Hi guys,

I would appreciate some help with calling ranges in turbo SNGs in particular 18 man ones on stars.

I have been working on my game somewhat lately and i think this may be a leakage area. I typically play 30 games at a time so i auto pilot a lot but am a general winning player.

As a general rule i call shoves with 77+, AJo+ outside the bubble if the person has 10bbs or less regardless if im chipped up or down. My rational is that they are shoving a wide range including lots of weak aces even if they are clued up on icm or not so my tight range should do well here... but again im not sure where to draw the line. What are your thoughts here?

Actually, another potential leak area is that I 3bet shove this same range if i am less than 20bbs vs a standard x3 open - what are you thoughts on this too? Mainly doing this for value and expecting calls a lot of the time. If we are both 15bbs plus i widen this range and shove something like KJs+, ATs+ to pick up folds. Again discussion is welcome here.

Regards,

Moz.

just go based upon feel.
"if you feel it, push it."

NeillyJQ: I really wanted to prove to myself I could beat NL200, I did over a small sample, and believe Ill be crushing there in the future.

Obv all of those borderline hands are read dependent. If you think someone's tight, you obv don't want to be shoving 7's against them, or calling 7's vs them. If they are a maniac, then 7's are basically the nuts. Also, you should probably consider what position they're raising from, and who are in the blinds that they're raising to potentially steal from since their ranges will be changing a lot based on that if they are smart players. If I recall correctly, you don't use a HUD, so you should probably be noting regulars so you know who you can call lighter and who you should be making the tough folds against.

3-betting KJs or ATs for value for 20BBs is seems wrong. As Fuji said this is read-dependent, regs steal with a wider range, but a good reg would never 3x and fold if he has like 10-12 BBs. Anyways 9Ts may be a better hand for 3-bet shoving 15Bbs than ATo or KJs because it is dominated less if you get called.

This is all dependent on situation. Sometimes there is a spot where you 3-bet regardless of your hand because you know you will pick up enough folds.

Yeah, 3xing and folding is really bad, but I'm such a nit, a lot of regs do it vs me :[ lol
