Been playing on FTP and I still don't know what the formula is for bets / raises when you smash the 'Pot' button. All I know is preflop SB + BB + 2xBBs = pot size raise UTG. From there, I'm fucking lost. Especially when there is a good amount of money in the pot.

ur playin 1/2 no limit

there is a limper

there is a raise to 8

there is a call

you are on the button and you 3bet pot

calculation

1+2(blinds)+2(limper)+8(raiser)+8(caller of raise)+8(your call of the raise before your raise)

29 more

= a pot size raise is a raise to 37

just figure out how big the pot would be after you call and add that to the amount required to call

I don't nkow this lol. Online I just hit "pot" or bet w/e I feel like.

Live just grab however many chips you happen to grab, and push them towards the center so they all slide down one another gracefully, into a line parallel with the table but each chip stilllllllllll overlaps the one before it by a bit.

rek is correct

wtf minraise fayth what?

Sicks Macks   United States. Dec 04 2008 13:36. Posts 3929

fayth is def right. I always think of it as call + raise what ever is in the pot after you call. But that's the same as minraise + what's ever in the pot before you call because minraise is 2x call.

Edit: fayth isn't right if your pot raise is a cold raise. Mine is either way.

It's basically a bet that makes the opponent who acted last get exactly 2-1.

Isn't it [money in pot] + [villain's bet x 3]?

Twisted says Rek; Sicks say Fayth. We need an Asian in here to sell this gawdmt.

minraise != 2xcall?
in rek's example it's call = 8, minraise brings it to 14, not 16. (2 + 6 + 6 =!= 8 + 8)
Pretty sure Rek is right about this.

No you're right minraise <> 2x call when your raise is a cold 3bet. I think my math works perfectly, it just doesn't equate to Fayth's exactly.

Either way it's a bet that gives the last to act opponent 2-1 ((calling x 2) + what was in the pot before this action)

You minraise + you bet the amount that is already in the pot right?

1/2 no limpers 1+2+4=7
1/2 2 limpers .50+1+1+1+2=5.50
