since there are so many tables that run on stars, I usually just pick the 4-8 best ones and grind those for a huge winrate. I decided to use merge as more of an experiment and try to battle regs and improve my mass multitabling. I spent a lot of time 12 tabling in tougher lineups and feel like my PLO game is getting much better and look forward to hopefully starting to move back up in limits on stars when I go to vancouver for scoop.

In addition to merge, I did 6 hours of PLO coaching, made 9 MTT videos for cardrunners and have written about 90% (about 80 pages) of an e-book on backing. I sent it to a few tournament players to find out what they think about it and see if I left anything out, but I am hoping to release it sometime in may before the WSOP starts. I don't expect to make a ton on the book, but if I can even make 5 figures out of it ill be happy.

In terms of poker grinding, I didnt put in more hours than I usually do. But combined with my videos, coaching and writing I dont think I have ever worked harder in a single month. The month still has 5 days left and I've probably put in about 125 hours of work and probably made about 20k in equity with everything added together.

gonna add in a quick poll. how much do you guys think I should charge for the e-book? keep in mind the following: there has been NOTHING written about backing in the poker world and a good amount of people would be interested/learn from it as it covers things like buying/selling pieces extensively as well as all other parts of backing and being backed such as makeup deals, finding horses, finding backers, setting up a deal, problems that can occur and contracts.

Poll: How much should Daut charge?
(Vote): $10: everyone can afford!
(Vote): $25: cheap but you will still make money
(Vote): $50: value bet everyone!
(Vote): $100: value bet bigger and get called half as often!
(Vote): $200: expensive but comparable to other in depth books
(Vote): $500+: if people really want this info they'll pay for it

Balance is difficult
  Daut, Jan 24 2012

I've always thought deep down inside that I was horrible at balancing my own play at the tables. Occasionally playing a hand a certain way in order to have said hand in your range is not the equivalent of being balanced. You have to make a commitment to do it regularly and often. Life is much the same.

Its been a struggle to balance playing poker, working out, hanging out with friends, and learning new things all at the same time. I'm the kind of guy who gets real obsessed about things for a little while, then move on to something else, move back to the first thing, etc. I've never been good at keeping my life balanced. Ill spend a week playing skyrim and doing nothing else. Ill go on a bender and go out with my buddies 3-4 nights in a row then stop. Ill play a bunch of poker for 2-3 weeks then ill take a month off.

Although its probably not the best solution for a number of reasons, I decided to give some of my buddies freerolls to ensure i keep my life balanced.

im in vancouver for the next couple weeks and offered 4 friends the following freerolls:
1. josh - $50 every day i dont play at least 2k hands
2. his fiance emily - $50 every day i dont work out
3. nick - $50 every day i dont work on rosetta stone spanish
4. his fiance leah - $50 every day i dont hang out with at least one of them.

it would probably be better to get to the root of the problem and solve the underlying issues through logic and practice, but I think getting myself into a routine of doing things on a daily basis will break my bad habits.

sorry for the weak ass blogpost. i recently went to costa rica and was gonna do a writeup with lots of pics about the trip, but the girls i went with are lagging to post the pictures on facebook. something about them all needing to sign off on any pictures uploaded so none of them look awful in any picture online. as always, estrogen, the antithesis to reason. ill make that update when they post them finally

Offering Coaching
  Daut, Dec 11 2011

It really bothers me that there are lots of huge scams going on in the areas of coaching players. I dont think there is a lot of good/affordable coaching out there. I also want to give myself a way to make more money when I am not in canada and cant play online.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/lessons/teacherlist.php

Prices:
Through January 31, 2012:

PLO coaching: $125 an hour
full ring NL: $100 an hour
MTT: $75/hr

After Feb 1, 2012 (refer to post #20 in this thread):

PLO coaching: $175 an hour
full ring NL: $150 an hour
MTT: $125 an hour

get 4 hours of coaching, 5th hour is free

I would consider trying a different method (ie % of profits) for a reputable lower stakes PLO/NL player who cant afford it. I would try to work something out with someone who wanted coaching but doesnt have a lot of money.

i only offer coaching in these 3 things as they are the only I have been beating the past few years for good winrates. I dont have every hand I've ever played, but these are about 95% of my online cash game hands since october 2009. of this 26 month period, I took lots of time off due to travel, breaks, and the DOJ. my total hours played is listed as 891, which makes my hourly $105.76, which is how i chose my coaching rates.

Prior to these hands, from 2005-october 2009, I made about 200k in NL cash on pokerstars, 75k in NL cash on full tilt, 100k in PLO cash, and made about 30k total on ub/cake/merge total. in total ive made roughly 500k from online cash games + maybe 150k worth of rakeback/fpps.

In live tournaments, I am up approximately 1.3-1.4million dollars with 3 major final tables in WPT events. In online tournaments I am up about 315k total. +387k on stars, up about 15k on ub/other sites and down about 85k on ftp.

http://www.officialpokerrankings.com/...348EBEFEA4DC1D6AD2.html?t=2&rc=229941
http://www.officialpokerrankings.com/...8B98D5DC446155B5B5.html?t=2&rc=292714

However I am not a tournament regular. I only play a few hundred a year and stay up to date on how the game is played, but since it is not my main game I dont feel comfortable charging the same price as I do for PLO or NL.

I would do anything from hand history reviews to going through sessions to watching a current session to theory. For theory I would probably either require more hours or a higher rate due to a lot of preparation required. But I would be fair in how that rate was decided. Whatever the student wants, as long as I know ahead of time.

I am not available at all times as I do spend a lot of time traveling. But in any given month there is at least a 2 week period where I would be available.

I have done a little bit of formal coaching, but not much. However, I have made 15+ videos for cardrunners.com and have experience explaining my thoughts in all 3 games.

either post here or send me a pm if you are interested.

awesome danish documentary
  Daut, Sep 12 2011

the country not the pastry

lots of documentaries being posted on the blogs so i thought id post one. i watched an amazing one the other day, it was about danish soldiers

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1640680/

In February 2009 a group of Danish soldiers accompanied by documentary filmmaker Janus Metz arrived at Armadillo, an army base in the southern Afghan province of Helmand. Metz and cameraman Lars Skree spent six months following the lives of young soldiers situated less than a kilometer away from Taliban positions. The outcome of their work is a gripping and highly authentic war drama that was justly awarded the Grand Prix de la Semaine de la Critique at this year's Cannes film festival. But it also provoked furious debate in Denmark concerning the controversial behavior of certain Danish soldiers during a shootout with Taliban fighters. The filmmakers repeatedly risked their lives shooting this tense, brilliantly edited, and visually sophisticated probe into the psychology of young men in the midst of a senseless war whose victims are primarily local villagers. Yet more disturbing than scenes in which Taliban bullets whiz past their cameras is the footage of the young soldiers as each tries, in his own way, to come to terms with putting his life constantly on the line.

heres a link to part 1:

really insane to think the cameraman was walking around during all of this. hes got fucking balls

HERO POKER GRIND
  Daut, May 06 2011

So post black friday I initially tried to be a live pro. After my 3rd session went pretty poorly I decided I needed online. Just cant deal with the commute, the waitlists, the slowness and everything else that comes with playing live poker.

So this week I started playing on hero poker. I talked a bunch with the ceo david through pm/email/skype and deposited 250 bucks on monday because thats the max I could put on with just a visa card. Began by playing mostly 25nl and mixing in some 50nl to try to aggressively build a bankroll while also limiting my risk of ruin. After 2 days I managed to build my roll up to about 550 between my winnings, rakeback and bonuses unlocked but it was going pretty slowly.

Realizing I needed more money, I took the steps necessary to western union 1k over there. On wednesday the only thing i knew about western union was that scammers always try to get noobs to send money using it. But it was actually really easy and painless. Took me 10 minutes at western union, 20 minute drive back, entered the MTCN into the site and within 5 minutes the money was in my account. really awesome stuff.

with a bankroll of 1550 i could then aggressively take shots at bigger games and PLO. ran a little bad at 1/2 PLO, but still doing well.

results after 4 days:

Adding in 35% rakeback and the 80 dollars in bonuses ive unlocked and my roll is at about 1800. making 550 in 19 hours of play over 4 days is pretty retarded under normal circumstances, but its kinda fun trying to take shots in games and move up through the limits quickly.

My goal is to play 45k hands this month and have my roll at 5k by the time i head to vegas for WSOP. I never plan on having more than 10-15k on there just to be cautious, but enough so i can play in the midstakes nl/plo games.

Once I hit 5k ill probably cash out 1500 just so i can immediately book a profit on the venture and at least make it not a losing proposition in the very small chance that the worst case scenario happens. But I expect to be able to make about 5-10k a month online longterm supplemented by what I can make on days when live games are soft like during wsop or if I decided to go to the commerce on weekends.

Its not nearly as well as I was doing before playing full time or even if I were to play full time live, but its much more convenient to play from home and be able to play whenever i have a free 2 hour block and i wont have to put in the super long hours of playing in a casino either.

on an end note, i strongly urge everyone to sign up at hero poker. David is the most hands on CEO i have ever seen and does an amazing job with the site. Not to mention between the bonuses, freerolls, rakeback and things like tournament tickets you will probably earn about 50-60% in rakeback over your first 5k in rake paid.

Of course there is uncertainty these days about playing online poker in the united states, but depositing a small amount of money that is not life changing to you and trying to run it up is a good idea.

Random MMA thoughts (TL;DR)
  Daut, Dec 29 2008

or many of you this is going to be a tl;dr (too long, didnt read). i dont care, read what you want, just gotta get all the random thoughts in my head out.....

-i liked how wandy looked at points during the fight. he still has that insane focus and drive to murder his opponent. he is a bit slower nowadays and his wildness doesnt work out as much anymore because of his decreased speed. this will hurt him in title contention fights but hes still a very exciting guy who people should love to watch and he could definitely put out good fights still, just not top 5 205 ones. i think a move to 185 could be fun, as well as some good fights vs some other 205s that arent rampage/shogun/rashad/machidaanderson if he moves up and a couple others

-rampage looked soooo nervous coming into the fight. im a huge huge wandy fan but coming into this fight i felt like rampage had every advantage. better technical boxer, better cage suited style, has improved, wandy has gotten slower, etc. but as they were doing their cage entrances, something looked really really off in quinton. he was scared to death of wandy, you could tell. in that walk my confidence in wandy was reborn and i was pretty sure wandy would finish off the threepeat and tko him. it took a minute or two but he calmed down, settled into his own and looked good.

this win will give rampage a huge amount of confidence and to me its clear that right now hes the best 205 on the planet (unless shogun comes back 100% and says otherwise). he says he wants to rematch forrest and i still think hes a huge favorite against forrest. he will KILL rashad. this isnt a "forrest has a better reach than rashad so he should be able to pepper and have an advantage", this is a "god poor rashad is going to die if he fights rampage". the only people who have what i think is a decent shot (>30% of winning) vs rampage are shogun (who at 100% is still a favorite) and machida (who gives anyone fits).

-ill take the first tangent and talk about how good rashad looked. hes so quick, so accurate with his punches and extremely composed. forrest was doing a really really good job round 2 but rashad never faltered, stayed really confident and eventually found a spot. now, as stated above i think rampage will obliterate him. but it appears as if his first title defense will be against machida. that should be a pretty fun to mma fans (but might be kinda boring to casual fans). rashad is real fast but doesnt have the reach machida does, and should have some problems hitting machida cause of lyoto's own speed. i suspect it will go to a decision and either machida will win because he peppered a lot more, or rashad will win because machida didnt pepper that much more and rashad controlled the octagon.

besides machida/rampage i think he matches up really well vs a lot of other guys in the division. extremely well vs jardine (who leaves his face open for rashads quick striking), well vs wandy (same thing as jardine), not THAT well vs chuck: lets face it, chuck is a passive outboxer with good reach, good takedown defense and really pinpoint striking. if chuck could come back 100% i think rashad vs chuck is a tossup. in either case though, rashad has earned his #2 spot in the 205 division and has most certainly earned his belt so congrats to him. of course he will be ranked #1, but we know the true #1 is rampage.

-machida is fighting thiago silva next. i dont have much faith in thiago silva's proclamations that he knows how to beat machida and i see machida winning a UD. then he will fight rashad and we get to see an interesting chess match that people will sadly boo. im really excited to see machida vs top competition. he matchs up really well vs wandy/chuck/all wrestlers/all bjj guys/most of the division. i do think machida can beat rampage because rampage still hasnt shown he is going to deal with leg kicks and machida wont get hit very often, but rampage can cut off angles and control the fight. i think machida can beat forrest, but again thats not an easy fight for him. same with shogun. same with rashad. only the fights happening will really tell us what will happen.

-i talked a lot about a 100% shogun in the previous paragraphs and yes its all speculation and praying, but i think shogun will come back very strong. if he doesnt, well, just delete his name from all those paragraphs and hes not who he used to be. if he does come back well.....he is a nightmare to fight against. really aggressive striker like wandy, but also has better wrestling, faster, is still young, and has better reach and slightly more technical punching. every fight fan should pray he comes back 100% because then it adds another element to the 205 division and will make things a lot of fun to watch. if he doesnt....lets just remember him for what he was and how much potential he had.

-i think forrest looked excellent the first two rounds. his lack of a spectacular area in fighting is really going to hurt him vs a lot of guys. hes kinda good in every area, but lacks the power, athleticism, speed, and doesnt have amazing wrestling or bjj so its going to be hard for him to beat really really tough guys. however, he is a smart guy who has learned to use his size/reach very well, will outwork anyone, and never gives up so he will continue to compete at a high level in this division for a long time.

-i think nog just looked awful. he looked old, slow, depressed, worn, everything that we knew would eventually happen but didnt think would happen when he was only 32. i hope (and dont hope cause its a morbid thought to want him to have depression so he has a brighter future than we think) that he had some depression or something going on mentally that prevented the old nog from coming out and fighting because he looked really really bad. it made me want to immediately drop him from the top 10 hws because it looks like he just cant cut it anymore, sometimes youre only as good as your last fight. it wasnt like wandy who was still ferocious and focused but a little slower, or chuck who got flash ko'ed by an extremely quick handed fighter in september, he just looked really bad. this is what made me the most sad of anything from ufc 92.

people get old, their bodies break down and they arent the same anymore. its a sad thing that happens in heavy contact sports and fighting sports. it was only a matter of time till the massive amounts of abuse took its toll and i hope this isnt the last we have to see of nog. thankfully a guy like fedor hasnt taken much punishment (because hes just that much better than everyone) and will continue to fight at an extremely high level for a long time to come, allowing us as fans to see some of the fights we've always wanted to see without having to wonder how it would have went 5 years back.

-mir looked really good. not "OMG HE WOULD DESTROY AA, BARNETT AND FEDOR", but very good. crisp boxing, decent kicks, obviously improved cardio, very relaxed and composed. i think hes definitely the #4 heavyweight in the world right now and should be a favorite on brock given his size, newfound cardio, good boxing, and his obvious submission advantage over brock. i think mir will give trouble to anyone in the ufc, and hes similar to a gonzaga right now, but a little better mentally and with much better cardio. will be fun to see how the ufc hw division unfolds with gonzaga/kongo hopefully starting to step up to a higher level so we can see some fun fights and matchups.

-i tried to rank the heavyweight division after saturday night and couldnt get past #4. it was so hard for me to rank. my top 4 is fedor, AA, barnett, frank mir. after that it became a blur. lesnar and sylvia have to be in the top 10 in my opinion, and preferably #5 and #6. after that, having to choose 4 fighters out of werdum, gonzaga, kongo, sergei, overeem, crocop, nog, randy, aleksander, and ben rothwell. (imo cain, carwin and junior are not ready). i guess ill just type rankings and not be a copout, but imo theres a top 6 then a pack of guys who are either over the hill, unknown potential, and solid fighters.

my top 20 in order: fedor, AA, barnett, mir, lesnar, sylvia, sergei, overeem, gonzaga, kongo, randy, ben rothwell, crocop, nog, werdum, aleks, junior, carwin, cain. for #20, bleh who even cares, gilbert yvel? i moved nog so low because of my above arguments about how it looked nog was done and not just a fluke fight. if i thought it was just an off fight id have put him #8 and waited to see how he turns out, but i just dont have any faith in his standup/reflexes/speed anymore.

-im really excited for k1 dynamite and you guys should be too. here are some of my breakdowns on fights (who gives a fuck what i think!):

aoki vs alvarez - really cool fight. at first thought eddie would handle aoki because of great striking, good sub defense, good wrestling, but seriously, i thought the same thing about jz vs aoki back in may. what makes this different? really hard to call but im gonna say eddie UD or TKO but would not be surprised if aoki subbed him, or got control of his back or something.

hansen vs JZ - i think JZ wins pretty easily, either by TKO or UD. hes stronger, great wrestling, great bjj, really good sub defense, i just dont see hansen having an edge here. i was surprised to see joachim is 5'10 because he always looked really small to me and i always thought he should fight at 145, but i guess he has a reach advantage? i dunno, i think JZ wins this. lets not forget he was widely considered a top 3 155 before the aoki fights, and his skillset is very diverse and hes great everywhere.

crocop vs hmc - wow, hmc is so indestrucible (only ko or tko was broken rib vs badr), and this is an mma fight. i dont know if crocop can ninja an armbar like fedor did but who knows, he seems pretty confident in his grappling skills; didnt he agree to a sub grappling fight in one of the dreams vs a gracie??? really weird fight, im going out on a limb and say crocop by armbar (hahahaha sick pun amiright)

badr hari vs overeem - k1 rules. sorry alistair, badr is the man. his combos are so incredibly fast and i dont think his chin is THAT bad. does anyone know if there is a weight limit to this? theyre both big guys, badr is about 6'5-6'6 225-230, overeem 6'5 235-240. i just see badr winning by tko or in a decision, hes just too good.

sakuraba vs kiyoshi - i honestly dont know lol. i dont know much about kiyoshi so ill avoid this one! my rant/thoughts, my dodge!

jerome lebanner vs mark hunt - weird fight as well. both have been fairly inactive lately. jerome has had knee problems. who knows how his knees will be this fight and if it needs to be stopped because of it. i assume jerome would win by UD if both were 100%.....but that seems impossible. mark hunt by either ko or ud.

and NOW its time for a small rant about this card. while k1 dynamite does have really great fights and cool matchups to see, it bothers me that the fights dont really mean anything. the only implication to anything on the card is that if alvarez wins he should auto win fighter of the year. besides that....if aoki wins what does it mean? he gets to fight another cool fight in a couple months? ok....if he loses? same shit. i really love that the ufc fights mean something in terms of stepping stones for title shots. everyone's goal is to win the belt and to get there they have to put together a series of wins. when people are fighting over in japan in 2 or 3 different promotions, its just a bunch of fun fights that fans want to see without much meaning besides overall ranking in the division and possible awards for fight of the year, fighter of the year, etc. how to fix this? i dont know. have dream get bigger and have fighters defend belts, have obvious depth charts with who gets next title shot etc.

hmm anything else i can rant about?

-diego at 155.....really excited to see diego vs sherk, diego vs kenny. i think sherk beats diego because of better standup, close ground games. diego vs kenny......kenny might just outfight him on the feet and keep it close enough on the ground to not lose. not easy fights for diego but definitely head asploding ones that icant wait to watch.

-my first thought after the thiago vs kos fight was that thiago matched up perfectly vs gsp and had a good chance to win. well im back to reality and i think gsp will set up his takedowns much better than kos did, and also will come up with a good gameplan to fight him. i still think thiago matches up well....just not as well as i originally thought. i say gsp -160 to win this.

before we get there though, gsp has to get through bj. gsp should win with good legkicks, avoiding boxing, using his wrestling smartly. obviously bj can win if he controls the ground, gains top position, is allowed to box for extended periods of time. really cool fight and should be a really really good one. but i would much rather see gsp win just because of the future matchups in each division (and possible moveups to 185 to fight anderson) are better if bj is at 155 and gsp is champ at 170.

-and finally the 185 division is a wreck. why is leites getting a shot over okami/maia? i understand okami is kinda boring but he beat anderson and has definitely earned his shot. he had a shot and had to pull out because of a hand injury give it to him again . anderson by murder over thales.

and why are rich/hendo fighting to be TUF9 coach for middleweights. rich moves up to 205, fights hendo at 205, then winner comes and coaches tuf and a 185 fight vs....bisping? can we please have maia tuf9 coach, that would be so much better.......

-TITO FIGHT IN AFFLICTION VS BABALU OR LITTLE NOG. TY

-and finally, some awards for the year, mostly stolen from mma live's categories

fight of the year: 1. carlos condit vs miura 2. hansen vs alvarez 3. torres vs maeda

fighter of the year: depends on k1 dynamite..... if alvarez wins hes #1. if alvarez loses, thiago alves is #1.

breakout star: gegard mousasi. nobody knew who he was last year. went 6-0 this year, won dream mw gp, and beat a sick striker and sick bjj guy in same night.

ko of the year: 1. rashad vs chuck 2. kos vs yoshida so many other great ones i cant pick after that

sub of the year: 1. palhares armbar vs salaverry 2. miguel torres vs chase beebe (torres was jockeying for a sub for like 2 or 3 minutes and there was some sick technical shit going on, highly recommend you go back and watch this) 3. asilva vs hendo honorable mention: dustin hazelett reverse armbar, nate diaz triangle, frank mir leglock brock, cb peruvian necktie, the aoki top position gogoplata was cool as well

upset of the year: forrest vs rampage was huge and also had great meaning. mir vs nog i was so sure nog would win but i dont know if it can be considered an upset with how bad nog looked. if i knew how each fighter would look in the fight i dont think this was an upset at all. and huge underdogs winning like junior dos santos, and the guy who beat gomi should also be considered. overall i give it to forrest for 2nd year in a row lol
