An online poker study is being conducted by Kevin Dempsey, a Psychology Honours student at the University of New Brunswick, supervised by Ph.D student Anthony Hopley and Dr. Richard Nicki. This study is done online and is investigating the factors which lead to poker playing. All participants will fill out several questionnaires, which should take no more than 30 minutes. Each participant will be entered into a draw for five prizes of $50Can, (expected odds of winning are 1:50). If you’re at least 18 years old or 21 outside of Canada and you would like to participate in this study, please visit the website below.

I have been taught during my studies that 30 minutes is too long for a survey. So sorry no.

The only hands a nit balances in his range are the nuts, the second nuts, and the third nuts.

Hello Everyone,

Thanks very much to those who decided to take the survey. I thought I'd adress the questions and comments that have appeared so far.

Technically, it could take someone half an hour to take the study. For most people it doesn't take nearly that long.

This is my first time posting a study on poker forums. As far as we know it, this is the only way to reach the type of participant we are looking for. We need people who regularly play poker online. We really appreciate the help we receive from poker players!

To SugoGosu: Thanks very much for your willingness to help, but since you are under the legal gambling age in the US, it would be unethical to have you take the study.

Thanks again for participating and posting your comments. Keep them coming please!
Kevin

Are you Kevin Dempsey?

If so, why did you refer to yourself in the third person in the OP?

SugoGosu   Korea (South). Mar 11 2010 13:05. Posts 1793

legal age to gamble is 18 -_-; 21 is to drink (which is why i can't go to AC / Vegas / other casinos because they serve alcohol) although i can go to Native American casinos such as Turning Stone in New York, because they don't serve alcohol.
