Friends and I arguing about flopping sets or other monsters oop.
General situation cause I can't cover every single type of villain and flop...
but you are out of position and not the preflop raiser and you flopped your set.

Poll: C/r or lead out?
(Vote): CHECK RAISE!
(Vote): DONK!

I'll post what I think of the situation later I don't want to bias any answers at this point.

The only hands a nit balances in his range are the nuts, the second nuts, and the third nuts.

Depends on villain, players in the pot, board texture, and previous history. Lots of variables, but I would generally c/r vs an unknown.

check and give villain a chance to cbet since in general ppl are willing to cbet a wider range than they are willing to call a donk bet with imo.

General unknown villain, only villain in pot.

been donking them a lot lately as a default unless villain(s) are particularly aggro and cbetting frequently.

definitely donking on drawy flops like 100% of the time. so sick of vills checking behind and hitting flush es fofree on the turn

or..........

check/call...............

lol @ not even considering it

here's the bottom line:

1. if you want to lead, you either need history that will encourage people to call/raise you light, or you need NO history but an opponent who just likes to bluff the first time somebody does something strange/unorthodox. otherwise, leading isn't gonna work. that said, i think it's highly favorable to lead really often and develop a sufficient history such that you can lead with your sets. it's also very important to know who is the monkey who raises the leading bet the first time.

2. if you want to check/raise, you need to have some reason to believe that your opponent isn't highly likely to be bluffing when he bets the flop. otherwise, lol, why are you encouraging him to fold out his bluffs?

3. if you can't meet any of these conditions, check/call

as a rule of thumb I usually lead against better players and check raise against weak players.

money won is twice as sweet as money earned.

I donk it if there are 3 or more opponents or if there are 2 opponents and a drawy board and I know PFR is capable of checking behind.
I c/r most of the time, but I do this with a lot of stuff...
I might be doing too little of c/c, I only do it on really dry boards.

Shouldn't you rather donk really drawy boards ? Since you dont want to see him checking behind and then a bad turn card.

in low limit cash games 99% of the players cbets 100% of the time. Besides, I have NEVER seen anyone check a draw as the PFR with one or two opponents in low limits. So the situation where i donk doesn't arise too often since the criterias for it hardly ever happens.

depends more on board texture more than anything else for me... Donk away most of the time... opponent is obviously relevant as well. ^_^
