Poker security

Hi,

As some of u read in my blog my computer got fucked up really bad by some kind of virus.
Now i'm all paranoia to play. I moved my funds but I really need to play actually...
Can I play on a different computer but thats on the same internet network?
Anyhow, my question is what would be the ultimate way to secure your computer and especially your poker account against these kind of things? I guess a long password but there most be alot of others things I can do?

^ yeah one of those, look for pokerstars authenticator in their shop. No one can get into your account unless they steal it from you in person.

I think the biggest thing to take away from this is to stay away warezing software if you dont know what youre doing

Nevermind, I found the same one fulltiltstore, just dont have enough FTP fml.

Is it safe to play on the same internet connection with a different pc?

If you turn the computer with the virus on it and any devices it could have spread to physically off (disconnect it from network/power) and you have a completely clean computer that you trust, then it should be safe to use the same connection.

Oh and change your FTP password from the clean comp. (if you haven't already done so at a friends' house)

after years of playing and alot of travel and using rsa's etc, i find no reason to be too scared, just log off ur comp when u shutdown ez game

No, with linux one still can have the same problem; e.g. a relative who used only linux had his pay pal sellers account hack and all the money stolen out of it, also few poker rooms are really linux friendly.

Can't viably play poker on a linux pc, would spend too much time fiddling with shitty wine trying to get stuff like hem+postgres and pokersites (especially various diff eurosites) to work with slim chances of total success, and hating life every time theres a software update in any of said things.
