He really has a flush here? Villain is 24/16/2.5, haven't tangled with him any.

The question to me, is why would he pot a flush here when I check it to him, but at the same time, does he really semibluff bet pot here just to commit himself? Its so hard to think about his hand because he's representing a flush, but why would he pot the flush?

So yeah.

I always level myself into shoving here using that logic and they always have some fishy flush like 32dd.

It may be a fold, but your life is much much easier if you bet/fold the turn and play the river straightforward imo. Also that way you get more value from the hands you beat whilst charging the ones that contain a diamond.

Researchers used brain scans to show that when straight men looked at pictures of women in bikinis, areas of the brain that normally light up in anticipation of using tools, like spanners and screwdrivers, were activated.

he's potting because he also has a straight. Perhaps with 8d, or perhaps he thinks he's value betting against a combo draw.

bye now

Betcall turn imo, and i dont see any merits for checking turn at all, except for maybe CRAI, but that would require for him to think your somewhat of a tricky bastard. Checking and going life tanking is definitely bad, you need a plan.

checking turn is so bad, i cant begin to make comments here
you should NEVER EVER check this turn

TTom, explain your thoughts on why the check is bad.

Doesn't Ad or Kd bluff jam this turn sometimes knowing that I can't have an 8 a lot?

Why is it so important we bet for value here? Is bet/fold that more attractive than c/cing here?

if you check and continue on the turn you can not have the bluff

and when you bet the flop you can have the bluff a lot

yeah pooruser obv nailed it

also to elaborate on your range question, how on earth does naked Ad or Kd call the flop? if villian is floating the flop as light as AKo // if so then hes horrile and bet / calling is the correct play anyway, it's almost impossible for him to have a big naked diamond

well if by check/calling you are assuming to get stacks in you are way better off betting yourself, he will check back a lot of hands you beat and bet all hands that beat you. Villian is obv some donk given his preflop 3b size and we can get sooo much value from a bet here that we dont get if we check. I would almost rather c/f than c/c here.

well, in this spot i'd probably just check/fold now
he's never doing this with any big naked diamond
plus his 3bet calling range against a preflop min3bet is really wide, probably includes all suited connectors.

isn't this turn improving our hand, why the hell would we check/fold.
