Tom Dwan has the button.

Dwan shoves his remaining 1,645,000 in the middle and Simon Watt instantly calls.

Showdown
Dwan: Qd6c
Watt: 9d9c

Tom Dwan and the dealer are the only people sitting in the ESPN final table area as the flop falls 8cAcAs.

The crowd explodes into a chorus of sounds, some calling for cards, others celebrating red/black side bets. Dwan remains seated, silent.

The Ad turns and Dwan finally stands, contempt with his fate. He needs one of three queens in the deck and the room falls silent as the dealer wraps the table...

The very second the Kh hits the river Dwan shakes Watt's hand and heads directly for the exit.

"I can pick up my stuff tomorrow, right?" he asks a tournament director as he scurries off.

The director nods yes and Dwan is out the door.

sorry for shitty english.Last edit: 07/06/2010 06:11

The reason he is and remains successfull is because he's constantly challenging himself to do new things. Not "omg im a multimillionire, life is over iima retire" This win probably meant more to Dwan then anyone else in the final table, hes just not gonna throw a fit like everyone else cause hes a pro

Indeed what Tom said. He knew alot of people didnt want him to win the bracelet so it would have been so much sweeter if he did win it. Imo it's gonna take alot of time to get to another final table. Even if your a great player, you got to get lucky from time to time in tourneys esp in the low buy ins. He was so close to shipping it just days after the bet, what would have been a great accomplishment, even if he is dwan.

If would jizz my pants if he ships the main event, but not gonna happen too soon i guess

Durrr was a player away from winning the main event of the WSOP 5 months early #sidebets

His prop bet must be worth 8-9 million

Browsing through your hand histories makes me wonder that you might not be aware these games are possibly play money. Have you ever tried to cash out? - Kapol

Not going to quote it here, this guy definitely deserves his views.
EDIT: A teaser:

$9 million... and from one person. Phil Ivey. Most likely Ivey bet $3 million on 3-1 odds.

Sick that Dwan (unethically obviously) could have offered multiples of the difference of first (618k) and second place (380k) to Twatt to have him take a dive. 200k to twatt was worth what 12M to Dwan?

tom is getting 3.25:1 on a bracelet this year and ive heard from fairly reliable sources that he stands to win 5mill if he does it.

that 600k means more to Siac0 than the 5 million means to Dwan

My post certainly wasn't to imply that dwan would do something unethical like that, if anything his loss is evidence to the contrary. The difference in stakes that they were playing for was amusing nonetheless.

Man wonder what it feels like to have 10mil+ right in front of your sight and having to lose it after getting as close as you can possibly be..
