what do you mean too thin? that you're value betting a pair of 9s and its too thin? I don't even really know what a thin bluff is. |

I think that bluff is fine. I don't even think it's that thin if you have the normal low stakes PLO image. If he can fold hands, he should fold anything less than a flush here.
@ Kaisr, a thin bluff is a bluff intended to fold out a small portion of the villains range, just like a thin value bet aims to be called by a small portion of the villains range. |

He was willing to call half his stack on the turn when the flush hit. I'm no tournament player, but wouldn't it be really bad to put 2/3rds of your stack in and then fold when you'd be left as the short stack on the bubble? |

Haha, I was about to show up with a mountain of quoted posts with "thin bluff" in them, but searches here come up with no one really using it except me, edzwoo, floofy, and Bejamin1, and each of us only used it once before this thread. I can admit I'm wrong. |

People don't really understand implied odds, call on the turn doesn't necessitate call on the river |

thin + bluff doesn't make sense in the usual term and it is much more intuitive to just ask if your bluff is bad
thin is always used in connection with an attemp to gain value |

When people say "too thin" they refer to the range of hands that you can actually beat but will still call a value bet. If your hand has showdown value and the only hands that will call you are hands that beat you, then it's too thin to value bet. |

95% of the time after the turn he has a low flush that he won't be folding. Tourneys play much different than cash games people don't give up when they make anything decent. |

| Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same | |
