I'm arguing with a friend about whether there's a river call. Assume villian is decent regular, okay hand-reader.

Starting stacks are 1100$ roughly for me and 1. 7k for villian.
UTG with QQ open to 15$, 6 callers

115$ in the pot

Flop is Qs , 10d , 2d

sb and bb checks to me, I make it 75$
2 Callers.

Pot ($340)

Turn comes 7c

I bet 300$
1 person calls.

Pot ($940)

River comes... 3d...

I check, he bets 500$.

Do I call or fold?

depends on what you think his range is really

you don't provide any information on villain,
no one can give you any answer here. the decisions in poker are relatively easy. it's finding out the information that is difficult. you need to have detailed reads of villain's actions/thought processes.

you ask an incomplete question; therefore the forum will provide incomplete answers

its a flush

I'd rather bet fold river than check/call

but as played probably call, unless you have a sick read that you should fold... sure a flush is in his range but if he's a decent regular he could be value betting worse or even turning some weak-ish made hands into bluffs

Im not sure what to do tomorrow when I see her, should I shake her hand?? -Floofy

Yeah, the info on the villian is really lacking but I wasn't the one that played this hand so I can't comment further on that aspect. I told him it was player dependent but I settled on a call as played

It's 7 way flop. I'd guess one of them having flush draw is more then likely. I'd muck

really need more info for better answer though. You haven't even told us what position villain is in.

Seems like a game where you'd want to pot the flop instead of betting 75.

Bet bigger on flop 7-way. I would at least pot it.

I would also raise bigger pre-flop in this type of game.

Call as played.

A bit out of the topic: Is it ok to bet/fold on river sth like 300-350?

(reasoning: he is going to call with lower sets/small flushes, and raise only big/nut flushes)

Back to topic - it depends. I think we put ourselves in though spot (unnecessarily). Rarely who is going to bluff here, therefore the question is does he vbet here lower sets (If they are at all in his range), and whether he likes to bluff in spots: where his range looks very strong/with missed draws?

I like a b/f as well on the river, just whatever u think he'll call with worse (prob 1/3, 2/5 pot)

I also call river as played but don't really feel good about it

what excatly can he call with on the river, we have almost every queen in the deck in our hand, most of his range is gonna be either flush draw or KJ.J9 - I think all that betting accomplishes is making him fold the KJ/.J9 - i think this is one of the few spots where we close our eyes and go check call - expecting to lose about 40%-60^ of the time, but +EV because we are always gonna get between 2:1 - 3:1 on our call

I think we should also make a relly angry face on the river before we check, to encourage him to bet his busted draws

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same

Well on the turn you bet 300 into 340. If he really is a decent player couldnt you discount non combo flushdraws because he wouldnt call there getting bad odds? Unless you think he could tell you had a monster and would pay him off, in which case he would shove river if he knew you had top set i think. Just random thoughts
