Ok There is the problem my comp is kinda old ;o 5 year maybe? it's a single cored 3.20Ghz ): i just format'd it cuz it really lagged a lot and had some problem multi-tasking. But now that i re-installed vista it's like 10x Worse i can hardly 3 tables :/(for those who has players FFXI or WoW, i have 6 FPS) THEREFORE i'm planning to build a new comp. i'm too lazy to buy each part separately and build it at my home and i'd prefer not spending over 1k it's only for the box >_>. So just suggestion etc.
Side note : Beside the heating difference (AMD is more suceptible to over-heat than Intel) what's the different between those 2?
Thanks ^_^ |

Gaming or no gaming?
I have just built this:
Arctic Freezer Xtreme Cpu cooler
Antec THREE HUNDRED EU TOWER CASE
OGZ Platinum 4GB KIT DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHZ
Corsair TX Series 850 Watt Powersupply
Asrock M3A790GXH/128M AM3 MB
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black 3.2GHZ
1TB Samsung SATAII/7200 HD
Sapphire 4890 OC edition graphics card
That build is close to $1K US and about the best bang for your buck at this time, 850W PSU is probably not needed I only added that and the motherboard for future crossfire abilities, the RAM are probably overkill too.
Intels core i7 is a bit faster than the Phenom II X4 955 overall, but in gaming it is very marginal at higher resolutions, and it is more expensive, not only the cpu but also the motherboard and ram |

Hmm I built it here in Denmark, but looking at sites like newegg, pixmania etc. America seems a lot cheaper than here for computer parts, dunno if that is the case for Canada though
Of course I built it from the parts myself and didnt include windows etc, sites will charge a decent amount if they build it for you
Prize in USD was $1150, if you dont need crossfire/HC gaming you can skip the 850W psu, the 4890 card, the motherboard and ram and find some cheaper alternatives |

Well it has to run SC2 at least >: )
Do i need a lot of fans if i take AMD as Processor? =o since i dont want it to over-heat( my current one over-heated twice due to overclocking i guess) |

If you overclock you will need a better cpu cooler than the stock one, overheating is not really a big problem unless you are a big idiot, both intel and amd have built in protection
The AMD running hot you are referring to is not true, at least not any more

Ohh yeah you will probably need a 100Mbit internet connection if you want to download the fast 2000Mhz RAM |
