Because I consider this to be fairly major event in my life, and because I want a quick and complication-free healing period afterward, I'm deciding to not play any more poker until the surgery is done and probably won't play for at least 2 weeks afterwards. The reason for not playing prior to the surgery is, it would be really gay to go on a 10bi downswing, mentally feel like shit, and then go under the knife. I'm happy with my poker progress this month so far (+$2k in approx 35k hands), so I'll just let it stay that way. The purpose for the surgery is I have a very big over-bite, meaning my top teeth protrude over my bottom teeth. Because of this, when I bite down fully, my teeth only touch at the back molars, and the front teeth make no contact whatsoever. The gap at the front is so large that I can bite down fully, and still poke my tongue through with ease. These pictures kinda show what is being done, I'll try to commentate exactly what each picture is trying to show. -This shows a side-on view of the skull only. The black line shows the cut they will be making into my maxilla to adjust my upper jaw. It's hard to explain exactly how the cut looks, but it is basically a really shallow-angled cut through the bone on each side. The red line shows the cut-line they will use, and the green shows the surface area they have of each piece of bone on which to manipulate it and adjust the angle. To prepare, I need a copy of each movie on dvd, meaning today I'm going to have to go and buy ep 1 and ep 2 on dvd (have them on VHS only, but our player died ages ago). I will also need to buy food. LOTS of food. Feel free to drop any suggestions on food, but so far I know I'm going to buy like 2 packets of chips, marshmallows, block of chocolate, bottle of coke, maybe a bottle of lemonade, and a burrito kit for 'major' meals throughout the day. So I'll be as brief as possible in filling it with as much crap as I can. Poker related crap: My br is $1.2, peaked at $1.4, but -4bi ain't nothing to cry about. Played about 10k hands at 50nl 6-max, not as good progress as hoped but a combo of some bad calls and suckouts has really hampered me. I got my cheque from PS and so with a few thousand under my belt I thought I'd try to start a live BR at the casino. I took $150 with me and spewed it all at some lucky sons of bitches. Nothing to discuss, once again a combo of suckouts and bad play sent my money flying. Kantoiki, my poor friend Kantoiki, is busy dealing with life beats. I haven't seen any one go on a bad run such as he. He is down like 15bi and only 3 of these at most could be due to 'bad play'. And this isn't bad play as in, calling your stack off with AA on a turned flush board. This is bad play as in, busting with KK vs AA all-in preflop when its pretty obvious villain has AA (and many people in these spots would never ever ever advocate folding KK here). The sickening suckouts combined with the netteller 3k anal rapage has really upset him. He's dealing with it far better than I ever could...every one go over and read his blog, his posts are hilarious and spirited even though he's being fucked by the poker gods. I played some FFXII today, haven't really touched it coz it just doesn't...appeal to me. I love FF games but FFXII just doesn't cut it, it's really lost a lot of the magic of past games. I'm busy waiting for God of war II to release here on Thursday. And Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin and FFVI should be arriving in the mail for my DS some time this week. Uni sucks as always, although now we're learning about the heart, which would make Mike Matusow proud! "You gotta have heart!!!" Unfortunately Mikey, you also gotta have brains... In all honesty, the heart is the most interesting thing I've learnt about so far in my course. I have a stupid 2.5k word assignment due next Monday, all about epidemiological bullshit. And I have a mini-test tommorow morning, which I haven't been able to study for because the faculty website decided to shit its pants and stop working. Oh well, now that I've wasted about 5 minutes of your life by relating some mundane bullshit going on in mine, you might be bored enough to open up some poker tables and start GAMBOOLING!!!
