3handed with a short fish and a reg. third day playing with this guy and we are playing HU on two other tables which I am up on him at.

Earlier we had a hand blind vs blind where I 3bet him with AJJTss and he 4bet with 3567 one suit from the sb, I called. he 3/4 pot bet a A87r board and I jammed on him and lost to river two pair.

Villain is running at 60/46 with 17% 3bet 3 handed, and 15% 4bet. I think his range is wider than just AAxx but still this is a really shitty flop for me.

Effective stacks $726

I raise button to 12 with KcTcKd6d, fish folds, reg 3bets pot to 38, I pot to 116, he re-pots to 350, I call.

Flop Qc6h3h, Pot is $720 and he shoves for $380, I ???

thoughts on the 4bet this deep? and calling the 5bet?

just seems mechanically sound to 4bet with the intention of shipping over any action. Seems pretty bad to 4bet with intention of folding here imo.

I think pf you gotta just gambol. you can have his flush draws nutted, and have sick outs even vs AAxx.

love the 4b pf vs this type of villain and we can call the 5b
on this specific flop we have 27.44% equity vs AAxx so we gotta call flop as well

just noticed title was off, 5bet pot not 4bet lol

anyway I had no intention of folding to a 5bet, but I don't see much reason to shove here with us having position, I mean I can get away from some really shitty boards since there's still a almost a buyin left to play for on the flop.

I think we're like 35-40% vs his 5bet range preflop so shipping it def isn't bad but is there the need to gamble like that?

dude it's more exciting to get it in and him flipping over AAxx and sucking out.

heroism ftw imo.

sounds like solid advice.

anyway I called it off, ran into worst possible hand AAQx with two hearts and he hit a flush.

I think despite result the call was okay though.

This. It's just math after getting to the flop like this, especially considering you picked up your 6 you have to go with it given the equity.

wow this is really tough.

i like the 4bet i guess, seems hes 3betting enough to make it profitable.

calling the 5bet vs folding is pretty close, i think its probably a call but man is it really close. would have to run some sort of equity simulation against AAxx, you can check the equity distribution of flops on propokertools and do a bunch of math.

once you flop a pair, backdoor straight and flush draws i think you gotta go with it. if we are calling then there are some flops we are folding, and i think examples of boards we would be folding on are those where we dont have an overpair AND extra outs, i.e. a gutshot, a pair, at least 2 backdoor draws (2 bd flush draws, one bd flush+one bd straight). so stuff like AJ3hh, 224ss, 348shx, etc. just my initial gut reaction to it but i think he has AAxx a high enough percentage where we need 2 backdoor draws or a gutshot or a pair to go along with the overpair to make it worth calling.
