        <title>Uni + poker</title>
        <link>http://wilddamon.liquidpoker.net</link>
        <description>I made rather a rushed blog post last night and Pav left me a rather long comment about how I don't have my priorities right.

I believe the comment in my blog he took offense to was &quot;I told you I'd be playing poker instead of studying for my tests&quot;

This was a rather flippant comment and also somewhat untrue, as I had spent the day studying at university before playing poker. The tests begin in 2 weeks time.

I'd also like to point out that I am a full time student studying my third year of electrical engineering, which is certainly not the easiest subject in the world. Without discipline, I doubt I'd have made it this far through my degree already. I certainly do not believe poker is the only option to succeed in life, I find such beliefs laughable.

I'd like to mention the results I got for my last year of study, which put me in the top 15% of all students at my university. I don't wish to brag, but I feel these statistics illustrate my point more clearly than a simple explanation.

These were all full year courses:
Calculus and Algebra: A
Engineering Statistics: A+
Circuits and Systems: B+
Principles of Electronics: B+
Electrical Systems: A
Computers and Modeling: A-
Design and Management: Pass (this course had only a pass/fail grade.)

Poker is, for some reason, the game of leisure among my classmates, and we often get together for a friendly game on Saturday nights. Many of my classmates also use PokerStars, and/or have joined the club &quot;PokerSoc&quot;. The amount of poker I actually play is fairly small compared to others on this site. I may have played at most 60k hands in my lifetime on PokerStars. This may answer domyouji and Exhilarate's questions as to why I have so few FPPs. I didn't play many hands and got very lucky!

On a rather lighter matter, I recently found out that two of the people in my class are my cousins. What are the chances?
