So I was playing a live home game 4 way. I have 315 or so infront of me villain has close to 300
Villain is an aggressive raiser but when he flat calls he's generally been tighter, throughout the night he's made some hero calls that failed, one or two succeeded but every time he raised the river big..which was maybe twice or thrice he had the nuts.
I'm on the sb and the villain straddles, action folds to me in the sb i make it 9 with JJ,bb folds sb says to me "want me to call and check it down?" he has usually said this to friends of his with marginal Ax and sc type holdings, i refuse and he calls. (pot 19)
Flop comes 2 3 8 rainbow, i continuation bet 14 with no plans of folding to a raise because of the dryness of the board, he thinks momentarily and flat calls.(pot 47)
Turn J,completing the rainbow and hitting my gin card, now i want him to raise but i fire again hoping to get value out of 8x lower pps, A3 type hands and gutshots/open enders which he will pay off on.
I fire 35 after a few moments of playing with my chips and deliberating. i look at him as i put chips in the pot, he casually calls. (pot 117)
River A, now i actually dont like that card because it can now scare him thinking i hit the river and he wont hero call like he did on previous occasion so instead of betting a but more than 2/3rds like i have been doing i value bet 65, a bit more then half pot.
For the first time in the hands he takes his time in thinking, playing with his chips...at first he counts the chips for a call then he looks at the board for a few seconds and reaches back and makes it 185 total which was weird at first cause he did not move allin but left himself 30 or so behind that he held in his hand.
Me?
Can this be anything else but 45?
I would like to read some opinions.
Thanks very much, I tried to make it as short but as explicative as i could.
