Pretty blah week, running fairly bad spewing my fair share once I'm tilted. On the upside I've been stopping without doing any real damage to my bankroll which is always good. At the moment it seems no matter what my play is it has been wrong. Get it in top 2 guy runs out his draw, get it in with an over pair villian hit a set. Just variance but that doesn't make it any better, just understandable. Gonna keep at it and see where I can be by years end. On the upside I should be hearing back about that job sometime early this week and hopefully I will be getting a second interview. Guess only time will tell.

Well this last week overall has been going pretty well. I've been playing mostly cashgames and while I have had the occasional 2-3 buyin downswing overall it has went well. Tonight got saved by some drunk retard who was playing so so so horrendously bad. I think I took 3-4 buyins off in 20 hands it was great. Earlier in the day I didn't fair so well running quads into bigger quads, but hey thats poker.

As for real life stuff I had my interview today for the underwriter job and it went pretty well, apparently there was something like 200 people that applied for 5 openings. I'm feeling pretty good about it though the interviewer said they only called 35 people back and they were going to finish the first round of interviews this week and be making call backs for 2nd interviews starting the week after. I figure with all the strings that got pulled for me I should be in good shape and it sounds like an excellent opportunity. The department I'd be entering requires that you know pretty much everything there is to know about insurance so I'd have to take 5-6 tests and go through 8 weeks of training before I even started my actual job. At that point it'd be baby steps with a mentors help for the first two years. From there it would be pretty much free reign. Other perks 20% of the companies workforce is retiring in the next 5 years which means tons of opportunity for advancement, and since I would be trained in all aspects I can go anywhere in the company. Other perks they have further paid training/testing for everyone and the graduation is held at a random place each year. Every 10 years they have it in Hawaii so there's another huge perk. On top of that they have there own restaurant, cafeteria, theater, golf course, and full gym which are all complemtary(with golf as the exception) to employees. Overall it looks like an amazing opportunity and I'm really hoping that it works out.

Been playing a ton of SNG's and they are going real well. I also won a $215 ticket in a 5400 satelite which was a real nice bankroll boast. Lately I've been play 25nl 6 max, mostly short sessions either until I dont feel like playing anymore or until I feel like I'm not playing my best. Seems to be working out well, haven't tilted at all and I've been sticking to limits I'm rolled for which is a nice change of piece. I also got an interview set up for next Monday so hopefully I'll be getting a job as an underwriter real soon. The pay is decent at first but scales fast once you get deeper into the field and the benefits are absolutely amazing.

So my goal is to play low buy in sng's to build a roll and MTT's as well trying to get a big score. So far the MTT's haven't come through. I made 3 final tables, but nothing higher then a 5th place finish. This last week I managed to play 225 $5.50 and $11 sng's for a solid $215 profit and a ROI of 12%. The downside I ran really really well a day or two at the $5.50's cashing in 75%, but I've ran horrendously at the $11 overall I'm down $6 at them so far. Probably some bad ICM in there forsure, anyway I did manage to get silverstar in the last week of the month so I can cut back on mass playing if I want and continue to play casually as initially planned. I have almost 5400fpp's now an I am wondering if it's worth playing the 10man sunday satelite where 4 seats are award. Basically I can take a 40% shot at winning $215 for 5400 fpp's or use 5000 fpp's for the $50 silver star vip reward. I'm curious how soft are these satelites, going strictly by the number the satelite seem like the obvious choice but I have no idea what the fields are like in them.

Now to the rea life stuff. No word on the job yet, but I do plan on calling them this week, I also looked up some apartments online and assuming the neighborhood is good and the place is as nice as it looked in the pictures I think I found my place. If not my brother lives in town so I can just crash his place til I find something nice. Good luck at the tables, LP FTW at the WSOP this year. I'll probably update again next week with hopefully a much higher win rate at the $11 sng's and a big tourney score.

Not much new, had my midlife crisis at 25, nothing quite like coming to the conclusion that something you've spent 21 year pursuing just isn't going to work out because you just got genetically fucked. Aw well that's life I guess. That being said I officially retired a couple weeks ago, what a fun decision that was. With a much clearly head I've decided to start playing again, nothing serious just a few sng's when I feel like playing. I need some kind of competitive outlet and poker always was good for that.

I'm also starting to get my life in order, I recently sent in my resume for an underwriter position at an insurance company, if I don't get it somethings completely wrong. My references will utterly destroy pretty much anyone else who applies, on top of that a VP is personally giving my resume to HR so I have high expectation there. Hopefully I'll be hearing from them soon and I can finally get started on a somewhat more stable lifestyle.

That's why I'm gonna miss it so much, well that and playing in front of 3-5 thousand people most nights. But hey atleast I won't be moving 20+ times in 5 years ever again hopefully. Here's to new beginnings!

Played a smallish session today, just over 1k hands. I did plan on playing another session this afternoon, however, I ended up taking a nice 5 hour nap instead and it was glorious. For some reason today I felt like playing a donkament so I checked out the tourney tab and didn't see anything I liked. I ended up just playing a $4.40 while I played 4 tables of 6 max. The tourney went well and I was in good shape when this hand came up with 14 left.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/357283

Atleast I didn't bust here I guess. Always nice to run well at the end of these tourneys though and go into the FT with a decent stack. Luckily for me I didn't have to worry about the FT. Got back up to just over 5M when the blinds were 500/1000/100 with 10 players left and I picked up 99 UTG. Obviously I shoved and wouldn't you know it the sb had 10's and I did not improve. Glad I wasted 2 hours of my life to lose a 70/30 and then with 10 left a setup. Made a smooth $4 in profit, at this rate I'll be ballin like Elky in no time.

The cash game went a lot better today then last nights session. I looked over PT and also over the comments on the hands I posted and hopefully filled those leaks on a more permant level. So thank you for the comments the are appreciated. I did have a couple hands I wanted to discuss today. Both I think are real straight forward.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/357538

I had just sat at this table and no one knows I'm playing real laggy yet, my database didn't have anything on any of these players when I sat down so they don't know me and I don't know them. That being said I think this is a preflop fold. As weak tight as that sounds I just can't imagine what I'm ahead of here other then A/K. I mean if he's going to 4bet A/K OOP wouldn't he just shove it so he doesn't have to worry about post flop decisions? And his 4 bet is for value and for some reason I decided to play it real fast and look him up. Anyway once I make the call preflop I think the hand is standard, but pre flop this is a fold. Everyone agree?

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/357222

I've been at the table awhile and I have been playing real aggressive. Opening a lot of pots, 3 betting in position standard stuff. Here I got a real weak bet into the pot so I decided to raise and see that if he had it plus if a 4 hits I'm getting his stack unless he's so strong that he hit a set but whatever I'll pay that off here. Turn is standard and I just didn't see how he could have 2 hearts here so river was a snap call. Anyway it's more of a raising the flop thing with 1 acting behind me. Is it really worth putting in this raise vs a weak bet? I have seen a few people who like to bet real weak to induce a raise then repop over the top and with once acting behind me is it really a +ev move? If I get called I'm beat but I am also going to be in position so I can control the pot size a lot better assuming it gets folded behind. Thoughts on my line please.

Ok here are a variety of hands, finished the day down a buyin which sucks because I spewed real bad in some spots and I know I can play better. There were some tough beats in there but that's going to happen. Ok so some hands I want to discuss.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/356842

I've been real active at the table so him 3 betting here is no suprize. OOP I don't know if I like the call, mistake #1. Ok as played once I get to the turn my thoughts are I could be C/C the flop with really any king here or an FD and just repecting the 3 bet. Check check turn, and I lead 1/2 pot trying to rep the king and look like a solid value bet on the river. Anyway results oriented or not I'm sure this hand is butchered that was my process please call me an idiot.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/356886

Pretty standard pre flop, once he leads in I'm thinking Q/Q K/K A/A and A/K. I shove repping the A ran into aces, my thoughts are even if I'm up againsted Q/Q A/A I still have 8 live outs. Also if he has K/Kc which has me dead in the water a shove here should push him off it since he's only getting 2:1. Really the only hand that I'm dead against is K/Kc or A/Kc so I thought a push is ok here based on that thought process. Discuss, tear me a new one, probably spewy but I do think I have FE here.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/356902

I'm playing 33/24/4 here so a lot of aggression and when I hit resistance I wasn't 2 barreling very often which is why I C/R the turn. I had him on K/J K/Q A/K so assuming the river didnt pair the board or throw paint out there I was putting in a sizable river bet. Since I hadn't been firing a lot of two barrels I think max value here is C/R. Thoughts anyone?

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/356909

The villian was an utter maniac running 56/34/8 over 120 hands or so. I was really inclined to call, think this is a +ev fold based on how aggressive he had been. I don't see A/A K/K shoving here there's not value in it. Q/Q J/J maybe to get A/K out but I was really thinking he had A/K or a mid pocket. Thoughts?

I was playing 21/18 at the time, I didn't like being stuck in the middle, however, I have no idea how to play this hand post flop with the over out there and someone acting behind me. My thoughts on it were play it small and try to get to showdown.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=356025

I question whether this is a +ev call long term the villian is running 59/26 over 250ish hands.
