The topic is on foreign policy but the economy will no doubt be covered and the big wall street bailout. If they are allowed to talk about the economy and economic matters I believe Obama will leave McCain looking like a fool. Do not forget that Obama is a professor at the University of Chicago law school (ever hear of law and economics and the chicago school of economics?). He is no doubt well versed.

I had a professor here at NYU who also teaches at Chicago and is extremely famous in the legal academia. He was a pal of Obamas at the law school and occasionally told of the encounters that the two had. One day in class he described the economics of women and men (pulled from a pals blog but I was in class that day):

"Anyways, one day he's talking about depreciation of value or something like that (like many of my classmates, I found it difficult to keep up with what he was saying), and he starts using men and women as an example. If I remember correctly (perhaps a fellow law student can correct me if I am wrong), women start out with a higher value and peak early, but then begin to decline in value. Men start out pretty low but steadily increase over time. As you can imagine, everyone was shocked. The women were horrified/disgusted, the men were amused to varying degrees. I thought it was pretty hilarious. Note in Epstein's model,a woman's value eventually drops below zero. I often wonder at what point in this graph my age demographic is currently at."

No doubt looking up to and working under people like my former professor for 12 years must have rubbed off on the guy.

As an aside: I sometimes regret turning down a sizable scholarship at U Chicago to come to NYU :P

Back again, at least until my plane takes off in 5 hours. Been away for a month but unfortunately I must return to New York city.

San Diego is definitely one of the nicest American cities. I can't wait til I graduate so I can return to work here. Only 18 more months to go...
