Two of the places i saw were horrible but one of them had potential but it would need quite a bit done to it. I wasnt too keen on the stair way upto the flat though. I also saw one for about $160k which seemed in a pretty horrible state, took me a little while to picture what i could do with it but eventually i realised it was a pretty sick good deal esp with the area its in. Two more i went to were really sick. One was $240k so a little expensive but theres some kind of share thing i offered my dad which he may go for idk its a similar deal to the previous place in that its expensive and top market for the area and will not likely improve much over the years i inhabit it. However, it was fucking stunning. The other one was in the same area but for $190k but it needed a lot done to it and given the current market in the UK (ppl are selling a wide range of properties cuz they overstretched with mortgages) i think i might offer like $160k and just pump a little money into the floor/kitchen/cupboards/bathroom to get it sorted up nice & turn a decent profit once im done with it. So far, this property is v.v.interesting to me, great area with something i can visualise myself both living in and actually turning a profit out of which is fantastic. It also had a great view over various garden areas which was pleasing. The deal i was gonna offer my dad on the expensive flat for $240k was sorta like we chop it so theres a large deposit of about $130-140k and i mortgage the rest of it off. After thats happened i'd continue to pay my dad the other $120k but if we decided to sell at that point he would have like 50% equity in the overall sale of the flat. Pretty damn good deal for me but parents are there to help. This flat would be a bit of a stretch though so i doubt i'd be wanting that even tho it is fucking delicious. As i said earlier im pretty pumped about this idea now and im definitely improving my skill at picking out good deals doing all this looking. Would definitely consider doing it more if possible in the future. The other one was a 3 bedroom place above a sick healthy food restaurant (also a convenient location) but it was bought super fast i didnt even get a chance to view it. That place though would be sick good, i bet you could do a lot with it and it was like $170k so prob would get a lot out of it esp if i rented the other two bedrooms.
