Hey LP, been a while. Took a break from my microstakes limits these past months and played it safe and worked full time to pay for my college engineering program. It's been going well, and I'm eager for skewl to start again. A few friends have got me back into poker (even though I never really left, I've been lurking forums, mainly this one obv, and have been scavenging every video I could get).

So life update. I'm hoping to finally move out with a few buds closer to school come 2nd semester. I'm planning to make poker my part-time supplemental income during this first semester. I play NL25 still and I have been making good progress over the last few days of July. Soon I hope to move up to NL50 and really bug all you hardcore grinders on hands and whatnot. So without further ado, here's my very small session i played today.

I'm not a fan of sessioning after I do a 9 hour physical labour job, but I said what the hell, and went ahead anyway. Basically for the rest of August, I'd like to set myself up so I can really make some money over the course of this school semester. I'm not talking thousands of dollars like some of you balla's, but realistically, a good amount more than I would working a standard gay $10 an hour job. So from here on out, I plan to session more and analyze more than I ever have to set myself up for this coming sept.

August goals:
1) Reach Silverstar. Sad I know, I've never been above bronzestar ever. Shouldnt be difficult.
2) 1250 br. Currently at 800. dumdumdum 1250-800=450, so bi-wise, thats what? 18 buyins? k...
3) Take a few shots at nl50.

All these I think are good starts for setting myself up for treating poker as supplemental income while going through my engineering program, which god knows is a freakin workload in itself. But looking forward to it. If I do amazingly well, I may alter/make new ones half way through. Wish me luck!

Sup everyone. Been a while since I've blogged, so here I am. I took a shot at 4 tabling NL25 with a bit of an under-rolled bankroll but I've been doing okay. I think I'm on a bit of a dry spell, but trying to make the best of it. I started today finishing a session up a buy in and then entered the weekly lp flipament and luckboxed my way to the victory. I've been doing okay I guess, I feel like like I'm not making much progress seeing as how almost every one of my poker friends play higher stakes with more success than me, but once I saw the graph of may so far, I realize it's going pretty solid:

Now that college is over, I have more time to devote to poker and poker theory. Hopefully I can really make something of this and eventually play NL100 one day (my ultimate poker goal since the starting).

As for May however, I've decided to set some realistic goals that I feel I'm capable of reaching with satisfactory time consumption.

1) Silverstar. I've never reached anything past bronze, so meh, any upgrade is a treat in itself.
2) 800 br. Currenty sits at 600. 8 bi's in 26 days is what most of you laugh at, but I seem to have a problem with spewing now and again. But meh, hopefully this goal I will crush.
3) Work hard on my post-flop play. This is where I'm struggling hard I think -_-

And if anyone wants an extra contact/poker buddy on their msn list, plz add me canadiankick@hotmail.com. Or PMme or leave contact info in comments. I don't have too many so my resources are limited, but not really, since my friends are pretty active, but a few more contanct are for sure always welcome to discuss poker analysis and shit.

Not many of you know me, as I am fairly new to the scene and am still a newb at poker. I am seeking some advice and tips from more experienced players however atm. My cash game is weak, but I've still made good progress with my bank roll. I have almost x9'ed my bankroll of 50 initally from just a few buyins to tournaments. I broke even after a few thousand hands at NL10 today. Pathetic eh? I mean I watch videos of everything I can get. But still I seem to struggle at cash. Tourney's however I'm flying through, and I enjoy them more all the while feeling more comfortable in them.

So my question is, at my current state, should I be continuing playing tournaments which I love, or keep focusing on cash games (which I also like, dont get me wrong, but just not as much)?

Are there such players who purely play tournaments?

On an ending note, just finished 3rd in 4$ 180 man for 86$ or whatever dollars it is. Last hand lost my AA vs his 87 :( But keep shipping the warm weather :)

Peace.
